I love how my dogs try to 'out-cute' each other for my attention.

And here's a question for everyone with pets. Do they react differently to you when you are dressed up?

Mine do, because when I'm dressing(even if it's just the clothing and no makeup or wig) I think I'm throwing off a more feminine vibe. At least they don't try to dry hump me lol. They still haven't figured out which of them is the alpha-female and are doing that to each other all the time. (Yes, I have two female dogs...I thought it would be the best combo..like sisters...what was I thinking?!)

They did bark at me when I was totally en-femme the other day..Not used to seeing me with hair I guess!

I guess I could have put this in the general forum, anyone is welcome to answer!

Our cat who hates everyone but my wife and I doesn't care at all what I wear. I'm still the one who feeds her so that makes me okay. She's made a life's work of trying to trip us. She's a real threat when I'm in heels!

It is not that you look different it is that your thoughts and movements are different and they can feel that they can recognize when you are nervous and when you are weaker in you thought talk to them like you always do it can help.my dog has never reached to me when I am dressed out because I did not treat him any differently that makes a big difference.

My cats are indifferent. though, personally, i get more annoyed at them while female.

Not sure if my dogs really act differently, but they do seem a bit more well-behaved as odd as that probably sounds. xD

We have several dogs, and on the days when I am here alone and dress from head to toe they all behave exactly the same towards me as if I wasn't 'dressed' at all. Perhaps it's a scent that I'm not aware of, or my voice, but the changed apparance makes not one jot of difference to them. Fortunately they can't twll the wife when she gets home !

My dog sniffed me funny the other week but she does that when you wear any new clothes. Get new sneakers? She'll know.

I love cats. We also have had dogs. The last two (one of each) passed away several years, both in their mid-teens, human years, probably late 60's or later, pet years. And we won't be getting any more soon, because our lifestyle is way too active and the kids are long gone.

But...when I dressed while we had both, I think they gave me suspicious looks like, um, is that you? The dog, more so. And usually within the first minute of me appearing. But as long as they got fed, I could see they didn't really care. My thought at the time was, they were extremely used to seeing me a certain way - pants/jeans, shirt, sweater or coat, etc. Though, outside during the winter, long coats, caps, and gloves didn't seem to bother them. So after awhile, I thought it was more me, then them.
