4 Months On Hormones!

Guest Soph

Recommended Posts

Hey gals, sorry I haven't posted in so long... long story short, went to college, tried to suppress who I am, etc.

However, I did start the hormones on september 1st, which means that tomorrow will be the 4 month anniversary!

I've actually been presenting as myself now, going places and running errands en femme (and I think I pass! Got Mam'd, only time I got weird looks was when I had to present some identification >_<). In short, I'm feeling really good about myself now... even going to a new years party presenting, and there will be a lot of people I don't know there.

Without further ado, I give you myself! (I hope I got the attachments right :P)

the picture had to be from the side, since otherwise you can't see my hair, which I think contributes to my passibility.

In retrospect, I see a spot where I missed makeup >_< I'm still learning :P

This one I cropped and shrunk down to my profile pic, you can see the spot I missed more clearly ;-;

This was ambitious of me, going for a straight on shot. I put my hair down (still shorter than I want it >_<). I hate my smile, it always feels fake to me; I was, however, quite happy at the time :D

Thats all I have :D My dad took the photos, it seems hes fully on board with my transition (as is the rest of my family :D)

Very nice, Soph. Your face has very feminine features, and you are very passable.

I do like your smile, hon.

Keep up the great work, and congrats on being out more as Soph.

Keep us posted, and don't be such a stranger, OK?

HUGS

I love your dress style :) very bright and fun!

So happy to hear ur able to present as yourself, you must feel so much better!

Oh about ur id's, have you thought about asking your therapist for a letter of gender change for the DMV (Makes a world of difference for yourself esteem!)

You go chica!

Hi Soph,

I think you look great in those pictures. Very passable. My favorite picture is the third one with your pretty smile. What also is really great is to hear that your family is so very supportive of you. Only four months hrt and you look this good? I can't wait to see you after one year hrt. Keep smiling Soph, it looks good on you.

Love,

Vivian

Thanks a ton, really! I didn't realize the last one was sideways before posting it, or I would have fixed it ;-;

And some bad news about the hormones: blood work came back, and I'm healthy as a horse, but my estradiol levels are about 2x what they should be.

This is odd, since I've been taking it as prescribed (twice daily sub-lingually). I'm getting the tests redone to see if it wasn't just a fluke, but I really hope my doctor doesn't change my dosage (if I'm taking less estrogen, would the changes happen slower, or would it just be healthier for me, and the changes can't be catalyzed by more hormones?)

I'd get the gender marker on my driver's license changed (or try to >_< ) but I still haven't changed my name.

Might still give it away.

I'm going to guess the changes wouldn't be any slower but more on track since you're levels will be sorted out- a.k.a. you probably wouldn't experience any difference in speed.

I wanted to comment about your smile.

When you're truly happy and let your guard down your smile will develope where you won't look at it and think "fake".

In time your smile might become one of your best features.

Hi Sally, okay I'll head on over to your post and check out your makeup techniques.

Hey all,   It's been a while, but I blogged a whole series on makeup.  It's an eight-part series where I talk about my techniques.   Here is the link to Part 1:       Hopefully the blog series is helpful.

Oh, I can relate to that one Vicky, leaving lipstick in hot weather  I've lost count how many times I had to purchase new purses.

Thanks for the replies, as an admin from my own group I understand the same rules, agreed.

I do spoken word acting, and give Trans 101 talks and other public speaking.  I wear make-up for those occasions.  Sephora is easy for me to get to, and has a foundation that does a good job for me and the sales folks there are Trans Friendly.  Their eye shadow pallets are also fun to use. Another source of my foundation is Ulta which carries Dermablend that does a consistent job of my lower face and chin.   I just use good old Revlon lipsticks because I ruin them by leaving my purse in the hot car too often.

I'm not interested in makeup, jewelry or nice clothes or girly stuff.  It's made me wonder at times.   It saves some money.  If I wore a skirt it would likely  be denim.  I thought about a woman's skirt suit but nah.   Neither of my sisters are into that stuff either.  One likes peasant chic (still a 60s flower girl)  and the other - the only time she has ever worn a dress was at her wedding.  Jeans at all other times.   Jeans and t shirt here.  Content being a girl.  Weirdo. Weirda? Never mind.

@Ladypcnj Before posting links to other group's websites, PM one of the Staff (preferably an Admin) and have them check that site out.   We have specific rules here regarding age appropriateness and would need to know that the other site is in line with those rules.  We do have members here between 13 and 18 and other sites need to be safe for that age range, legally and otherwise.  Also, we are not a dating or pick-up site, not do we allow people selling things to advertise here.  As I said clear the link with a moderator or admin before posting it.  Mod's and admins do check out posts and if we find problem links we will remove them and notify the OP of a rules violation.  Go to https://www.transgenderpulse.com/community-rules to understand where we are.

I raise my hand in the group, I have a question and a suggestion... is it allowed to share other new lgbtq+ website links here?
    • Ladypcnj
Yeah, ELF is a good brand, another brand is Revlon ColorStay last 24 hours.

I really don't think that's a good idea. The unity of the LGB and T community is historic and has been central for both groups rights. And the vast majority of people advocating for splitting the two are transphobic LGB's who are broadly condemned by the community anyway.
