HUMMmmmmmm.......

Someone else had posted on this same topic some time back and I researched soy and estrogen....

I told them that one would have to drink 500 glasses of soy milk to get any estrogen effects at all....

So, that would be 25-30 gallons of soy milk a day......LOL

Not doable...

Hi Nikki,

I was very recently looking at a sight re Estrogen"s in food , cant remember the sight

but if you google estrogen in foodstuff"s you will get a trail to follow. All animal meat, all

dairy products , apples (yep) and so much more , btw, pears are an anti estrogen, look

it up hun, you will be amazed. luv,viv :)

Yes......Viv, you're totally correct...

Our environment is, unfortunately, full of chemicals....

Farm animals are given hormones and steroids for growth and they get into our ground water and we end up getting them and we eat their meat, too...

Some hormones occour naturally like in soy....but the ammount is so low that it's not even worth mention...

FYI ...licorice contains some estrogens, too....but, the Chinese warriors of old would eat it before battle...you didn't see them being very girly...

And, no...you won't grow boobs on licorice, either....

Stay with the safe and proven estrogens that are given under a doctors care...you'll LOVE the results and be safe at the same time...

OK??

Love

Donna Jean

Even if you could drink 25-30 gallons of soy milk in a day (which is insane to begin with), I dunno if you'd get any effect at all without a strong anti-androgen. Even if there are natural anti-androgens, you'd probably have to consume a comparable amount of, say, apples (I'm not saying apples are anti-androgens. I'm just using apples as a random example of food). If you drank that much soy milk every day and ate that many, say, apples, you'd make yourself sick. In order to get a prescribed anti-androgen, I'd imagine you'd have to jump through similar hoops to what you'd need to do to get estrogen to begin with.

Just sounds like a complete waste of money and effort, to me. Can you imagine how much that much soy milk would cost?

that's a hole lot of milk you would have to drink....wouldn't go delving into the hole what has estrogen and such or you might find out some things you never wished you knew, like how they get the chemicals for some of the pills/patches/injections we take. really is quite unsettiling when you find out :P

Hi Nikki,

Soy as a source of estrogen is not a good idea. The amount of soy one would need to intake would make soy toxic to your body. Please don't go down this path.

Please adhere to the Standards of Care specified by the wpath organization.

I don't think that we want to go there, Foxy......

Some of us haven't taken our hormones yet today......

Thx.........

25 gal of milk, Ghods you would drown before getting enough to make any changes. Not a wise course of action. Death by soy milk doesnt sound like good way to go

Oh sure thing Donna Jean, I could not agree more. Only route to hrt is through

your Doctor, any other way is foolhardy. I dont get to see my endo for months

and thats the way it is ,,,the right way is the only way and yes, I have read also,

the amount of hormone in plant and animal is ...well, microscopically small. viv :)

Just so you understand the trace amounts of Estrogen in foods - I'll make it a little more visual.

To obtain the full benefits of HRT one needs to be on it for well over a year.

If you ate only foods rich in Estrogen and drank only Soy Milk continuously for a month you would have roughly the equivalent of about three days of HRT!

So 10 months of overeating has landed you 1 month of HRT so 10 years later you will have gotten a portion of the benefits because you had nothing to block the Testosterone.

And the cost of so much fresh produce - you could have paid for your SRS by then!

So being 58, I would achieve my desired result in about 20 to 25 years - I had better find a new surgeon, these will all be retired by then.

It is so much easier, quicker, cheaper and safer to do it the right way.

Nothing in life is easy but some things are worth working for.

Love ya,

Sally

I say if you're already on a Doctor approved and monitored HRT, go ahead and have a little tofu now and then! Every little bit helps, no matter how minuscule. Plus you're getting an alternate and natural source of estrogen and if that makes you feel a little more female or you swear that created a little extra growth in your bosom then so be it! :)

After I found out about this a while ago I was very concerned because I am primarily male identified and vegan except for honey. I was happy to find out that the amount of estrogen in soy is so low that I would have to intake massive amounts of it daily. So, sorry, drinking soy milk won't do anything because the amount it will take to get results will make you pretty badly overweight. However, I encourage you to switch to soy milk for your health in general. If fortified it is actually healthier than regular milk. Milk also, like most animal products, causes quite a toll on the environment. Cows produce a great deal of waste. Not to mention the appalling conditions that those cows live in!

Heck I didn't even know they could go up that high! I just have a four burner and one to keep stuff warm. What kind of pies did you make?

That's all the matters.   Well me and the wife rode to Perkins for breakfast. As we were waiting for our food. Being it is Sunday There are a few gentleman in suits, my guess from church. I think to myself. I hope I never have to wear one of those monkey suits ever again. Now a nice dress maybe.   Hugs,   Kymmie

From time to time I've looked at 'Who Is Online" and I have consistently noticed that members are ALWAYS outnumbered by Guests by a wide margin, sometimes, like a minute ago, by more than a 10:1 margin.  I have never seen that before on an internet forum.  It can be explained partly by the nature of what this is, that it draws the curious and they are certainly welcome to read here, and to join, but it leaves me with a feeling of being in a fishbowl.  I wonder who ARE these people?  Donald Trump, is that you? Biden? Sinwar? Putin?  We can only guess.

So from time to time my brain gets a hold of information and puts it together with other information in weird way that get me thinking. I was reading about a nudes cruise that they are running out if Miami. It got me thinking that a transgendered person who is also a naturalist, has to be one of the most unlucky people alive. How does one manage that and does that ever come up? Not trying to make fun here, just genuinely curious. Things that make you go hmmmm....

No luck there, really. She's getting a signing bonus plus a little extra that I don't think would cover much in the way of the move, but it is something!   Oh my! I am glad to hear you're not passing anymore blood. I hope they figure it out soon! How distressing!   @April Marie @KymmieL @Mirrabooka @Willow @Justine76, thank you for the kind words and thoughts! We told our best friends last night. There were many tears. Now it's all about the work: selling the house (my wife's friend's son said he may want to buy it direct!), a job (a former employee of mine wants to bring me over to his company--and they're based outside of Tacoma!), and moving (just started going through what we don't want bring and donating things). So things have kicked off.   I'm not so sure of the job, it would be good to work with my former employee (he's great) but I fear the culture may not be super welcoming to someone like me--and the guy doesn't know I'm trans in any way. But I'll give it a shot as my authentic self and see what happens!

@LadypcnjI'm sorry. I know the feeling my mom thinks I'm going through a phase too although I didn't come out till April 17, 2023, so it was later in life. I was in denial majority of my life. I would love to hear more about this if you are comfortable sharing more of it.

I love fashion. I have over 100 dresses and 74 pairs of shoes. My walk-in closet is full of other clothes as well. I'm getting more shorts soon. SHEIN is awesome for quality and price. Just when you get a leather coat from them it's just the shell not the liner. Most of my shoes are from Torrid because I wear size 13 women's.

Unfortunately Oklahoma is about as bad as Texas but definitely not as bad as Florida. Especially as a minor!

I'm sorry @Ladypcnj I can only sympathize with you on that. Therapist on the other hand is crazy. I have had 16 in 10 years. It sucks having to have to go over things. I will say though after 6 therapists I didn't have to explain my history they simply read the history.

I followed you and will give you my advice when I can. It has happened to me a lot too. If you want to you can always message me and I'll get back to you ASAP. I understand your concerns.

I don't use it.   One of my daughters gave me a little to experiment with, but I haven't.  My youngest tried to put some on me once, but I din't like it.  The light was pretty bad admittedly. My ex didn't use it, and my daughters didn't use it much either when they were still at home.  (If so it was very subtle) And I don't often notice it on women my age (mid 70's)   I shave every day.  But my beard is not heavy, and essentially grey, so it's not real noticeable unless you get close with good light.  I was starting to look into electrolysis, but the pandemic hit, and I just kinda dropped it.   Sometimes I do wonder about it though.
