What Kind Of Results Can I Expect From Hrt?

I am attaching a picture of myself to this post.

I am 6 feet 2 inches. 220 lbs, uncalculated BMI, mostly muscle, some fat around the abdomen.

I am 15 years and 4 months old. Kind of an early bloomer, i can have a beard in 1-2 weeks.

What kind of results can I expect to see from HRT?

The door in the background gives sort of a scale.

I will Answer as susinctly as possible.

Tremendous change like you would not believe.

Because of your age,you would/will look a birth woman in time.

Truth.

Kia Ora Brianna,

I'm sure there are others in this forum who are a similar build, height and weight as you...But to give you a rough guideline...up to the age of 25 you should get around 100% effectivity from HRT...25 to 35 75%...35 to 45 50% after 45 it's pot luck what happens...I'm sure you are aware that hormones will have no impact on your height or bone structure but your body and facial fat will start to migrate filling out hips and developing breast etc plus creating somewhat androgynous facial features...Cross gender specialist believe that with HRT we take on the sexual characteristics of our older sister or mother...I hope that of some help...

Thanks Angie and Jendar.

Yeah, I know hormones won't do much for my build, but I know if i lose some of this muscle ill look a lot less bulky.

I put on a lot of muscle over last summer, i worked out with my brother like every other day. I have heard and read that hormones will get rid of that muscle pretty well.

And people already say they see the resemblance between me and my sister. (albeit shes smaller than me)

One question though, how exactly do you define effectivity?

Thanks for help and lots of love

I have this same question almost constantly on my mind... I am 6'1 180lbs and have a fairly athletic build (broad shoulders, muscular body). I am 21 now, and am considering starting HRT when I graduate college. I look very masculine and well. I hope that when it is all said and done I will look 100% female, but we will see.

I think you'd turn out fine!

Just some advice, if your parents or you could start paying for either electro or laser, I'd do it. I ended up procrastinating and now my parents won't pay for mine unfortunately enough hehe. Although I feel bad asking them for even more money, so that's why I'm sorta paying for it by myself. Either way, you'd turn out fine. Your body looks very proportional also, I mean if you wanted to start losing weight you could, but that's really up to you and how happy you are with your body.

P.S. Good luck on coming out again. PM me if you ever need any extra help or anything :D

....100% effective under 25??? *dances around in joy*

Voice of reality: HRT is a crapshoot no matter what age you start. However, it is true that the earlier you start the better, but NO-ONE get's 100%. Studies have shown even if you start at 11-12 you will still have narrower hips (among other things). I know someone that started HRT at 21 and got virtually no breast growth (sub A). I wish HRT was a sure thing, but that's just not reality, so the best anyone can say is:

YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary)

Brianna, I do like your facial shape, nice and round. Good luck with coming out.

I think you will look great BTW I love your teeth, I like the shape of your face and HRT will make you look more feminine. Your 15 and have a beard :o I'm 16 nearly 17 and I still haven't I guess I'm just lucky.

Thanks,

Yeah, heavy beards run on my dad's side of the family...my brother looks like theres a herd of black sheep on his face. If i shave carefully enough its hard to see any stubble except where i used to have my lambchop sideburns (idk why i even had those...bleh). And I guess electro will take care of that eventually.

And yes, my face is probably the most feminine part of my body, i still kind of have the same facial features since 7th grade. I'm also lucky to have a small adam's apple, some of my friends look like they have a plum stuck in their throat.

And I know HRT isn't a sure thing, but it seems like every source I've read says that the earlier you start, the more like a genetic girl you look like. And I wouldn't mind looking like my mom or my sister, they are very pretty.

Thanks for the info, and lots of love

Kia Ora all,

When I said 100% I didn't mean a guarantee you will look 100% female...even if one has facial surgery one can't guarentee that[plastic surgeons can work miracles but miracles aren't necessarily perfect]...It's just the luck of the draw... what I meant was at your age the HRT would be firing 'all guns fully loaded' but as you get older the less ammunition there is in your arsenal and bumping up the amount of HRT isn't going to do any better in fact just the opposite could happen plus there's the possibility of adverse side effects...

Let me give you another example Hrt creates the 'female' version of you in a male bone structure -If you already look somewhat androgynous then chances are the Hrt will work wonders...nothing more nothing less

Wow if you look like your sister well what can I say but "you're half way there"....Most importantly DON'T WORRY...What will be will be just go with the flow...

Well I suppose I will see what the gender specialist thinks...whenever I do go see one...hopefully soon.

And I guess I look androgynous, sort of. Idk, kinda hard to evaluate myself haha.

Thanks for the advice.

Love as always

Hiya Brianna,

A little on muscle mass.At about six months into HRT,the muscle you have will start to break down.

And take on more of a womans proportions and appearance.True.

I was a body builder from the time i was nineteen, and had major definition and size.

Now,i have small arms like i had only hoped to have, and it (HRT)affects all the muscles in your body.

Streamlining you into a much more female body in no time.Annnnnddd, you will lose weight also.

I peaked at One Fifty One Sixty that i could effectively lose pre transition.Post start, with regular exercise...Now at one Thirty Five consistently.

Keep The Faith,

You Will Look Better Than You Ever Imagined.

thanks angie,

just curious. what weight were you at before you started losing weight pre-transition?

I ask because im at 220 now, but ive dropped a good 10 lbs in the past week, i have a really fast metabolism apparently as long as i eat right, and once spring volleyball rolls around ill be exercising more and ill drop weight.

Speaking of which, if I start transitioning sometime in Feb, will it still be appropriate for me to play on the boy's team when spring volleyball starts sometime in April? There is a co-ed team...but idk.

Love

Alyssa

Heh I have much the same question :P I hope losing weight will finally help me get rid of some stubborn belly fat. I have too much chest/leg muscle in between and no matter how many crunches I do or how much weight I lose, it always stagnates at about 175 and I cannot go any further down ><. I am sure you will be fine for spring volleyball btw.

This is not true, it is a trans myth. Maybe on the molecular level it's true, but as far as size and shape of the skeleton NO. Once those are established there is no changing them. I'm a radiologic technologist and I know bones. HRT does a lot of wonderful things, but there are some things it can't do. For example the shape of the pelvis is set by age 12. Kids who start young have wonderful curves because they got a wonderful soft tissue response, not because bones change. Also starting young (12-14) can minimize the expansion of the rib cage, so it stays closer to that of a natal female. Combine that smaller rib cage with copious soft tissue development and some of thos kids look amazing. Unfortunately very few start at those ages.

The only sure thing you can say is YMMV. I've know a girl that started at 21 and got NO breast development, while on the other end of the spectrum I know sombody that started at 51 and got a C cup. You just never know and it can't be predicted.

In general:

the younger you start the better

take a look at your family genetics (mother and sisters breats size for example)

the more androgenous at the start the better

I lost out on the first two, but the third paid me big dividends

Also remember that HRT is not just physical. It will effect how you think, how you feel as well and how you sense the world around you. But again, the degree varies.

Hi Ladies,

Actually,i was very muscular and masculine appearing.

The lowest i could get pre transition?150/160.

And i tried everything,diet exercise,everything.

Now,135 and very feminine appearing.

Tiny arms,small waist and HIPS!lol.

I have been doing this exercise my whole life.

In my old life,i was a bodybuilder,no kidding.

Ya can't tell now,and i'm a happy girl for that too.

alyssa, even without hrt i wouldn't be able to tell you what you'll look like when you're older. nobody can know the future, we just have to find out as it comes. hormones aren't 100% guaranteed to turn you into a girl or whatever so don't place your expectations higher than the reality :( but since you're only 15 they will probably have a huge effect, and i can guarantee that you'll be surprised :)

but like everything they'll take time, don't wait to see good results immediately but wait to see great results in a couple of years. to be honest, your picture reminded me a lot of a member of another forum pre-transition, she's now very pretty so don't worry about it too much. and looking at you, hrt could well have a similar effect ^_^

anyways, we walk the path knowing which direction we're going, but not where we'll end up.

o que será será.

xx
