Keep in mind that there's not necessarily a specific order. Someone could be far into HRT without any RLE and vice-versa, and not everyone wants SRS.

How true, Jo......

Some people may be done with transition without SRS or HRT.....

Some only with HRT...

We all have different destinations....

There is no common ending...we all stop where we need to...

HUGGS!

My therapist wants me to change slowly in front of my co workers

That sounds a little risque, don't you think? :P

Oh, I'm on cruise control now. Just doing my thing and saving up for laser.

I came out and started living full time in October 2007 got my letters for surgery finally resolved after three years of full time RLE.

Two years of Laser that did not fully clear my red hair on my face.

I've had to go to 3 different doctors for my second letter, first psych after one year refused to provide letter because of a conflict of interest which I have yet to figure out.

Second Psych finally gave me a letter that was useless because she refused to write it according to WPATH guidelines.

So I had to got to a third doctor who knew what she was doing and got a super letter from her finally.

Now I've done everything that the Comprehensive Gender Program at the University of Michigan has asked me to do so I can come up for my surgical eval only to have the Nurse Practitioner stop returning my calls to set up the appointment, don't know why.

I have insurance that will pay for my srs and that's the only thing I have left.

I'm doing the down south clearing myself with a home electrolysis device that I bought that does work. I'm finishing up my face that the laser did not work on with great success. Plus I'm shaping my eyebrows with it so that I will never have to pluck another hair off my brow.

If I can get everything ironed out with the CGP at the Uni of Michigan I hope to of had my SRS by June if not earlier.

The thing I would like to get across to everyone when shopping for doctors and therapist be blunt from day one and ask them whether or not they will write your surgical letter when the time comes to if you meet the criteria set forth by WPATH. If they don't know what your talking about provide them with a copy of the SOC, but if they refuse to answer your question leave and find another doctor. Because they will take your money and leave you with nothing in return if your not careful.

But yea after 3 plus years of following WPATH's SOC to the letter I'm almost done with my transition and am ready to start my new life and hopefully marry Larry and adopt a child to raise.

Love

I selected "Just starting", but I'm between there and the next choice - "RLE".

I'm 63, have been transgendered for life, and dressing in drag all that time, that is, dressing and acting male against my actual, but not visable gender. I had medical exams in the 70's that showed nothing, that is nothing except medical ignorance; got side-tracked by life four years ago, and now I am actively pursuing my true self.

I've done the research, have the transition timeline, found a support group, had my first therapist appointment this past week, am going to my regular doctor in three weeks where I will bring him into the loop. After that I will get to an endo doc - my therapist will refer me if my doctor for some reason wont. I do have health issues - Diabetes and high BP, so immediate HRT may be delayed; I'm working to improve the health, weight loss, etc. If that works out, I'm trying for a RLE transition goal of perhaps July. I really want HRT prior to moving into RLE.

I do have a unique problem - funds. I know that is hard to believe....oh, I see Elizabeth has that challenge as well! Darn our luck. Well, I'm going to do everything I can that doesn't bang up against that challenge too badly. Actually I guess I have two problems. The other is I've put this off for so long, will I chicken out? Will I find other "reasons" to interupt this Girl again?

Joanna,

This is something i was wondering about too, i am not sure which one to check as i am well into HRT (18 months) and RLT (8 months according to my therapist), but i am also coasting waiting for all the details of SRS to be resolved, meaning working towards my letters and selecting a surgeon.

Actually I am none of those. I am well into my RLE but my therapist is being annoying and refusing me testosterone for stupid reasons.

For what it's worth my selection was coasting waiting for srs..... because thats what I really am doing transition wise.

Good morning.    I did not try to see the sky last night.  We watched tv and went to bed.  Cooler but dry this weekend it was 58 when I got up this morning.  Sorry Kymmie, no chance of white rain here. Although there is always a chance of hail.  Fortunately, the storms stayed west of us and dropped their golf all size hail elsewhere.  I do feel bad for the people that got the hail as that was in a poorer part of the state.   Even the county we live in is quite large and has socioeconomic issues that range from wealth to below poverty.  Very few good middle class jobs and a number of them are closing their doors every year.  Most workers are some way connected to hospitality and travel.  We are beginning to see some internet based jobs as the latest under sea internet cables to South America and other places are coming ashore here.  But they are not connected yet.  We have a rail line but it stops at the innercoastal waterway. The bridge was damage in a hurricane and there just wasn’t enough traffic to justify Corman spending the money to fix it.  So it is permanently in the raised position.     @awkward-yet-sweet I’m glad you got to spend some downtime away from the every day at home.  I can’t imagine how a household that large operates.  And I do think you deserve an upgraded commercial kitchen.  But,  you wouldn’t all be able to live together if you spent money buying new to you things instead of fixing the old with so much talent at home.   Well, I hope to spend time creating the outline of my paper today.  I’m sure I will have to refine it a couple of times before it is completed.   enjoy your weekend    willow

Same here.  My mind is a jumbled mess.  I'm no great philosopher, nor particularly educated.  Don't open my brain's closet, as all the junk might come tumbling out.

Its been a long day.  I had a good trip with my husband, kind of sorry I had to come home.  I mean, I love my partners, but I feel overwhelmed by the chaos at times.  It was nice being able to just drive and talk for two days, and not feel rushed at meals.  Stopped at a buffet off I-40 in Oklahoma, and I was able to nibble comfortably for two hours!  And taking a shower in a place where I don't have to bother hanging up the towels for later   Its all about the little things....

Hi @AmandaJoy Welcome, and nice to meet you! Congratulations on your Self-Affirmation!  As you've already discovered you're in great company here on this Forum.  It took me 60+ years also.   I understand your thrill and desire to proceed full-steam-ahead but that you've already realized to meter your Journey.  So, I will just end with what I tell most new Members when they arrive ... Deep breaths ... One step at a time
