Breast Augmentation

Now this is for MTFs for since most of our experiences with hormones and such just are mostly up to how our own bodies handle the hormones are different that some feel that augmentation is the only way or are in too much of a hurry. This is coming from a friend of mine who also started the RLT around the same time I did decided that she wanted implants. Now given that is her decision and such but to me having implants were not for me so I decided to start looking into the augmentations that are available.

With the implants I have found that yes it does give the instant gratification that some people are in a hurry for but it does come at a cost. That cost is not only in the monetary sense but between 7-10 years I believe you will have to go back and have the operation touched up and also with implants I have found out that it will prolong the process of mammograms since you have a non natural substance inside of you that 4 -8 different shots will have to be made to get a complete reading.

With creams I can not put this any other way IT IS NOT WORTH IT to your health nor for money and just does not give you enough benefit since they do not work anyway in what those websites state for the recommended doses.

Breast forms are good in that there are varying sizes to choose from and that they are great confidence boosters at the beginning when one is starting their hormone regimen or just waiting for the letter. Unfortunately I do not know too much about the forms if one of the other members would like to offer their input about them that would be fabulous.

There is one other form of augmentation that I have come across and is not entirely stated for increasing one's breast size but it is stated it is for women who have had to undergo a masectomy due to cancer. This system is called Brava and utilizes a constant, gentle pull on your breasts to promote growth. Since this is promoting growth it does take time for one to see any form of improvement but it is stated that if worn for the full duration you should see an increase of 1 cup size though each and any person's experience may be different. This system costs considerably less than that of implants and is time consuming.

Now I know this is a long read but I thought to share my knowledge of the different augmentations that I have found so those who might have any inkling into haveing this done to know that there are different methods to choose from.

Baby.....

I just want to add one little thing to your post....OK?

Natal girls go through 2-5 years of breast growth .....

We will, too....

If one were to implant too soon, they would end up with with a real problem.....

Please be careful....

I vote for none of the above. Your best option, and I'm being serious, is to let the hormones do their job. You will have breast growth and it won't take as long as you would think. Many members on this site even have had good results with HRT. Rushing it is absolutely pointless. Maybe you'll feel some gratitude out of it, but it will do NOTHING for your societal appearance. I repeat, whether you have an A cup or a DD cup does not mean you are any more or less female in the public eye. In fact, if breast size were the determining factor in whether one is female or not, all women who had mastectomies due to cancer would be men. If you really want something to work on, focus on growing your hair, removing the facial variety, enhancing your voice, and expressing feminine mannerisms. I have seen documentaries of transsexuals who have massive breasts, yet when they walk and talk, they appear so manly it's frightening!

Thank you for the responses it is that I just wanted to let some of my sisters that will feel that it will be necessary to have the procedure done what is available and perhaps as you put it Anna and also Donna that it is sometimes best to wait and such before opting to have any augmentation done.

I'd like to add that breasts implants have a habit of ending-up both freightening and unnatural looking; and personally, I'd rather be flat than a monstrosity.

Perhaps being older gives me a different slant on this - as I have seven good friends that are post-op MTF. One is my oldest post-op friend and she advised me to have the augmentation (surgical). She says I will pass better if I have big boobs (kinda hit me wrong!) We both are tall and she said our frame needs a DD cup to look feminine.

The other six said no - they were happy with the HRT results. So I thought about it and talked with my therapist. Now let me add my therapist is a seasoned PhD and has had over 100 gender-dysphoric clients. So she has a good insight on what goes on. She said surgical implants were a pesonal choice. BUT she recommended waiting to see what development comes from a natural reaction to HRT.

So the situation is usually to wait a minimum of two years on HRT to see what happens. My therapist says it actually takes 6-7 years for the full results. And breast implants might look strange AFTER a full development occurs.

PERSONALLY - I expect it depends on the results obtained from the HRT (13 months for me - medium B). If after two years HRT you havea small A cup - well think about if that is okay with your body size and shape (which has feminized by then) or if you want more. It's like natal women - to decide to go through the risks and pain - for bigger boobs. What do you hope to accomplish? Natal women have a slightly differenent agenda from most T-Girls. That needs to be considered.

HUMMMMM

So I have good results - after a year, very good results. I expect this to slow down - but right now I don't expect to have implants. Later, if I do, it will be because I am making decisions based upon my life as a woman - not because of being a transperson.

Hope this helps

Lizzy

On the mechanical systems - I don't know. I DO know HRT is the only thing that really works - otherwise women would be using the creams and herbals - running around with big breasts! Most anyway.
