Michiganders, Beware Of Paul Scott:

Tessa,

I don't think your link is working very well, but this has been posted in at least two different threads so far. I believe he is running in the Republican primary for Attorney General of Michigan, so unless you want to register as a Republican in that state, it will hard to vote for someone else (you can't vote no in a primary, here).

The real issue is that the Republican Pary is not repudiating his views and that suggests that they tacitly agree with him. And I believe he is trying to appeal to a small minority that actually get out and vote for issues like 'family values', so all he wants to do is win the primary against other Republicans and he's trying to find an issue that will get those religious right supporters to the polls. Not much can be done against that right now. Have to see what happens in the primary.

I like this comment on the comments list of the news article posted...:

"I say Mr Paul Scott be put on the NO FLY LIST - he looks like a terrorist....I mean, no harm Mr Scott...it's a "Values" thing."

Who is he to judge? We're all different. Less than 200 years ago he wouldn't even be considered a human being, but now we know better.

All men (AND WOMEN) are created EQUAL.

If your 'family values' are torn apart because there are people in the world who change the gender on their drivers licenses, that is not a transgendered persons fault. It is your own fault for raising a family that is weak enough to crumble under the fact that sometimes a boy is born a girl and wants to be a boy, and vice versa.

We come in all shapes, sizes, colors, races, and beliefs. There are much more important things to discuss than the moronic 'values issues' he brought up. If Michigan is smart, and my state of being not-worried is right (XD) we have no reason to fear this persons bigoted beliefs having any merit in office. Even if the entire state had the most conservative beliefs against transsexuals, they should have the brains to realize he is dodging the TRUE issues here with baited attacks against his counterpart.

I live in America, I believe all men and women are created equal. No matter what their race. Their gender. Their heart. Their religion.

To suppress everyone who does not follow your pattern of beliefs, this would not be America.

Can you imagine living in a world where you were denied the right to live as a respectable citizen, just because you were a woman?

A black man?

A Jew?

A homosexual?

A Catholic?

A woman who is an unwed mother?

A man born with a sexually transmitted disease?

A big portion of the world does. But that's not America. I'm a crossdresser who loves living in a land where I can walk down the street and not be denied food, or be stoned for wearing pants--While the majority of Americans may not be like me, I can safely guess that most Americans bear a 'stigma' that, in another place, time, part of the world, could be considered TABOO and UNSAFE FOR FAMILIES.

TL;DR, you don't have to 'believe' transgendered people are actually the gender they live as. But keep your nose out of telling us what we can or cannot do to become what our hearts know we are.

Because we are all brothers, sisters, madam's and misters (and anyone in between!) in this big freaking melting pot.

We are allowed to think differently, so concentrate on punishing the people who kill each other, or sell drugs to kids, or rape little girls or hijack planes to terrorize Americans and make a REAL difference in our government.

U.S.A. U.S.A. U.S.A. BOOYA.

Rant over. Michael out. OK now 3, 2, 1 let's jam.
