What Am I?!?!

Hi :)

I'm on here as an SO, but my MTF girlfriend recently deciding to transition has made me uneasy about my own gender identity. Right from about age 4 I identified as a boy. (I'm a girl, physically at least). People often called me a boy not a girl, I has short hair and I played with boys toys. A little older I always would moan bout how in toy stores the aisles were 'boys' or 'girls' as if girls shouldn't play with the cool toys instead of those silly Barbies. I preferred boys clothes in the shops, but wore very girly clothes so I wouldn't look odd. When I was about 12 I was sure I wanted a sex change. I was meant to be a boy. I was definite of wanting a sex change right til I was 16. I hung out with the boys, still liked boy things, and hates silly stuff like shaving my legs.

When I turned 16 and started having sexual relationships I felt empowered as a girl. I dressed really girly to attract attention and people to like me and want me, and I kinda forgot about ever wanting to be a boy.

Now I'm quite a girly girl who likes to do her makeup and wear heels, but I still prefer mens clothes when I walk around stores. But the idea of taking male hormones and starting to have hair on my face and muscles and all those horrible thing boys have that make them not very nice to look at compared with girls is repuslive to me. My soft girly face shouldn't have horrible hair on it. But I do want a penis. And I do want to dress like a man. But as a woman sometimes too. SO CONFUSED.

Hope someone can shed some light on what I am! xxx

Hello Suzanne ,

First off hun , dont worry about your feelings . Most people

have similar questions about themselves at one time or another in their

lives ,in fact, thats the norm. I would strongly suggest you go see a Therapist

so you can clarify how you feel . On no account worry , these people have

heard it all before and your story wont be new . Why not get the ball rolling

this Monday and in the meantime you can talk to us here , we are here to

share our advice and friendship . luv,viv :)

Guest i is Sam :-)

There are people here who identify as both male and female, so I mean, you like some aspect of one and some of the other, it kinda sounds like were you born male, you'd be a cross dresser, soooo yeah, i mean if you are a guy, then i don't see why you couldn't be.

As far as downstairs is concerned, have you discussed the idea of various toys / apendages with your girl friend? She might well welcome such an addition to the bedroom.

Hey no problem hun, I live just across the road from you , Dublin , Ireland.

So , Therapist"s , normally a visit to your GP and a quick chat will put you

on the right road but Im gonna guess your heading for a Gender Therapist.

The UK is well set up re treating Trans folk and you will have no problem

finding treatment . Most of our Trans Women go to your place re **final**

surgery . There are a few British people on the forum and will give you

lots more advice when they see your post . One thing you will get here in

bucket loads is good advice hun so stay in touch with us , luv,viv :)

Sam, yeah I feel best in the bedroom when I have an 'apendage' as you put it!

I think I'm probably a cross dresser, but when I was younger it was more than that...

Viv, thanks. I will consider seeing a doctor, am just going to give myself some time to adjust to Danielle's transitioning and see if my feelings settle down. xxx

WELL

First off - you are you! That is perfectly okay! You may be gender dysphoric - your story is so typical.

BUT

You really need to find a therapist - one specializing in gender issues. We are only advisers here - and we are not trained to say what you are.

BUT

You are in the right place. Don't disappear- PLEASE. Stay with us!

I think we are gonna be a good thing for you. We understand 100% - and we understand immediately! We are NOT judgemental - and we moderate this site to keep it safe! Fair enough?

GRIN

I don't know what else to saw right now except that you sound very much like me... except that I I still very much feel like a man on the inside even though I can enjoy dressing like a girl and looking all pretty... but even while I am doing that I feel like a man in a dress.

Anyway, not sure what else to say but wanted to say that you sound a lot like me.

If you do sometimes feel like a boy and sometimes like a girl- then you might be bigendered. Some people do change between the two genders. I know some people who are just kind of fluidly between them, some who switch at various times of day or just have cycles of however long. :)

no ways i'm exactly in your shoes! i don't know how to do the proper quotey thingy (maybe some one can show me?) but it was like you were speaking about me here:

"Now I'm quite a girly girl who likes to do her makeup and wear heels, but I still prefer mens clothes when I walk around stores. But the idea of taking male hormones and starting to have hair on my face and muscles and all those horrible thing boys have that make them not very nice to look at compared with girls is repuslive to me. but i only really started listening to all this a few months ago, i just want to say it's great to know that not only are there others out there in similar sitautions but others that understand completely. best of luck!

I could be described, I suppose, as a RWNJ.   A little stereotyping seems to be going on.  Don't complain about Trans stereotypes if you turn around and stereotype others.  A lot of RWNJs are actually decent people and get called that by people who pick up on one or two alleged beliefs.  I would rather single out influential individuals of whatever camp and call them to correction.   Trans folk are a small minority, even as small minorities go.  There are probably a lot more RWNJs running around than there are trans folk.

They cut a lot of trees here as well.  A lot of them toward the coast end up chipped up and sent to Europe to burn in power plants.  That bothers me, seems like a dumb idea.

Most likely.   Unfortunately this was expected.  I expect it will be the norm in any GOP controlled state that hasn't already done it.  So much effort expended against so few.  I certainly haven't seen my area being overrun by trans kids.   And yeah, I fully expect them to go after my HRT next. I think those that are railing against us are much more dangerous than some non-binary high school sophomore.

Her name is Sunny and she is so much fun. But, as you said @KymmieL, it is a challenge with a new puppy. Thankfully our 13 year old Lab is taking the addition in stride and being supremely tolerant.

It should be the league's business whether it allows trans women to play, not the park's.   (They seem to be inclusive - good on them)

Sticking my neck out here, but that's what I see the RWNJ's doing all the time! They always need someone or something to "fight". Everything is a contest to them; there's always a battle to be had, an opponent to defeat, a dragon to slay, then another, and another.    *Sigh* if only they'd put their energy into working with people instead of against them.

I think i became much more emotional overall.  Perhaps because use a topical E i haven't had the swings that some folks feel but i can laugh  and cry so much easier, sometimes over situations i would never have seen before.  Perhaps my age has something to do with it, but i am also much more peaceful and accepting of the storm life keeps presenting.   Hugs,   Charlize

I think the interpretation of the question is always going to provide a wide array of answers. Do I have a rich inner life? Yes! Why? Good question!   Circumstances often dictate how we feel within ourselves. I don't have to deal with work anymore and we've been jus' cruzin ever since. I don't have to fix anything, literal or otherwise. My wife and I live a relatively simple life and we are true partners, but deep inside, I'm not answerable to anyone except myself. So, how's that going? Well, since I came out to myself, which happened before I stopped working, I have felt an inner glow that was never apparent before. It is permanent now and it sustains me. How? Effed if I know! All I know is that even if I have down days, and there certainly have been a few, my heart, mind and soul are still smiling. I think it comes from a realization that I am finally happy just to be me.
    • Charlize
I had to look this acronym up.  That certainly has never been part of the LGBTQ community!  Politicians simply attempt to use peoples disgust to create the hate or fear they can "fight" against to win support and power.   Hugs,   Charlize

Congrats, @April Marie on your new fur kid. As the mom to a 1 yr old fur kid. I know what you are going through. LOL.   Back to work after a good weekend. I hope that work doesn't drag my good weekend down. However, I believe it is wishful thinking. I will do the best that I can, if that is not enough. They can jump in a fing lake.   I have another week until my therapist appointment. So I hope I can make it. it seems my depression is getting worse. Can it, is there something lower that major?  Especially when dealing with work. So, I know I have to get out of there. I have put in for the parts at the local GM. Probably, be like Ford. OH, well nothing ventured nothing gained.      Hope everyone has a good day. Hugs, Kymmie

If what you mean by defemination  is that folks are doubting or refusing to believe your feminity i'm sure others here have felt that.  I know i have in the past.  It seems to be part of the continuous attempt by some to see us all quietly hiding in the closet.   I don't fit in there anymore.   Hugs,   Charlize
    • Mirrabooka
      Yay!!! 😀 What's her name?
    • Mirrabooka
Yep, I can see that too, especially if satire goes wrong.  I can totally understand why the uneducated hoi polloi think that gender identity and sexual preference (and now, pedophilia) are one and the same, and it weaponizes their bigotry. I touched on this in another thread recently when I asked the question whether the LGBTQIA+ umbrella was actually too inclusive and should be split, in an attempt to stop this sort of nonsense. I don't know the answer; while I think it is important for non-cis and non-het folk to band together, it leaves us wide open to attack.

Good morning, everyone!   Sorry I've been absent so much. I truly miss the interaction with you all.    We have a new yellow Lab female puppy in the house as of Saturday so it's a challenge to find time to be here as we get her settled into a schedule, work on housebreaking and training, etc.    So, I'll check in as I can...when I can get a few minutes as she sleeps.   She slept 6 hours last night so we're making progress and we've been attentive to her schedule so no accidents in the house as of now.   She's consistently following the Sit command already - the wonder of puppy treats.    Be safe!!
