The thing is if they want to force a vote on the definition of marriage thats fine. If they come up with something like DOMA its not ok but lets keep our eyes on the prop8 case in California since it is likely to have a far ranging impact on things like DOMA and DADT. It is a well known fact both sides want this prop 8 case to end up in the supreme court but its questionable if that court would grant it Certariori and hear it. If they do, the defence case is so weak that I dont see how there are any LEGAL merits to up hold the Het only version of marriage.

So this would make it legal for kids in Iowa to do what? Stone another kid provided it was because he was gay? Or just verbal torture?

This is beyond disgraceful, why the hell is there even a list of reasons why you cannot bully or harrass someone, when the heck is it ever acceptable? Well apparently if you're gay, trans or i dunno, if you don't like runner beans, hey they don't specifically mention that you can't bully someone for their food preferences.

How the heck do these people dare sign their names on these things? I seriously hope they run into the business end of a gang of gay street toughs. (yes that's a seinfeld reference)

Did you read all the way down the page? It starts to make more sense, in a completely twisted way, in this context:

They care so much about getting rid of same sex marriage that they're willing to throw basic protections away for a commonly targeted group of children. Despicable.
