I really want to give up. I even have alcohol sitting in front of me. And then I just stare at it and can't bring myself to drink it. Then I feel lame and worse about myself.

get rid of it already, don't tease yourself with the temptation. Ditch it and feel proud.

I hope you feel better today. I am glad you tossed the alcohol for a DP. It may not have the effect but it is better for you. You should probably think about getting rid of all the temptations so that there are not relapses.
