Ok, I am new to all this,,, when I say new, I mean never did this before. Well, once a long time ago when I was staying at my Dad's GF's place for the evening while she was away I put on some of her makeup (had no idea what I was doing, just winged it) found some clothes and shoes that fit, she had a small wig that I put on and bravely, I went out of her apt. got in my car and just drove around a bit. Scared and excited at the same time.

That was years ago, I was much younger. After spending Saturday night in our local gay bar and spending the entire evening talking to a crossdress and having drinks, I came home and started thinking how fun it would be to go out as a crossdresser. She was cute but it was not hard to tell she was a guy. What I loved about the whole night was how friendly she was and how everyone was so friendly to her. Both guys and girls. I loved the way the guys hit on her and basically how the girls flirted with her. I made up my mind that I wanted to do that one day.

So I went online and found a lady in Atlanta who has a little business where you pay her and you arrive at her place and stay over for the night. She has a little B&B. She spends about 3 hours making you up, dressing you (she has everything there in lots of sizes and said she had my size, no problem.. size 12 dress, 11 shoe, etc.. wigs corsets, etc.. So she spends the time with you getting you ready, spends time helping you get used to your new look and new feminine ways, helps you with walking and mannerism and what not. Then, we both go out to dinner in her town there where she knows the places that are CD friendly and perhaps do a little shopping.

The end of the evening we spend at her place or I am welcome to go out by myself if I wish. But the rest of the evening I am welcome to stay in my fem look.. the next day we say goodbye..

Hopefuly all will go well, she seems very confident and has had many many clients over the years and has seen many types come in and out. She even ofers makeovers for those who have thier own clothes and just want to get made up before going out for the evening. Something that sounds fun to me.

My hope is that everything will go well and one day I can meet another CD in Atlanta who will want to go out with me have some fun in the local scene.

I am very excited and nervous about the whole ordeal. Last night I shaved my legs, my arms and my armpits so I am smooth all over and it feels great.

Any advice is welcome.

Oh, and part of the package includes a photo shoot with about 150 images.

Hi Zoe - I see this is a first post - but because it is in the best forum for what you wrote I left it here.

Welcome to Laura's by the way.

And I know what you say - I have seen those places advertised and I think that they would be a lot of fun.

You need to explore your feelings and learn about yourself - and wouldn't it be good to meet others?

Good luck! If you decide to do this trip - PLEASE come back and tell us all about it!

When you feel comfortable - come back and introduce yourself in the 'introductions' forum. Lotta good people here - you will be warmly welcomed!

oh - advice? DO IT!

Thank you Lizzy, I will take that advice. I have been struggling with the cost and wondering if I should spend the money, but I think I should, I really want to do it and have been thinking about it a lot.

I was hoping to get more responses and hear what more people had to say.

Hello, Zoey,

Welcome to the forums - I am going to offer you some cookies and a cup of hot cocoa so relax and enjoy yourself.

I would tell you to go and enjoy the evening - you will be so much less self conscious and less frightened so it would be a great way to get going.

I just went out on my own in the middle of the day in a big city all alone, pretty scary!

Enjoy it and let us all know how it went,

Welcome to the family.

Love ya,

Sally

Zoey, someone close to me has also done the same type of package in Las Vegas. She tells me she has had an absolutely wonderful time.

She and her wife have gone out to see shows and hit the casinos, and just loved the professional makeup job and pampering. I've seen her

photos and she looks gorgeous.

Hopefully your person runs just as professional and supportive a business, so I think your experience should be just as good.

I wish you all the luck in the world for an exciting and memorable adventure. Do tell us all about it.

Thanks,, I am worried now about the money, its not terribly expensive.. $200 plus dinner.. I really want to do it but then there are bills and child support and mortgage and car payment, blah blah blah..

I am going to make my mind up tomorrow.. most likely... I will do it.

I dont think I am going to make a very pretty girl, however. I have a friend of mine who has some of her clothes here.. of course they are smaller than what I would normally wear but I found a skirt that fit and a blouse that I was able to fit into.. a bra that I stuffed with socks, panties and some high heels that were too small for me.. I have to say, it was not a pretty sight.

Well, I didn't go. But thats ok.. I am not out $300 and I can definitely use that money in these hard times I am going through. Anyway, if I wait, that will give me a chance to continue on the exercise program I am on and maybe lose a couple of inches in my belly and I will feel more confident in my looks when I do dress up and go out. I just hate having this belly.. I am not particularly big and overweight, its just when I get out of shape and gain weight, it all goes to my belly, no where else (well my face shows up a little rounder but not bad)

So I think I will make my goal to be 165,, that is the weight when I looked my best,, right now I am 185, so 20lbs is what I need to lose.. probably take a while.

Zoey,

I will never tell anyone what they should or shouldn't do (unless is life threatening) those choices are up to you.

But I will tell you that so many of us older girls put this off for so long because we knew we would not be pretty - go to Donna Jean's profile and look at her albums and ask yourself - "Why did this woman think that she wasn't going to make a believable woman?"

I will tell you that we never see ourselves as others do and if we did we would start the transition from that second forward.

I always knew that I could never pass but I have never had a problem.

Don't talk yourself out of anything because you won't be pretty enough - you are pretty, that comes from within and not all natal women are fashion models either.

Love ya,

Sally

Good afternoon everyone,   I often wondered why @April Marie and @Willowgot up so early in spite of being retired. Now that I have my own puppy as a house pet I get it. We haven't had dogs since before my oldest granddaughter was born 22 years ago this September. I've always had working hunting dogs, and it was important they became acclimated to the current weather conditions. While the kennels had large outdoor runways, they also had pet passes into the somewhat temperature controlled garage. Yes, they were allowed in the house but only for short periods of time. Fast forward to present time, and I'm potty training a puppy as well as crate training. The first night Parker Von Schwinegruber, slept from 10:30 until 05:30. Last night we went to bed and 10:30 and he started making noise at 05:00. Since I don't want to test his ability to hold his business, we got up and went outside. He took care of business and we went back to sleep. This time he had a dental chew bar and I filled his water bowl. We cat napped until 08:00 and then got up for the day taking him immediately outside. He took care of business, and we played fetch and tug of war with his now favorite puffball. We came in and I put him back in the crate positioned so he could see me cook breakfast. Did he NO HE WENT TO SLEEP! We ate breakfast, did the dishes, and finished off the pot of coffee I brewed at 08:00. Once he woke up we stared at one another for about 20 minutes, because he seemed content to be in the crate. I got up and we worked on some obedience training as well as getting into and out of the crate with permission. We don't want him to crash the gate or any doors we will be going through.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I have not heard about it here in California, but then again we have events of various sorts going on very often, and not just in the June Pride Month.  We have Trans Fashion Week going on at a hotel complex over in West Los Angeles for the next three nights featuring shows by Trans fashion designers and modeled by Trans and NB people on the runways there.  I missed a chance for some free tickets and while I know and love many of the participants I do not want to pay for the tickets which will be in the $50 to $75 range, and which at those prices are nearly sold out.  (Not to mention $25 valet parking each night at the venue complex.).  There will be actual high end fashion buyers there though and it is an area where we are gaining some good footing.  I also admit that NONE of the fashions are going to be anything at all that would fit my basic personal style but look fine if not crazy on my much younger Trans siblings who will model them. (Ok everyone else keep on @Mirrabooka's topic.)

Welcome to TransPulseForums @gizgizgizzie    I hope you find this place as helpful as I do. I’m also in a slow transition living in the androgynous world. I’m out to my grown children and my extended family with mixed support from them. Some have cut me out of their lives and others want me to be their flamboyant family member.    Best wishes, stay positive and motivated    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Accidents happen.  So do heat-of-the-moment murders, without premeditation or trans-related hate.  It will take a trial to really figure it out.     One thing we can see from this is that it is people in our circles of acquaintances, friends, and partners who are the ones who usually hurt us.  Not someone random. We have to be careful who we trust.

Friday May 17th is IDAHOBIT (International Day Against HOmophobia, BIphobia and Transphobia).   Do you acknowledge or celebrate it? Do you do anything special for it, like taking part in any organized events or activities?   I'm not an activist and I prefer to fly under the radar, but I am slowly becoming aware of important dates. I have been aware of the date of IDAHOBIT for a few weeks now, but other important 'rainbow' dates have not been etched into my brain yet.    I will wear my favorite pride t-shirt as a token acknowledgement of the day, but it probably won't be seen; cool weather here will mean that it will be hidden under a sweater.

Happiness for me comes from being cognizant of the things that make me feel good.   Sunshine.   Pandering to my inner woman.   Knowing that some people in my life really 'know' me.   Vacations, and Eggs Benedict at an alfresco cafe.   My wife and I being telepathic.   Grandchildren.   Music.   Wine!

True.  Every trans death is not a hate crime. There is so much hate expressed by some people, that we kinda get to expect it.

happiness to me is being ME. At all times, and it has yet to happen.

Hello & welcome, giz! Your post makes me remember how excited I was to join here too. I also had queer friends at the time I joined, but any of my trans friends lived a long distance away. So most local queer friends are gay & I felt uncomfortable coming out to them bc I couldn't assume they'd understand genderqueerness. So it was a thrill to join here and immediately have access to do many wonderful, genuine, kind & thoughtful friends-to-be.   Are you saying you're concerned that if you come out to your queer friends that somehow your parents will find out?     My love, I just want to affirm that that's not a weird dysphoria. It's just dysphoria. And we definitely get it. You're in good company here!     Look forward to seeing you around here & getting to know you. I shoot for androgynous appearance as well, leaning towards masculine.   Hope you're having a splendid day!

Listening to a YouTube mix for me and this song came up and I immediately fell in love again and just want to play music with like minded musicians playing OUR music and feel the joy and fulfillment even if no one else gets it. I love to fall into the music....
