WOW....

Macho countries like Iran and Cuba paying for SRS and civilized, forward thinking democracies like the USA are still in the stone age as far as covering SRS is concerned.

Taking care of our people (of any sort) is actually a very low priority....

War seems to take precendence...

To dang bad.....

Well that strikes a blow against the US getting any sort of Universal Health Care - we don't want it and if they are accepting transsexuals so we must banish us altogether - Soon we will have our own island.

Anybody know how to make a radio out of coconuts?

Seriously it is a giant step forward for Cuba, we should be so progressive in this area.

Love ya,

Sally

Just shows that if Cuba can afford universal health care then so can we. Just rich republicans afraid of taxes and the people who eat up their every word who are against it

Can you get a free sex change in Canada?

Well, it's not technically free [blahblablah taxes]- but I believe SRS is (or was) covered by healthcare in Canada like in the UK.

I would take care if you use Iran as an example to show that USA are still in the stone age. What I heard about the SRS in Iran is not nice. If you are gay you have two options:

1. To hang on a gibbet.

2. Change your sex.

So their are gay men in Iran who loves men but don't want to be women. They are forced to make SRS because the other option is death. They don't have the freedom to choose what they want.

Greetings

I know that's the case, in Iran, Nelly...I was just making a point, though....

In Iran, If one is gay, they can have the change or leave the country...(or hang, as you said) ...

Thanks ...

Soon we will have our own island.

Sounds nice, Sally. I'll take living on a desert island over living in this stinking desert. I'll be the lady reading on the beach in my sarong drinking a mai tai.

I have located my old high school friend on Facebook and outed to him about three months ago - he seemed okay with it, but never did ask too many questions. He and I exchange stuff by email, jokes mainly.

Today he sent me this same news release on Cuba. I wrote and thanked him. He does lurk on Facebook because sometimes he will email me something related to something I said only at that site.

I think following my progress is a hobby! GRIN. My own old best friend is a stalker!

Cuba makes do with what resources they have and uses it wisely. Transgender men and women are very involved in their communities.

San Francisco began paying for sex changes for city and county employees in 2001

This whole article is awesome but that caught my eye too. I'd been looking for that piece of information for ages!
