I'm new here, and I am glad to see two things. First that younger members are welcome here, and more importantly that the owner and moderators are protecting them.

Keep up the good work.

umm, just to let anyone know who doesn't already, he's hit the trueselves forum too under the name "marriedtgdad" (where weirdly enough he posted regularly) :( and apparently a couple of other boards as well. i suppose there are just some people whom you have to *really* watch out for, because they are to some extent dangerous and will take whatever guise they can.

well, take care everyone

Yeah Mr CrackHead :D was just banned from BL after only about 4 days. Screen name there was Johnny2Johnnie. Interesting the mods used a reference from here as proof of his identity (although they claimed to have multiple sources).

How to avoid pedo's 101: don't post your pics (or ones showing your face), give out your address/phone/etc, don't invite to see them. That's about it :/

I suggested they do a google search on the e-mail name. Something that should be done on all new members. I find that many people who are dangerous open a yahoo account just before applying for membership..

Yes I was done playing with them. Now I will list Predators emails exactly for that reason so other sites can catch them too. Beats emailing site owners. I am hoping Making Predator information public will deter them from coming here. Hopefully other sites will do the same.

Just had a look on your public profile, your Yahoo username is not given, so perhaps you gave it out on a forum at some point?

Also remember that you're a member of multiple forums and so is he. So he could have gotten your info here OR from any of those others forums.

Wow, thank god you all found him! I feel much better knowing the administrators here really crack down on security. I hear about people like him on the news but knowing he was looming nearby in the forums is creepy!

There is a common mistake many Transgender people make in their instant messenger profiles like yahoo, MSn and aol which is to list themsleves as Transgender. While most do this to talk to others like them it often draws the wrong kind of attention from the wrong people. Your profile is usually public to any member registered on the instant messenger (Yahoo, Msn)and is serachable. This means transgender admirers and predators can find you. If you don't want that type of attention MTF's should list themselves as female. Even that may get you a few date offers and maybe even a marriage proposal or two. Women are used to that, we usually aren't. Also don't list your zipcode city or state when possible in your user name.

On the Internet be aware of the privacy policies of any site you join by registering on. Reputable sites will post their policy. Many porn sites and others for instance make your email public and therefore searchable by Google. Member profiles here are not searchable by Google as they only have public guest access here. Only other members can see what you want them to see. We recommend that users here choose in their profiles to turn the option for other members to see your email off. I wish everyone would do this. Listing your Instant messengers is entirely up to you and is optional, not required. Most IM's provide you with blocking ability for anyone you don't wish to talk to. In fact even here you can block anyone from Pming you.

Here you can be as anonymous as you want to be. We don't sell your information like some sites do to third parties. You won't be emailed here as part of a mailing list or newsletter. Only those that write to us are responded to. We don't need to know who you are (real identity) in order to help you. In fact we prefer not to. That's your business. Annonymity is essential to our members here. We hold this as a sacred trust.

Sexual Predators though are a different story and not covered by our protections. As a deterrent we will post their information. This though has only happened twice in 4 years. So for the most part it works at protecting our users.

:)

I used to live in WV and the town we lived in, the local Newspaper was like a Scandal Sheet. One day, I noticed this entry where a lady was arrested for Solicitation. Not only did they list her, but listed all her clients Names and Addresses. There were a lot of embasserst people that day.

People like this has to be exposed to the public, so that the public will be aware of them. It might be a little embarresment, but worth it in the long run.

One point that we keep plugging away at, but bears repeating, never give your personal contact details out, also, there is an option on your user profile to NOT show email, make sure this is ticked please, it's one of those settings that seems to be set to show rather than keep private by default.

I don't know what Root Admins can and can't do, but if it's a continuous risk, can you not just remove that option altogether somehow?

It's five months on now, but it's good that you made it public. Case-in-point, as it were. The fact that it actually happens is a great way to make the message hit home.

It has been brought to our attention that crackdegghead is still trolling transgender sites looking for victims. Laura has stated many times that it is not safe to leave your email or messenger addresses on your profiles. While profiles can be seen only by members it's possible that he could join with a different name and IP address and would therefore have access to your information. While we try to screen applicants for membership to the best of our abilities, sometimes a troll/predator can slip through. Be very careful of who you give your email and messenger addresses to, especially if it's someone you don't know. If someone starts sending you PM's or emails that don't seem appropriate, let an administrator or moderator know at once. I would urge everyone, right now, to go to their profile and remove your messenger username. Don't make it easy for these predators to get at you. The safety of our members is our first priority and we intend to keep it that way.

Following on from MaryEllen's comments above, it is not possible to remove your email address from the system, HOWEVER, it is possible, and highly recommended that you go to your "My Controls", move down the page until you see Options on the left hand side, and click on Email Settings and make sure the first option IS ticked. The one saying "Hide my email address from other members" This will stop anyone publically viewing your email address.

I was exploring the forums and found this thread. I want to thank you so much for watching out for us and taking care of us here. It is so nice to come to a safe place where we can be ourselves and help and learn from each other. Saying this is making me cry because I am thankful. :)

Security is an important saftey concern here. A Child predator and kiddie pornographer has been caught here Pm ing our teens users. We have deleted his account. He did manage to pm some teen users before we caught him. His information is being turned over to the FBI. When you recieve a PM that makes you uncomfortable please PM a staff member immediatly. Predators and admirers are not allowed here under any circumstances.

His ID was crackdegghead (74.135.51.167) [email protected]. This man is to be considered dangerous.

In all my years running sites and servers, this is the first time I have added someone (whose not even been on my site) to a ban list. Thanks Laura for the information about here and to whom everelse gave information about other user names (would have been interesting to see the ip from BL). For what its worth the person's ip gives the following information when traced 75-135-51-167.dhcp.insightbb.com; however when I try to look further I get a destination unreachable message. This can be caused by many things and doesnt mean that the company supplying his ip has gone out of business.

Laura if you have any other suspicious IP's please pm or email me with them and I will see what I can find out for you.

Tension is not a well-understood psychological state. It can be both positive and negative, much like stress itself. A 2015 research paper on the theoretical framework of tension notes it's an anticipatory emotional state which tends to be associated with: conflict.

I'd love to have a dinner party with Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Voltaire, and Ayn Rand.  Would definitely be an interesting time.

In the forward I learn that transgenderism is bad, and somewhere else that transgender ideology is bad.  I have not yet read a definition of either in the document.  I assume they are the same.  I know Focus on a Family has a definition of transgenderism on their website, or did, but I am not sure this is the same as that.  I might agree that transgenderism is bad if they use a definition I condemn (e.g. transgenderism means you always pour ketchup in your shoes before you put them on - I could not agree to that).  Is someone who believes in transgenderism, whatever it is, a transgenderist? I never see that term.  There may be other definitions out there, but I don't think there is an Official Definition that we all agree to.

Crazy fact, was gonna go to the school where this went down at before I moved, have a lot of friends there. I know at least one of my friends met the guy on one occasion, not knowing who it was.

They are thinking of Loudon.  The problem there was the girls were not protected from a known predator, who was moved from one school to another instead being effectively disciplined.  Outlaw school administrators? <sarc>

How ironic.  I agree with the governor "“You cannot change your gender; you cannot pick your gender…there is a confused group of people that somehow think you can,”    - we are what we are, we are fighting the fact we CANNOT change our gender, which we did not pick.  Many if not all of us would not have picked a trans condition and have sought to evade, deny or move out or resolve it anyway we can.  Those who are confused on this issue are not trans folk.  They want us to change our gender but they deny we can.  Confusion.

@FinnyFinsterHH no one can satisfy your questions about what will the future hold. But I can advise you to slow your mind down as much as you're able. Take it slow and one moment at a time. This advice goes beyond the practical reality that that's truly all you can do - further, try to enjoy each moment. It's clear you have a lot of aspirations regarding transition. But it's best to try to accept the bounds of your life circumstances at present because if you develop worries or even resentments about them, that will only make you bitter and more anxious. Instead, try to focus on anything you find affirming. Practice positive self-talk and give yourself affirmations too. Try to let go of expectations of your family members - they can only deal with change to the capacity they're able due to their own life conditions. Allow them grace as you wish they would allow you. Practice patience.   Try this exercise - read through your post and make one list of the positive developments and another of things you cannot control (including the future). If you have a sense of spirituality, offer the second list as a sacrifice to however you understand a higher power - leave it in their hands. If you're not spiritual, then offer it up to hope. Then throw that list away. Keep the list of positives and leave some room on it because guaranteed you'll have more and more to add. Look forward to that, but don't let your mind think it can rush things. Try to enjoy the ride.

I still have not read much of this.  Very little of this document pertains to trans folk.  Some of the statements are more than problematic concerning trans folk.   It certainly was not written just to get us.   " those with gender dysphoria should be expelled from military service."  and "Reverse policies that allow transgender individuals to serve in the military. Gender dysphoria is incompatible with the demands of military service,"  https://static.project2025.org/2025_MandateForLeadership_CHAPTER-04.pdf are two lines out of hundreds if not thousands regarding the Department of Defense, targeting trans folk in an almost off-hand manner.    So if a fighter pilot, say, or a ship's captain, highly experienced and trained at enormous expense, is determined to be transgender (method unknown) the US loses someone badly needed due to the personnel shortage who is ready, willing and able to perform their duties.  Many trans folk have served well and transitioned later.  I don't think this point is well thought out.    A number of policy recommendations I would disagree with.  I am not sure there is a method to discuss those with the authors; I am attempting to find out.  I have good conservative creds.    They are fully intending to implement this, regardless of who the president is, as long as that president is conservative. It is not Trump centered.  I don't think he had anything to do with it.
