Hello!

My name is Tamara Valla, I am an older member of the Transgender community and thought I would branch out to other sites and see what else I could learn.

I am a licensed Cosmetologist in Washington State, a Certified MAC makeup artist, and a permanent makeup artist, work dressed pretty much daily, and have a great time.

I will write more as I get more accustomed to this site.

Hey, Girlfriend...welcome to the Playground!

Gee, I looked at your pic and you look lovely...beautiful hair...OMG!

Hon, please have a seat and I'll get you some hot coco and some of Sally's cookies...

There, now...

As far as reading the rules, I saw you there so I won't even mention it...(Oops! I just did....)

Just get all settled in and the others will be right by to say "Hi!" to you, too!

Honey, I'm an Ohio girl and you'll have to explain what A "MAC" Makeup artist is....OK?

Hey, and don't be afraid to tell us more about yourself....OK?

I'm Donna Jean, 60 and married....

It's so nice to have you here with us....

HUGGS!

Welcome to the Playground, Tami.

We have a lot of resources that you might find useful here, and we can certainly use advice from someone who

has experience and training in the world of makeup and fashion. This is one of the friendliest and most inclusive

sites for TG folks around (so we've been told) and the members are friendly and supportive.

I hope you enjoy your stay.

Dee Jay - I think MAC is a cosmetics company in this context. It's where I get updated on my concealers - excellant place to do it - and they seem to welcome diversity as I am usually male mode when I go.

And Tami

Looking good girl! I also am older, MTF in transition - age 62 - but not in the beauty industry. Lot of us older people here - especially the MTF's

And I do hope you read the rules a bit? We are glad to have someone experienced. And we like to ask that you share what know - but also if you feel you need to ask anything - please do. This site is very diverse, and if you are like me, its fun to look and learn how others cope with different versions of gender dysphoria.

WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME

Thank you all for the warm welcome. For those of you that don't know me, and why should you? I am just another one of those folks out there doing their thing. I am 61, married for 26 years, have owned and operated wig stores, have an extensive wig collection (duh!) and went to beauty school as a guy a few years ago to begin working in the public dressed.

MAC stands for Makeup Artist Cosmetics, which is one of the large typical makeup companies out there. I have taken all the classes available for MAC makeup artists and have become an Instructor for MAC a couple of years ago. During vacations and absences of employees I work either MAC stand alone stores or MAC counters in department stores, but generally work in my salons.

I used to own a transformation studio where I worked with MtF and FtM clients but shut it down and now work in regular somewhat avant garde beauty salons. I am dressed for work every day that I work, tend to really irritate some of the co-workers that seem to be on the sloven side. My approach is to be as totally feminine at all times. It seems to have worked. During last holiday season I worked the fragrance/cosmetics counter, many times for 12 hours in 5 inch heels. The hardest part was getting to work at 5AM, I live an hour away, and you know it takes a bit to get ready. Wow!

I will make assumptions about this site until I am corrected, I have read the rules and am active on other sites as well. I do have over 2000 pictures on my Flicker site and over 10,000 on my web site, yes I am obsessive...

Any other questions?

Good to have you here, yet another older MTF - I'm 58 - was married - that failed and here I am the biggest tongue wager on the entire site.

Welcome to the friendliest place on Earth!

You are part of our family now.

Love ya,

Sally

Ohh Ratts

I was going to tell Donna Jean that a "Mac" artist was someone that painted "Big Macs" for "Mc Donalds" commercials.

Just to see if she would believe me. ;)

Ohh well I guess I should have gotten here sooner. :P

Anyways, Welcome to the family, so nice to meet you. :D
