Gone Crazy And Cut Off My Long Hair

emotions have been running wild the past week or so. i've kind of snapped. so i went and got my hair cut, i was utterly sick of it. it looked really great earlier but i washed it and didn't bother styling it, i'll put up a new pic of how it looks properly soon. i feel like a different person. as you can see i dyed it too. i don't even recognise myself, this is how i should look. but i've been running along with how i thought people wanted me to look for so long, instead of what i felt i should look like. i'm happy i've finally done this. i do miss my long hair though of course, but feel much freeer now. what do you all think? if you don't like it that's ok too, i don't get hurt or offended simply because some one was being honest.

But, I must say, that new cut and color really looks good on you!

You do need to put up a pic of you with it styled the way you might wear it.

But, I see nothing wrong with how it is now.....

i've shaved my hair from shoulder length numerous times over a decade at least 5 times i can count..and once hair reaching to my back

and i always ended up regretting and grew it back and now it's shoulder length again yet itching to chop it all off again. enjoy while you still have shorter hair because your hair will grow again and you'll love it as just as much.

i might add that that's pretty awesome haircut and i never had the guts to dye my hair.

Looks nice. I think it emphasizes your jaw, which looks masculine and quite an asset.

I recently chopped all mine off from shoulder length too Very Very short now...

Ive also dyed my hair 5 times in the last 3 months. bright pink, bright purple, White blond, Fluro orange, and chocolate brown with a pink and purple fringe. i cant stop dyeing it >_>

Seems like you were in the same boat as me, I'm mostly keeping it long cuz I'm still terrified of what my mother would say and of what other people are gonna think. But I'm realizing that it's my hair, not theirs, and I'm the one that should like it. I'm glad you like it and did what you wanted to.

Your post gives me hope (and excitement). I have long hair right now and have been aching to get it cut, obsessing over short hairstyles and wondering how it would feel. I keep chickening out of hair cuts because I worry what people might think, and on some days I like the long hair, but I want to cut it so badly. Your bit above makes me want to cut it more. Especially the line "I've been running along with how I thought people wanted my to look for so long, instead of what I felt I should look like". If you can do it, I can do it. Fingers crossed I force myself into a salon chair soon.
