How To Look More Man, Less Boy

Not really. (any advice that is)

Unfortunately, it kind of is the nature of the situation to an extent  - At least for a while, until the T not only masculinizes but allows for the whole "puberty" thing to turn into "just turnin into an old man" you have the "joy"of

those boyish good looks. Comfort is, we all have it till then.

Best advice? Choose your gear, accessories and demeanor to reflect a more mature age BUT BE CAREFUL that it doesn't sling you into the "aging a small levee" (cuz some people will be like "no way are you that clean faced and that old unless you ain't a dude) click

Kierrksen, you may have heard this before but have you considered a different hair cut? I know that what you have now is the current younger style, but maybe that might help. I used to keep my hair longer like yours. I thought it hid the roundness of my face better and I really wanted to take attention away from the feminine shape, however I took the leap on the encouragement of my wife and I think it actually helped. Not saying buzz cut or anything, just less fluffy. I’d be candid with a hair stylist or whoever does your hair so you didn’t get a feminine short cut, but I was surprised how my stylist knew what would work well with the shape of my face and bring out my masculinity. Besides this, as Evan said it’s a tough place to be in pre-T. I've been on T for a few years now and to glance at me, you'd probably say 17 or 18 (I'm 22) however, I had a co-worker who based on my attitude and mannerisms honestly thought I was late 20's so be confident with what you do have. If you think you’re a regular guy and have the confidence there, people will follow your lead. Good luck.

Yea, i keep my act about my current age. But usually can pull it off. I can't openly act like a guy. I haven't come out to anyone...or atleast been taken seriously.

As goes for my hair. My mom gets angry when i do something do boyish. I straighten my hair sometimes which takes out the poof and makes me look older. I am only 16. So i am not aiming to look like 20, just not 12 :P

:P You're worrying waaay too soon. You'll find out there's guys almost 40 tryin not to look 12. You're fine. Besides, I had a natal male cousin that looked 12 till he was almost 20-at those ages you can work with it

Thanks :)

I guess you are right. There are some feminine things about me, but it kind of works. I am never really a manly man in my mind. Just somewhere in between.

I don't know, but I thought you might like an opinion from a girl.

I don't think you look twelve, and I'm not a stalker, creeper-skeezoid or anything, but I think you're hot! ;)

Dang

I see a hot guy - and more like 18 or so.

The FTM I know (at GLBT meetings) are really looking good when the facial hair starts coming in.

Just my opinion!

Awh thanks.

I really like how i look as a guy. I can't wait to start things. I have to come out first.

Well i have confidence. I have a kinda deeper voice and can sound like a guy with out T. So i am really hoping all of this will go okay.

If i get Top surgery and do T i will make videos and what not.

Don't worry about looking 12. You're only 16. Some bio guys look like kids at 20. If it's any consolation to you, I can show you some of my pics and I'm nearly 20.

For your age, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I do think it's funny that younger people want to look older and us older people work hard to try and look younger. You might be one of those baby-faced guys who gets carded for things even though you're well above the legal age. I say...ride that gravy train!

Kirrksen,

I am a mtf and was asked for ID to buy cigarettes until 36. I now realize that it is my facial bone structure that gave everyone the impression of youth. I lack the strong jaw line, brow/forehead slope of typical males. I am thankful now, but for years I hated it. I am not sure of your age but if your under 25 your bones may change with hormones. This is a wild suggestion, but for me the only sign of my age is graying hair. Try a little gray around your ears/sideburns. It may help.

Huggs,

Cut your hair short, that way you look a bit older. It is good to look young though and you should enjoy it while you still can. Once you are old, you are old.
