So you couldn't be a natal male and ever be impotent? (playing the devils advocate) You would tell them to cut it off and send it back if viagra had to be in your future? Skip the reattachment if Larenna Bobbit were your exwife? Think about it.

I could be a natal male and be impotent. I guess its more a combination of wanting to get up on my own and have it look right. The natal males that had the same surgery look more normal for the most part. While the one ftm surgery looks...off.

Now I will give you this, it is probably the best phalloplasty I have seen. If metaidioplasty wasn't an option, I would consider it.

That would be the most epiclly amusing and horrible thing to explain to a doctor about an x-ray.

I wouldn't do it. I like my fingers, I kinda use them a lot.

I wouldn't be able to not make fun of myself. I mean things would just be a giant joke... Peeing out my middle finger! I'm so not mature lol

Yeah yeah. Creepy.

I'll take my chances with time and advancements.

I wouldn't give up a finger for even fully functioning Normal male bits... #1 - Those parts are normally covered most of the time, so I don't have to look at them. However, my hands are not covered, and even if they were I'd still be able to tell a finger is missing. The hand looks disgusting, and you can't hide it. #2 - I like the function of my fingers, a penis functions for Sex, and peeing. My fingers function for many more things, like typing for example! And I can use my packer and STP and there are many sex toys out there to make up for the lacking of a penis, while my finger can't be replaced that easy. #3 - That looks downright painful. #4 - If you're talking about this surgery - I generally think Phalloplasty looks awful, I would not want to have that. I'd rather not have bottom surgery at all, than end up with that. Much less mess up another part of my body for it.

Oh my goodness...thats a terrible surgery in my opinion. The result is good in terms of a "boner" but the outcome of what it looks like is terrible. I rather keep my finger. If the result was more realistic and better looking, maybe I'd consider it, but probably not considering I like my fingers. Dr. Meltzer does WAY better phalloplastys that look more realistic then anything I've ever seen and his work on glans is amazing. Plus...theres no risk of me losing a finger.

Very interesting, I never tought they could think of somethig like that...It's true looks great, better than I've seen before but, IDK what to say it' just not worthed...it's freacky to miss a finger, it's very noticeble. While I was looking at the post op pics it just poped into my head a scene from Scary Movie 1, with that guy who had that grose hand with only 4 fingers :& and he tried to serve some food to the others in the house...everybody was on the verge to throw up. So go figure, you're in the restaurant with some great girl on a first date, what will you do you'll keep your hand under the table the whole time or in the poket, unless you want to scare her shoes off with ur deformed hand  Seriosly I won't sacrifce something so usefull as a finger, there's a reason why we have 5

The neat part about being a guy is you get to make up a story about the missing digit to explain it away in a manner which makes you look more macho. Such as, "Lost it in a fireworks accident when I was young", or "Had it blown off in the war", or "lost it at my last job, wrangling alligators". Or something like that. I have a scar that I call a "duelling scar", even though it's really not.

Wow, i think it's kinda disturbing. Actually, scratch that, VERY disturbing.

MAYBE, i might consider it, or take it more seriously if the results were better. Although, i doubt i'd be willing to sacrifice a finger even if they were able to construct a penis that's the equivalent to a bio guy.

The hands looked freaky. They reminded me of cartoon hands. Like the Simpsons.

I really couldn't do this. I actually favor my fingers.... I'm suprised how normal it does look though after being taken off completely. Almost unrecognizable. But still.

Thats what ticks me off about transitioning, no good penis surgeries. I'm fine using fake penises. for now.

Yeah.. "for now" being the key words. I don't think I'll ever feel fully complete til i can have the whole package. I really hope that while I'm still in my prime (I'm 20) the technology will make this possible. Don't wanna feel as though I'm waiting around for something for so long, you know?

this could sound reallllllly bad and probably stupid, but would it be illegal or not allowed to use someones finger that allows organ donors or something?

wouldn't that work?

As awesome as that would be....I play woodwind instruments, piano, and bass guitar. I need all my fingers and they're fleshy textures.

I hope our members from the Mid-South are doing OK today.  A lot of places had a real disaster overnight.  Tornadoes dropped all over, through Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, and Tennessee.  Lots of damage, and many people missing.  Pray for those involved, and that there won't be another wave of it tonight.   My county was spared almost all of it, but a neighboring county was hit hard.  Our Defense personnel were mobilized this morning to assist with access control, because all their local LEOs are needed for search and rescue.  No idea of how many are injured and missing, but there have been several deaths.  We may not know for weeks.  Rural areas here have a lot of shacks and trailer houses, and most people were asleep because it hit at the worst time - early morning on a Sunday during a holiday weekend.  Tornado hit a retirement home, and lots of elderly folks were hurt bad.  There was no forecast for this, and little if any warning.      Electrical outage is widespread, and it has been followed by a really hot, humid day.  Heat index is around 115 - it's killer heat.  I went out with my husband this morning, since everybody with a CDL was needed for a convoy.  I'm back home now, since I only got a couple of hours of sleep last night.  He'll probably be there overnight, and GF is there also helping with mechanical issues.  They've converted a big Baptist church into a community shelter for people who have lost their homes, and set up a generator and AC.  I'll probably go back tomorrow to help some more, as they're working on setting up a kitchen...nobody wants to eat MRE's forever.    They're getting no help from the state at all yet.  Governor didn't bother to declare an emergency until this afternoon!   The National Guard hasn't been activated either.  If it wasn't for Defense personnel, there'd be gawkers and looters. Its ridiculous, like only the cities matter.  Two rural towns literally no longer exist - its like a bulldozer a half-mile wide went through.  I've seen tornado damage before, but this is the worst.  Its just heartbreaking to look at it.

You are absolutely experiencing the same thing many, if not most, of us have faced...and still face.    The best thing I did was to find a therapist skilled in gender issues. She's been a life saver (and we work entirely on-line). And, for me, it also has made sense to move ahead slowly and in synch with my wife.    Just know that you have people here willing to listen and help, as you need it.

A decided exception to the concept of Free Speech, this one shows the consequences of taking the concept off the rails.

Idaho drag performer awarded $1.1m in defamation case against far-right blogger. A blogger, Summer Bushnell, falsely claimed Eric Posey exposed himself to a crowd, including children. The Kootenai county district court jury unanimously found that Summer Bushnell defamed Eric Posey, a resident of Post Falls, Idaho, when she posted a doctored video of his performance that included a blurred spot that she claimed covered his “fully exposed genitals”, the Coeur D’Alene Press reported. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/may/26/idaho-drag-performer-defamation-case-far-right-blogger

I met them on the street one day when they lived in my city. Said hi. They seemed nice. P.S. I think Fin's pronoun is "they."

April, Thank you for the shout out. It is difficult. Sometimes I wish I was just like everyone else (whatever that is). I haven't figured out how to present it to the kids (not sure I'm ready, or want to). I'd imagine  everyone on this forum has felt this at one time or another.

Thanks, I may start a separate thread for the hobbies etc.  My wife and I have also been creating a recipe book we are both quite proud of.

Thank You, I tried to balance the rooms decor with equal feminine, artsy, and a bit of 90's grunge/alternative influence.  Unfortunately, the camera I used didn't show the drawings well. I may decide to make a separate thread for the drawings/arts/crafts.   Hugs

@Amy Powell your aesthetic reminds me of Anna Sui. Kinda art deco meets romantic meets Bohemian meets rock n roll.   Fashion images: https://www.google.com/search?q=anna+sui+fashion&client=ms-android-google&sca_esv=87940c84487c33f0&sca_upv=1&udm=2&biw=412&bih=790&sxsrf=ADLYWIIV5j67lhM8fvT9dj5QsjqC4t8JAw%3A1716744540336&ei=XHFTZs-SFKiQwbkPyvS6kAQ&oq=anna+sui+fash&gs_lp=EhNtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1zZXJwIg1hbm5hIHN1aSBmYXNoKgIIADIFEAAYgAQyBRAAGIAEMgUQABiABDIHEAAYgAQYGDIHEAAYgAQYGEjWKlDuCliMJHACeACQAQGYAaUBoAHhD6oBBDEyLje4AQHIAQD4AQGYAgigAqkGwgIEECMYJ5gDAIgGAZIHAzQuNKAHsVA&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-serp
