I know it is alittle early to ask about hormones, as I'm no where near getting them right now, but I am very curious and want to learn everything I can.

My primary question is, how does your starting point (in terms of masculine features/characteristics) affect your overall outcome when you've been on T for several years?

Does it merely cause you to reach the end point faster and stop? Or does it mean you'll definitely be more masculine due to starting out more that way? And how much do genetics affect your outcome?

For example, if I've already got a lot of body hair (for a female body) does that mean I'll be EXTREMELY  hairy on T? Or does that just mean I'll likely reach maturity faster? And what about adam's apple (which I've already got a bit) and deeper voice (which is somewhat low for a female)?

How much does my body hair indicate my genetic disposition? Is it more of a hormonal thing or do you think I've got some sort of 'hairy gene' already? Is there any indication of how thick my facial hair would grow?

Also, how disposed am I, in theory, to genetic male pattern baldness? My mother's father had it, but I'm not certain about my father's father. My biological father had thick hair at about 40 and my brother has thick hair (of course he's only a teen). Sadly, my hair seems to be of a thinner texture; it's lighter in colour and more fine... does it seem like I might not have inherited my father and brother's fortune?

Well, I apologise if any of these questions have already been answered or are stupid, but I couldn't find them...

It's just I'd really like to know these sorts of things. I have to admit I'm probably a bit odd... I want to be male, but not an overly masculine one. Yes, I definitely want the body and the voice, but I am not too keen on heavy extreme amounts of hair. (or head hair loss...) I know you can't pick and choose; (and if given the choice between over masculinisation and none, I'd still take T in a heartbeat) I'd just like to be aware of the prospects ahead of time.

Thanks. :)

Actually, the reason you couldn't find text to tell you those things is there isn't any :) Its one of the great tests of the decision to start hrt set before trans men. You get no guarantees or guidelines that could give you a hint as to what you'll turn out like. Maybe you'll be hairy because you "were for a girl" and folks in your family have a lot of hair, maybe you won't. Maybe your voice will turn out like Barry White because its already kinda deep, maybe it won't. Maybe your facial features will change in such a way that even a close relative would not be able to recognize you if they hadn't seen you lately. Maybe it won't. Some folks have "intense" changes at the beginning but then they slow down. Others are saddened at little change and resign themselves to "well, I guess thats the way it is" only to have the most dramatic changes happen 3 years in. Some folks have tried to speculate on hair loss based on dad. Others said no, because you're trans its your mothers side you need to investigate. NEITHER is actually a clue giver for a trans guy. ALL that can be said about it is you get what you get and have to be able to take it.

Yeah, that makes sense. :P

Thanks! :) Guess if I get to that point someday, I'll find out.
