Advice Needed From Any Successful Long-time Epilators!

Hi Girls,

I'm hoping some of you Successful long-time epilators (1 year plus) can give me some tips. I am about 3 weeks in and I'm not having very good results. First I'll list my technique and then a few questions. I'm not having issues with the pain at all. Please refrain from commenting if you don't like epilators.

- my practice -

1. Hot shower & exfoliation with St. Ives cream. Drying legs completely.

2. Epilate in the direction of hair growth (down legs, arms etc) Holding steady and going slow. Pulling skin taught. High Speed setting. Medium pressure against the skin.

3. Seeing most hairs with roots on the floor and seeing little white flakes of skinon my leg. (where the hair is pulled out)

4. 8 hours later using witch hazel & rubbing alcohol on the epilated areas.

- Questions -

1. Can I go in the opposite direction of the hair growth? I feel more pulling but I tried this 2 weeks ago and got a lot of razor bumps and in-growns.

2. Can I sideways? In a circular motion?

3. Is it safe to go over and over one area? Or should I just come back to it a few days later? My hair grows in very flat and often misses the epilator.

4. The Emjoi manual says to sort of brush/lift it down your leg rather than slow and steady. What do you do?

5. Is there a way to minimize breakage? A slower speed? How slow/fast do you go?

- Any tips or techniques would be appreciated. I have medium coarse blond hair and toned legs (I walk a lot).

Thank you in advance,

Anna
