The NSW government in Australia has issued what is believed to be the world's first 'Sex Not Specified' Recognised Details Certificate in place of a birth certificate.

Couple things this should teach the transgendered community (the first of which will not be popular but "oh well") a) it is NOT necessary to broadcast every freaking inroad you have as soon as you have it. Its true of globally affecting ones like this and personal ones sometimes. Its too easy to "recant" on a thing when the ink is wet. Better to wait for solidity that comes with the aging of a thing AND the addition of others. b ) even when the document granted "not specified", it was granted not to create a third sex (which I am POSITIVE is why they invalidated the document) but because sex (not gender)- the physical definition- is currently deduced in terms of "either or". A "default" system. If you are not a you are b. Had the document simply reinforced that binary (as it was likely intended to do by the original issuers and I say that actually because of what it contained ; a statement that upheld comparing two data sets) there may not have been a "problem" from the opponents. Its at the point were it can be interpreted as being an acknowledgement to "a third thing" that it becomes a "no no". And that point occured when it hit the press and peeps started saying stuff like "this could validate neutrois". And no body told me that, I'm just betting it. But again, too much yip yap way too soon. It is just a truth that anytime you are trying to get ahead at something where many are against you some discretion is in order. Much like the Chaz Bono thing. I think the best thing he did at this point is refuse to divulge what exactly was in his paperwork and what he did with regard to bottom surgery. If what's in your pants "is no one's business" keep it not their business.
