Earring Question

So I plan on getting my ears pierced soon. My only worry is the earrings used to pierced my ear falling out (Especially during work). Are there types of earrings that are super secure and have little chance of falling out from a lot of sudden movement?

Ohh Yea honey

Those earings that they use have like a locking back to them, you won't have any troubles with losing them.

The only problem you may have is getting them out when your ear is all healed up.

Just kidding, their tough but not that tough. ;)

Oasis,

If you go to a professional piercer, please ask for CBRs. They are rings that will not come out.

Have fun!

I think most piercing earrings come with a locking back. The only problem would be if the piercer closes the backing too much, but you can always grit your teeth and push back the locking back part a notch or two. (I think they have 3 settings) They're locking back pieces so babies can't pull them off (from what I hear). Don't worry, doll, they'll stay in.

All of my earrings that came with the piercing have had locking backs.

It's not an issue. And even ones that don't just "fall out" like that.

Thanks for the info. I work in a kitchen but I want to get them pierced soon so I can get away with it in college (By then it would heal so I'd be able to take them out for my kitchen classes).

If you get them done with gun (usually only in shops like Claire's Accessories) it'll be a stud with locking butterfly clips. They're usually fine if you don't fiddle with them, the only time I've had one fall out is when combing my hair; and tbh I think it was loose anyway since I'd been wearing it on and off for a while. I once had to have an x-ray after having my ear pierced and when I couldn't get it out myself, and neither could the radiologist, they called a nurse with some pliers. They can also be tightened, if you remove the clip and squeeze it, either by hand or with pliers. I wouldn't have any concerns about losing them.

If you get it done professionally with a needle then you can probably get whatever you want in. If you like studs you could get something with a screw back, these won't fall out just by pulling like a butterfly clip (potentially) can, but you should take care to tighten them daily if possible. Some piercers don't seem to like putting in curved piercings to start with; but if you can BCRs are usually very comfortable; personally I don't like them as over the years I've had them drop out whilst sleeping and usually I don't find them again. I've come to love "smooth segment rings"; same concept as a BCR but instead of a ball they use a rounded piece, so you get a perfect circle. Only problem is they're really tight; I've not had mine fall out in over a year.

I'd like to suggest you take the time finding some nice jewellery; I chose the cheapest without thinking at the time but eight weeks is a long time to be stuck with something you don't really care for!
