I was watching the Tyra Banks show today and it was about sugar babies, men, and women. This made me think, would any of you take on a sugar daddy to help you hormones or surgery?

Just a little, I think. Altruism is a lovely thing, but not, sadly, for everybody.

We have a Tgirl at the GLBT that did that! He ended up cheating on her - and she was on the streets. But she got her surgery! The only problem, she also became addicted to heroin because of him!

When I was 17 (a LONG time ago) and living en femme a guy I went out with fell in love with me and eventually wanted to marry me. When I told him why I couldn't, he offered to send me to Europe for surgery The cost in those days was astronomical and SRS wasn't being done anywhere else. I could never have afforded that surgery and there was no hope for the future to be any different but I just couldn't "sell myself" for surgery. If that had happened a couple of years later, I would have.

My first boyfriend was kind of like a sugar daddy (even though he was only 15 and I was 14), except we were in a relationship. We dated for about 6 weeks, and every day during that time he bought me lunch, took me to go get a soda at the HEB (a grocery store in Texas, for those of you who don't know) whenever I wanted one, the CD of any song I heard on the radio and liked, and he even bought me really nice promise bracelet saying that he was mine and I was his forever. Onto the relationship part, he was my first kiss, always called me his princess (because I preferred it over prince, even before I was sure I was trans, I knew that I was the girl in my relationships), and was the sweetest guy you could dream of. Plus he was a CUTIE ;) !

Anyway, being a teenager in love, head over heels for this guy, I never once questioned how he was able to afford everything he bought me. I'm pretty sure he racked up close to $1000 on me (some of those luches were nice). Soooo, here's the story changer: one day I found out where he was getting his money from. -- A bit of background info first so this can make some more sense: every summer for 3 years (the one I'm talking about was the 3rd) I would spend 2 months at my grandparents' house in Austin, Texas and my ex-boyfriend happened to have a summer home there, and that's how we met. -- Anyhoo, back to the story. I had a friend who lived down the street from my grandparents' house, and every day before he took me to lunch we'd go over there so I could talk with this kid. Well, one day I go to find my boyfriend, who wasn't with the two of us. He never was. Ever. I go into my friend's room and find my boyfriend stealing his money. The relationship with what I thought was the PERFECT boyfriend ended right there. I gave him the bracelet back, told him we were through and never talked to him again. It took me a long time to get over it.

All I'm saying is that if you want a sugar daddy, don't expect the fairy tale ending.

No it isn't! In my mind when I hear sugar daddy I think pimp. I don't want a pimp.

A man or woman, usually older, who gives you gifts, money or both.

Oh Okay. I didn't know that (obviously). How do they work?

a sugar daddy or mamma is nothing like a pimp , pimps only take and are out from them selves. it is kinda a form of prostitution though, your being compensated for spending time with some one be it sexual or just the comapany of the person

a few of the guys i have dated were....... very well off my bills paid bought fancy things one guy i was dating let me barrow his lamborghini testarosa ( he was less than pleased when i bottomed it out on the rail road tracks ) but in the end you do start feeling like a hooker but as i said in my previouse post i wasnt in it for the money these guys were semi seriouse relationships

at the time i was 21 with guys that obviously had money and old enough to be my father. people look at you and you know what thier thinking (shes only with him cause hes got money ) draws more looks than being trans

there is nothing illegal about it i guess its what your comfy with

It sounds kind of interesting. Not that I like the idea of using people for their money (NOT saying that's what other people or you do/did, just saying for me). It sounds different. :)

It seems like both sides are using each other, one for companionship and the other for money.Idk if I would actually do it but it sounds tempting.

Guest chngnwnd

It is very tempting - I tend to attract mainly well-to-do professional men. They fawn over me and give me small gifts - but I tend to be a little hard to get and as awkward as the small gifts feel sometimes - I can see how taking big things could make you feel a little like a hooker. My ex already regularly calls me a sleeper...

The attention is really nice though....

Link to comment

I would never want a Sugar Daddy because that title is not used for wealthy men that you actually love.

It is for men that are buying your attention - forget feeling like a prostitute and think for a moment about his feelings when he does realize that there is no real emotion involved, well not love just avarice.

I have always been as poor as a church mouse (why they are considered to be poorer than any other mouse I am not sure) and yet I have unknowingly held the position of Sugar Daddy more than once and sadly I believe in my marriage as well - upon the discovery the feeling is both a little angry about being used like that and totally empty making you question if love even exists.

NO, I will have my surgery or not depending on how well I learn to manage money.

At least Lizzy can help me try to stick to a budget.

Love ya,

Sally

Yup! I love the attention, too....

But for me, gifts for love?

Nope....

Hmmm!! Sugar Daddies??? Well I have to admit i've fantasized about being a woman with a sugar daddy. And in fact I've dated several, but things never went beyond a first date for me. They called and emailed me and I never answered. In fantasy I thought about what it would be like to have nothing more to do than look glamorous, to travel, to shop with an unlimited budget, to learn how to mix drinks and on occasion to consent to sexual relations but to be honest on the first date I was always totally turned off and could hardly bring myself to be friendly and polite. The men who attract me are hard-working, blue-collar types. I only recently ended a budding relationship with a gentleman who had just retired to his summer home near where I live and wanted a female companion to lavish his assets on. He'd go on and on about how I turned him on and that I was the woman of his dreams, but I could hardly be civil with him. So I just told him flat out I was not the woman he was looking for. Maybe it's the hard-working struggling men who bring out the motherly feelings in me but they are the men I prefer.

Hugs, Ricka

In a heart beat, but then again, if I were not married, I'd be doing porn or prostitution or whatever it took t get the surgeries I want. I have no morals I guess. Always said I was a bad person.

I read a story about a MtF who posted her story online and requested donations for her surgery. A kind gentleman sent her the money for her surgery. Later she had a medical problem and her benefactor paid several more thousand dollars for her treatment. He never asked for anything from her, but a letter every once in a while telling him how she is doing. It is really inspiring to know there are people who care and care about us and our happiness.

Huggs,

I can relate to looking in the mirror at a young age in life, whenever I explained to my parents, it resulted in a car ride to the hospital emergency room.

Hi all, a bit more about the story - I just realised the first message didn't tell you much! It's called 'Going Out', set in the UK, and it's by me, Nicola Atherton, if you search Amazon. Have a little read of the first two chapters which are there for free in the 'Look Inside' bit. It's a lovely long read, a gradual, detailed, emotional story which I’m sure some will find at times painfully raw, while at other times unbearably exciting. I wrote it for us lot :) It starts off as a gradual, realistic intro into Amy’s solitary world, before she accepts what she’s always known to be true. She makes friends with girls and meets men, and her story plays out in a way that others have said they enjoyed very much. I think you'll all love it :) PAPERACK copy.pdf

Wow! Hopefully that encounter is amicable! I can only imagine what might be going through your mind right now!   I was a bit of a prude, I don't even need a whole hand of fingers to count my sexual partners on. Good old fear-based Catholic "sex ed" did its number on me.   I get nervous walking into men's rooms. I don't look the part for the either restroom these days, I guess. I did use the women's at the convention I volunteered at (the restrooms were temporarily made gender free though), it was nice having a stall to use without waiting.   The whole bathroom debate is so stupid. Genital-based restroom assignments aren't going to stop people intending abuse and there are laws for handling them already. It's the fear the laws strike and the conditions they creates is the problem, fomenting distrust and hate. Who cares who is in the stall next to you? Let them pee in peace!

Good morning! Just finishing my delayed coffee after fasting for routine bloodwork.   Just had my annual physical and I came out to my Dr. He was so kind and said if/when I want to start HRT they have a couple endocrinologists who specialize in transition and he could give me a referral. So nice! Not quite ready to jump into that yet, but he was so understanding. Another small step in my social transition. I feel so happy! 😊

I am ambidextrous. I learned to write righty in school so I usually write with my right hand but my handwriting is better if I use my left hand. I use a lefty mouse. I am physically stronger in my left side.

Easy, I have felt the same way, not quite to the point of wanting to quit but sitting there one dosing morning and thinking "what am I doing?". I am in a crazy place right now; family is moving across the country, I am being laid off for the first time in my career and have to find a new job, and I'm in the middle of this gender journey that seems like it makes everything harder than it could be. I'd always been a "man with boobs", even when I was in my 20s and really skinny I had breast tissue, and now I'm accepting of that and want more but in a different way--I don't want to be a man with boobs, I want something different. I am something different, but it's hard because of nearly a half-century of social programing. So I empathize with your struggle, very directly.   I haven't dressed "male" for nearly six months and I just volunteered at a conference with my femme nickname and she/her pronouns on my name lanyard. The whole experience was great, I didn't feel a minute of anxiety or worry. That stuff comes at home, when left to my thoughts. Which is more telling? The comfort being Mae in public or the doubts and worry in private?   When I look in the mirror and see this more feminine me, it calms down the doubts and worry, so I'm starting to allow myself to trust in the former.
