The Shoe Dream

I had this weird dream last night about shoes

first I was sitting in a the back of a room with a row of women to my right and a tall woman on my left that talked like Marge Simpson

the room was full of empty chairs except for the middle of the room there were four people

two guys and a mother and daughter

the mother and daughter got up and sat next to the Marge Simpson sounding woman

so the back row was filled

the Marge Simson sounding woman was utterly fascinated with the mother and daughter's shoes

the mother (on the end) had odd sneakers on that had treads on top and on bottom

the Marge woman then took the daughter's shoe off and examined it from various angles

the mother and daughter just smiled and indulged her like this sort of thing happened all the time

she examined the shoe for a really long time

she even sniffed it and said "ewe thats not pleasant, but these really are amazing shoes"

eventually she gave the shoe back to the daughter

it was just a plain looking brown sneaker to me

then I was at a garage sale

and saw these almost knee high heels

I thought they were vinal

but they were a translucent burgandy

and were made with a bunch of intracite interlacing strips that left parts of the ankle and feet exposed

the heels were only about two inches

but they fit perfectly

they looked like something the villin in an 1980's B scifi movie would wear

I thought I should get them or not, get them or not

finally I decided to splurge and got them

after all they fit perfectly

then I woke up

has anyone else had weird shoe dreams before???

No Naomi,

I only wish I had dreams about shoes.

Mine are dreams that only an accountant would love. Or perhaps would even drive an accountant buggy!

So, everyone with WIERD dreams please share - perhaps my slumbering subconscious will get the idea eventually.

Love, Kat

I have a recurring dream, it has a little monkey dressed in a hat and vest (like a hurdy gurdy monkey) and it's chasing me through a city. Finally i get around a corner and think i've lost him! but alas! he peeks around the corner and says "white wine" and then I scream and wake up.

O.o

I don't get it either....

I have very mundane dreams about life. The weird thing is, sometimes, perhaps years later, I realize I have dreamed a moment I am living through. I wish I could dream the numbers and date of a powerball drawing. Instead, I get a dream about kicking students out of my classroom. Like I need to know that's going to happen in the future.

Shoe dreams? I wish. I would probably dream about shoes I couldn't wear.

luv

hmm! I was about to start a topic on dreams, so thanks Naomi, and Kat for encouraging sharing.

I had the weirdest dream the other night, so totally different than anything I can ever remember. And it was so vivid, and so tg oriented, it was scary a little.

I do remember I had other dreams just preceding it and I think they were pretty much run of the mill. I had gotten to bed about midnight and I usually sleep until 7 or 8 and usually don't remember anything. But my spouse got up at about 2:30 and I woke up so I had not slept that long.

Anyway, the scene is some mountainous or hilly or rocky terrain. There's a man in a clearing, very much in command of the situation, somewhere a cross between a wizard and a warlord. I'm thinking (now and even in it) this is some medieval or fantasy type setting - but at the same time, for me it was very real. All of sudden the man (who may be armored, or elaborately dressed) does something and there's a flash and maybe an explosive sound like thunder, and then all of a sudden, 12 Chinese princesses (!) are filing into the clearing, in a row, and I'm one of them, and the man is obviously Chinese. I'm sort of in a state between knowing I'm me, yet knowing I'm also this young woman. I'm neither first nor last, just a part of the group.

We stop and the man summons an elderly woman who appears and she begins something like physically examining us in a medical sort of way. We are dressed in robes (we're not Geisha's or in bright Japanese print clothes, but Chinese attire, silk, flowing, think Mulan or Kim Cattrall in Big Trouble in Little China). It's like the old woman is our caretaker or nanny or nurse. Anyway, I am next aware that she is examining the young woman next to me and I am next, and I'm nervous, partly because a part of this person is me - a male. But I am quiet and know that it will happen and there is nothing I can do.

She comes to me and while my robes are still on, she doesn't undress me or anything, just puts her hands under the robes and feels my body, like trying to determine if there any physical ailments. And she examines my breasts (like a doctor would), which the part of me that is me, is a little surprised that I have them and the feeling I am getting from her touches are so realistic, that while the part of me that is me, gets an inkling that this has to be a dream, at the same time is astounded at how real everything feels.

And I start awake, with my breathing a little labored and my body maybe a little tense (I don't like being awakened all at once!) I cannot ever remember dreams where I was in such an exotic, foreign setting, well, maybe one other time. I'm always either me, or at the very least in a very Americanized setting, and almost never in another 'era', like this.

Now, that's a vivid and strange dream, but even while I was anxious for a moment, the way it turned out, I was who I was dreaming about - a female. I wish it could have lasted just a little longer to see where the story was going.

I attended my first public event with crowds. I was nervous! It was the Pride Month event down here. It’s finally official I’m a volunteer.

@LittleSam I dress pretty stereotypically masculine too, it's comfy! But sometimes I feel like being fancy and bright like a peacock so I do that. Being a peacock is fun :D  Plus I always think it's so weird that people believe certain genders can't do certain things, because why does it matter so long as no one is being hurt and the person doing the activity is happy? Basically, I think worrying about that stuff just causes a lot of unnecessary stress.  I don't really see myself as genderfluid mostly because my gender is pretty static, or I'm always masculine and not at the same time all the time. With that being said I can absolutely see how it relates! Especially since I think it makes perfect sense to go between feeling gendered or genderless, to put it broadly.  Overall, labels are our best attempts at describing hard to explain concepts like gender and sexuality, which are both really fluid and vary a lot from person to person. I went from trans man, to trans masculine, to agender, and back to trans man, so I essentially just went in a circle, but I learned a lot along to way.

I personally don't understand how wearing panties is comfortable for much of anybody.  I'm AFAB, but there's just too much naturally, um...down there....for panties to be comfortable.  Consequences of being intersex, I guess.  I'd suggests some slightly-looser shorts instead.  There are some that are marketed to women, but have a kind of androgynous look to them.  Wish I knew a brand name, but I could ask my friends.  Both of my trans friends are non-op, so they have no doubt experienced how you're feeling.   Ugh... I get really irritable when GF keeps trying to put me back in female underwear because she says I "look pretty" that way.  I never thought I looked pretty that way or any other way, and the pinching/pulling/chafing combined with the overly-noticeable outlines of....stuff.... just makes it no-go for me.  Last time she approached me with an underwear item, I warned her she was going to get bit.

I don't think so.  People may disagree with me, but I don't believe there's such a thing as "gay culture," "trans culture," "White culture," "Hispanic culture," or similar terms because those are really big umbrellas.    My background is Greek, and I live in the Mid-South part of the USA.  I share some of my trans-ness with my trans friends, and some aspects of our backgrounds and beliefs are similar.  But honestly, its impossible for me and the average trans person from California to agree on much of anything past the color of an orange and the fact that we don't quite fit in our bodies.

Just heard from surgeon. Surgery successful and she's awake and resting well. Spleen was large about only about 100ml blood loss, probably all from bleeding into the mass & not from any rupturing. Dr didn't see anything else worrying except a liver nodule which she biopsied although she suspects the nodule is just age-related. She's anemic but they're holding off on blood transfusion for now bc they believe she'll recover naturally. About a week to get biopsy report. And Dr said if she continues to do as well as she has so far, she may be able to come home tomorrow. So best news possible so far. ❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️
