I joined about 18 months ago and have traveled this road I am on with many of you. Some have left and some are new - but some have been with me the entire journey, even when I constantly tried to leave, but couldn't.

This place is amazing - and I am doing one of those infrequent TOPICs you see now and then from we members who are just awestruck at what goes on here.

Today - one member in particular absolutely knocked me out twice! You know whom I speak - an SO of the rarest type - not only understanding of her partner but also of us. Her writing is insightful, her topics are right on, and her love is ... is... how can you describe it? All I know is it is infectuous! It makes me feel reaffirmed, a significant human being, a person of value. Thank you Chelsey...

There are others! Dee Jay, Sally and I discussed the folly of naming names and instances as we can leave someone out. So here is an edited thing I wrote:

...........

One person here - THANK YOU for your unconditional love. I am so lost in you - I love you unconditionally back, and may I never disappoint you.

Another person here - THANK YOU for pulling me up - I try to do the same with you when I see you are down - that has made us love each other

Another - THANK YOU for letting me see you and you family - and your true-self - that loving heart

Another - THANK YOU for caring so much about us - those that moderate with you

Another - THANK YOU for giving me many many chances to get my moderating ways right, my excesses under control, my love for all expressed

Another - several actually - THANK YOU for showing me you are a woman and live life as a woman, in success - the FTMs likewise but reverse, but these T-girls are me in the future.

Another - THANK YOU for showing me that living alone is not only doable, but can be a preferred way of life

Another - THANK YOU for showing me being older can still be the time to transition

Another - THANK YOU for being FTM and accepting me as your own - your humor and wisdom astound me!

Another - several in fact - THANK YOU for being young and excited and transitioning against the most incredible odds

Another - again several - THANK YOU for showing me your art, your poetry, your writings - all your hopes and aspirations!

Again several - being the SO or parent is terribly hard. IMPOSSIBLE - but you do it - you stay with us.

Others - you make me cry - you make me laugh - you are never DULL IN YOUR POSTINGS! GOD HELP US ALL!

And finally - ALL - brave as you are - terrified as you get - your true need to be yourself? An inspiration! The path is not easy - but we traverse it. We have to because we have no other choice except to be what we are - BUT - you have shown me, I am NEVER alone.

One of those days - I get sometimes muse on what is... and cry just a little...

Yes we did, Lizzy.....

And we try not to exclude anyone in our lists....

This one of yours is perfect, though....

It's wonderful, that I (having been here before you or Sally) can pick out each and every one of the folks mentioned in your post ..and without fear of leaving anyone out.

Because each line includes many people....everyone should be able to pick themselves out in one or more lines...

Well done, Lizzy.....

You have a heart of gold....

I'm so happy that you are still here, Honey, although you tried to squirm away a few times...we had you in our grip...hugged tightly...

With all my love....

Donna Jean

A very nice topic and I know who so many of those unnamed members are for me.

A lot of them are the same but some are different as we each tend to talk with the people who are on when we are.

I have so many now as my time frame has shifted from late night to evening and early morning.

Some very close to me have left and some have come back, others have remained steadfast and unwavering in their love and friendship.

Whenever I am having a truly terrible day, I come here to find those who lift me up.

This place and all of you have saved my faith, my hope, my sanity and my life and for this you ask nothing in return - that is the most amazing part in this world to actually receive something of great value - love and understanding just for saying hello.

This is the first day of month number 21 for me on Laura's, I can not begin to tell you when the hot cocoa tradition began because Donna Jean told me that she couldn't remember who started it, we added the cookies a little later and then the pizza for the FTMs.

All of these little things added up make this site a home not just a place on the Internet.

I thank you all for letting me stay here and making me feel so much at home.

Love ya,

Sally

First of all, it's not easy to render me speechless. TRUST ME. lol. you just did tho. wow.

I came to Lauras not very long ago because I felt alone. The wife of an incredible man with a unique dillema that he was lost in. I wanted to help him but didn't know how. We were being rejected and treated like dirt from family members and I lost my faith. It was hard and I started searching for something. ANYTHING. I didn't expect to find anything like Lauras though. Not only has Lauras helped us make better, healthier decisions in his transition but it has helped both of us in our outlook of everything.

Lauras is addicting. Learning about these funny caring, WITTY people. Hearing about their lives and stories and joys and problems. I love finding out what happens next and I've gotten in trouble a couple times because I had to go check just one more time before bed lol. I see Nick in everyone here. His funny side, his intelligence, his thoughfulness. I don't know when I made that correlation but that was when I knew I wouldn't leave Lauras.

It started as a way for us to get help but Lauras has lit a fire under my butt to continue fighting for OUR rights and to help where I can. I didn't know you thought that way but you seriously just made my beautiful sunny seattle day brighter. Thank you soooo much.

Someday, wouldn't it be nice to all meet...... wow. Thats an interesting thought.

LOVE,

I want to say that even though I don't know the members that well yet, they have been there to comfort me when I've been feeling down. And there are times I've been able to help others even though I wish I could do more.

I've come to really love the members here, even though many times I can't find the right words to express how I feel. And as Dee Jay once said this is exactly the place I belong. And I now truly believe it. I feel honored to call this place home and to be a part of such a wonderful family.

Love Susan

WOW...

Such words..... wors that can only be spoken from the heart and when meant so sencerely from such a special place....

Mnay people search their whole lives trying to find love and peole who care about them. They wander alone and some die alone. For so long that looked like each of our destiny's with the hands we have all been delt.

But no more.

Laura's is a magically place where we will never be alone and everyone will always be loved and cared for!

And the thing that makes Laura's so special and priceless for lack of words, are the poeple who make it home to the rest of us.

Lizzy, I told you to put down the tissues and now you got me picking my own up!

"It must be raindops,".....

For everyone here who's ever offered a piece of advice. their own experiences and insight, and showed someone else that there is someone going through exactly the same thing as them..... you wonderful people are not like family.

You ARE family!

Thank you everybody, and thank you Lizzy! <3

I would like to introduce myself. I am gender fluid, which make it difficult to describe myself at any given point in time.  I have many interests: Drawing, Interior Decorating, Floral Arrangements, Seasonal Decorating, Home Improvement & Repair, Fishing, Electronics, Fiber Optics, PC Repair and configuration, Networking, Cooking, Sewing, Soldering, Auto Repair, gaming and Crafting are amongst my most cherished attributes.   I am happily married with 5 kids.  I simply wish to make aquaintences & friends with like minded individuals.  I often cross dress in private.  Because I'm fluid i teeter between masculine & feminine.  This is difficult as only my wife knows and the kids don't.    I am happy to meet you all

Welcome to Transgender Pulse Forums @Madelyn Rain   I'm very late in life and in a slow transition. I'm out to my wife, grown children and my siblings, their support ranges from reluctant to total denial of my existence. Several are totally onboard with my transition. As for my medical and therapeutic care team... I'm out and started my conversation as they have known me from the start. Manly, just starting the transition. As I've proceeded along the transition trail, my mannerisms and speech have taken on a lighter tone. I have not started any real voice feminizing yet.    My recommendation is to just go in honestly and be your comfortable self.   Best wishes,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

It’s a “wedge issue”, used as a way of forcing other things quietly while making a big deal out of something that impassions others. Trans issues “stuck” when the Right threw all sorts of social strategies at the wall, it clicked with the base and now we’re here. Who doesn’t want to “protect the children”, right?   As far as fascism goes, we’re on our way with either party but it’s not a hard guess which party gets us all the way there the fastest. Frankly, I see the Left dogged by politics of conscience. The war in Israel, the status quo of Wall Street, the perpetual increase in the wealth divide, and what little is being done on the environmental front are all indicators of capitalism guiding policy and the voter base of the Left is not impressed.   The Right is dogged by (or been sold into) a persecution complex, religious or otherwise, and it has made them afraid and angry. But! A lot of the issues that cause that fear are very similar, if not the same, on the Left (see wealth divide, see Wall Street, etc.). Weaponized religion is a big difference between the voting blocks and it’s being used to create insidious identity politics. Politics like that are why the party of “freedom” wants to control who people are. Why? Because God said so.    As for the OP, everyone knows the far right agenda isn’t a grass roots cause. It’s not surprising that there is big money and croneyism at work. In fact, I’ll bet the average MAGA voter would cheer it on. Grab ‘em by the pus-pocketbook! They’re the little guys in this and they need those “few” people to do god’s work with their “hard-earned” wealth.

Hiya, I’m about to be going to my appointment to set up hrt. I have spoken with my dr about it briefly in the past, but stopped being part time and went into deep masking essentially… Now that I have decided to actually start transitioning medically I feel pressure to be a certain way which I know I shouldn’t. I searched to see if someone else had asked this question but didn’t see it posted, so sorry if it’s been asked.    Did you dress femme and or use a femme voice for your appointment to discuss starting hrt? I still feel so manly in the way I look, so I just feel so… awkward about it all. Like to mask or not to or idk uggh so unsure how to feel about it as I’m totes not ashamed of who I am but insecure about looking manly. I have a femme “baby face” but am not too tall but broad and more on the muscular side. Not saying these things take away from being a woman, just they are my insecurities.   thank you,   Madelyn Rain

This stuff gets complicated.  Capitalism replaced Feudalism…  You get enclosures, Highland clearances, the communal village culture disrupted.  Was it good?  Or was it bad?  Kinda depends on your point of view.   But I guess this is another topic.
    • Ivy
Seems like it.  But I think a lot of current "conservative" thinking is the idea of going back to earlier social mores and enforcing such. "Conservatives" seem fine with coercing others to conform to their ideals.
    • Ivy
I see the corporations controlling the government, largely through campaign contributions.   As for leftist, almost any cooperation has a socialistic component.  It doesn't need to be controlled by the government.  I see some elements of your own situation as socialist in a sense.  I suspect we have a different understanding of these things. Some people see "anarchism" as simply local control.  Radical left?  IDK.

The truth is that there's no unbiased media. Even if someone tries real hard to show both sides of the issue and remain unbiased in their presentation, their own opinions are bound to influence the piece in some way. That's simply writing, really, but it's a real pain when it comes to news of current events. It seems everyone takes one extreme or the other, and a lot of people don't even seem to be trying to hide their bias in the news nowadays. That's a problem regardless of political party.   Going completely in any one direction is a bad idea, really. The point of a two-party (or more, really) system is that multiple types of people are represented and have someone speaking up in a way they agree with. Both sides have both faults and virtues, and that's why there's both conservatives and liberals, as well as people who might be fluid between the two sides depending on the issue.     Eh, I have to politely disagree. Fascism would also mean a lot of control over things like media, and we have plenty of media outlets who will openly criticize the government based on who's in power. There's also other freedoms in our current system that would go against a Fascist philosophy. Plus, there's plenty of corporations that actively try to avoid government interventions like regulations via methods like labor outsourcing.    Also, kinda unrelated, but I've never gotten the idea of conservative support of anti-trans policy? I mean, that's more government control over healthcare, which seems kinda anti-conservative in philosophy. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong, but to my understanding of conservative philosophy, wouldn't the more truly conservative view be to leave it to offices themselves similar to how you would leave businesses to regulate what and how they provide a good/service?

My husband calls her the "Snow Fox."  Pretty sure penguin is what's for dinner...

And I suppose that NPR and CNN are "fair and balanced...."  I guess its all a matter of perspective, but here we literally listen to NPR as a comedy station.  As in, WHAT PLANET do these folks live on????  So much of what is presented seems totally nuts.    There's no shortage of big money funding the Left.  George Soros, Bill Gates, the Walton family....  If they support the "climate" agenda in any way - leftist.  If they support "gun control" in any way - leftist.  If they support UNESCO, anything else from the UN, electric vehicles, vaccination, funding public universities, etc....  you get the picture.  There's a heck of a lot of leftism going on if you just listen for the buzzwords on radio and tv.  And it seems like a large portion of big corporations are using those words.   What was the original idea of Fascism?  Corporations working hand-in-hand with a government that controls basically everything.  Doesn't seem too different from what is going on today, except that we have two parties involved.

The only reason I tried Tetris, was some of my younger kids had a gameboy I had younger coworkers playing packman when we took breaks at convenience stores.  I never could get into it.  I do remember the old pinball machines in the gas stations though
    • awkward-yet-sweet
Everybody used to live that way, but not everybody is adapted to every climate.  I would be fine living like that, really.  My GF... well she'd be alive but I'm not sure about everybody around her.   If the house isn't super cold, she becomes difficult to deal with.  And the hotter it is outside, the colder she wants it inside.  Even the light bothers her, so she prefers areas without windows.  She'll work outdoors on projects, but when she's done sometimes she's bleeding from the corners of her eyes.  Her normal body temperature is also really cold.  For her, 95.7 to 96.2 is normal, and sometimes in the winter she can be as low as 92 while still appearing normal.  Arctic creature, I guess... Me, I'm fine with lower temperatures as long as I'm active.  But when I sleep, I get cold easily.
