*lights up one of the cigars and tucks the other one in his shirt pocket for laters*

Aaaaw yeah! I'll set the mood for virtual cigars anytime!

Hey. The weekend can start now right? Right?! I'll be hopefully getting out of the apartment for a few hours Saturday night to invade a local gathering of like minded nerds and friends. (Not with the intention of picking a fight, I swear!)

Lesse.. What's going on. I decided to say to hell with decisions and buy both the binder styles I was looking at. (Double-front and chest-only. I'll try the tri-top at some other point.) Seems they'd ship from my own state, so I'm hoping they'll get her next week. I'm looking forward to fighting my way into them on my own. If no one hears from me, that simply means I've gotten myself stuck. XD

Finished reading Becoming a Visible Man by Jamison Green. At some point during the book, its revealed that he's also adopted. (Officially planted in his adoptive home after 5 weeks too!) He doesn't go into that really, but I found it interesting that his parental dynamics upon coming out seem to be rather similar to mine. I had lots of good moments reading that book. It was like an FTM history lesson too, though I'd probably have to read it again for any of the names to really STICK in my memory. But yeah.. Reading this upped my interest in trying to get to Southern Comfort next year. I can drive to Altanta without issue and could probably manage to crash with friends who live in the area. (Can't make it this year. Not enough money! And. I think I might be in Alaska at the time. But yeah, maybe next year. Sounds like a good time.)

Uh. What else. One of my cats is getting fatter. I didn't think this was possible, but there it is. The cat can comfortably whale-out on her back without any issues. Most cats can't do this because their spine tips them one way or another. Hers used to. This cat seriously needs a treadmill.

Been working out a lot more lately. Push ups have been the bane of my armpits. I'm working muscles that have been too long neglected. Its painful, but in a good way. Very satisfying. I've also been using the weights and am considering upping from the 10lb bells to something more challenging. I suppose I could just use the cat.

:lol: you really should have seen our old family cat you know those pet carriers? she filled one and like there was fur sticking out the holes like those fat rabbits at fairs... my lil brother and sister used to feed her 5 times a day plus snacks i thought the cat was gunna explode

O__O *threatens to slide out of his leather chair*

Daaaang. Okay. My cat ain't that bad. If she ever threatens to get that bad, believe you me, I will make a new and terrifying game called "But Hanni the vacuum cleaner just wants to be your friend!!!" just to make her exercise. .. Not that this doesn't happen already, but its usually a side effect of routine cleaning and a dash of I-can't-help-myself as opposed to cleaning being the side effect of enforcing fat cat cardio.

*grins and reseats*

Well, I suppose I should be grateful the cat that can't reach certain areas to clean is also the cat who tolerates a bath. (My other one, ooooh no way am I ever putting him near the tub again. The last time I tried, I swear he threatened to scream his voice box out his face as soon as one toe broke the surface.)

yeah I'd scowl at you cuz I'm jealous but I imagine that smells good. **tries to cyber sniff "sniff-sniff"

There's been plenty of times where I get caught talking about food with people online while having no food in my apartment to satisfy the inevitable occurrence of OH-GOD-FOOD-NOW that follows. Its in these moments where I conjure up images of food scanners (which resemble toaster ovens) and the ability to email food from one person to the next through these food scanners.

If such thing were ever made possible, I would immediately invest every penny into Spam stock. At least in the very beginning, cause you KNOW sending real Spam will be the-thing-to-do for a while. Well. At least for good-humored citizens. Ill-humored citizens might scan and send flaming bags of stuff nobody wants.

The weekend can always start whenever we say it does B)

AJ: You defnately can check in when you need to.

Jamison Greene Topic: I love Jamison Greene. Never got to read Visible Man, thats still something I need to do.

I did get to see him live and in person though at Southern Comfort last year. That was a big deal for me. Southern Comfort itself was AMAAAAZING. I would encourage anyone who can to attend on whatever year they can to do it, just to feel what it feels like to be surrounded with that many trans people and that many trans brothers.

Poker, anyone? Maybe some no-limit Texas Hold 'Em? If this is a man-party, we must play either poker or... lawn darts. Lawn darts are mad dangerous.

Is anyone besides Evan and I old enough to remember lawn darts?

Aw man! My old neighbors had lawn darts. Its all well and good until you start targeting your friends. c_c We didn't have any major injuries though. What got us covered in welts was.... The Hickory Wars.

*feigns a grim, war-worn look on his face and pulls down his hat to shadow his eyes*

The Hickory Wars fell upon the street roughly around 1987 and lasted into 1991. The true end of the war is still a matter of debate and some say the peace is tenuous at best.

Particular times of the year where favored for battle, most often occurring when the fruit of the tree were the most hard and dense. This was quite the prolific hickory tree, you see, that rooted itself in the side yard between these great warring houses of old. It provided much ammunition for both, though the gathering of such munitions was quite risky. Only the bravest (or the most dim) would dare do the collecting for the fighters.

The gatherers, you must realize, where in the direct fire line. These were not like wars before where simple throwing techniques were applied by hand alone. Oh no. These were the days in which father's bought their boys professional grade, hunting sling shots. (Aaaw yeah!) Really, its a wonder no one lost an eye or suffered lasting damage. (Though in the case of one of the younger members of the opposition, this is debatable. She never was quite with it.)

*loses the hat and grins*

Lawn darts were the least of our worries. We had BB rifles that would put Red Rider to bed crying. ;) Honestly! The kids on the street turned out pretty okay regardless! Everyone had a good heart, we just liked to play hard. Though.. hmm.. I guess mentioning all of this kinda puts me out of the running for picking out games around here. *shifty eyes* I promise if we play lawn darts that I won't throw them at anything that moves. (Which means you should all just start running now.)

We could also play Cornhole. And... we could play FLARTS. :D Game the band Hinder made up on the road that I have yet to play lol. It's like darts but you put the dartboard on the ground and throw the dart upwards but aim it for the board (i.e. like a parabola)

How's about hackey sack?

Ermmm, Something about anything termed "cornhole" is not good for me LOL. (Stands on the other side of Stranded- feels sure he likely heard the same reference). Uhhhh, Lawn Darts sound better . I'll go for poker, what the hey, its been a while.

I remember when we learned to play poker as children; lol we went through a lot of pennies in those days.

I had a girl cousin who was card shark . Used to hate to have to play her. Though her pet was spades. Made me a good spades player though.

I'm wearing a white t shirt and jeans.  The t-shirt is softer than a man's and slightly girly.  Feeling kinda pretty.

That's very common in internet forums and it is hard not to take it personally sometimes.   You might post "bump" with a smiley face to bring it to the top of the stack, or you might use the @ feature if there are certain people you would really like to have comment on it, and say something like Dear Abby, I would really like your input on this.  Please take a minute and respond.  Thanks!!!

The same for me... That's exactly were MmIndy came from. I started choosing female skins as soon as they became available in the few games I played.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Something else I noticed @Ladypcnj Since I use the Unread tab, I don't see threads I've read again until someone replies to it, or the author adds something.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Good morning @Ladypcnj   Some posts get lost in the busy times here. It also maters how people navigate the site. Some only look at their notifications, or tap the All Activity tab which shows them thread they've commented on. (how I see it)... I on the other hand use the Unread tag under Activity. I don't think people ignore post as much as they get caught up reading threads they've already been active in.   Best wishes, stay positive, and motivated,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Oh yeah, I forgot,    @awkward-yet-sweetwhen your husband finally breaks down and decides to replace the stoves I agree a single professional stove even out of a defunct restaurant might well be the way to go when cooking for all those kids and adults. Certainly better that the situation you describe.  Or maybe from a used restaurant supply where they have professionally cleaned and refurbished it.

Wow, yesterday was a very active day.     @Birdie I hope they figure out where that’s coming from and get you heeled quickly. That it’s nothing serious.  Maybe going to the day care with a purewick will finally convince them to change their attitude.   @MaeBe  especially if you believe you are about to loose your job anyway, what’s to keep you in Minnesota ?  This could be a wonderful thing for all of you Washington State can be wet but it’s really not as bad as it’s made out to be.  If you are west of the cascades it is relatively mild not like MN in the winter time.  And east of the cascades it’s rather desert like around Yakima.     New car shopping can be fun but it can be very stressful too.  We talked about it over lunch yesterday. Strange thing is she kept coming back to the old Ford.  My response was instead of two car payments there woul only be one although I would expect it to be a little higher, but not nearly what two would add up .  Plus I wouldn’t have to continue working as long with only one as when I get the other things paid off I know we can live without me working.  Unless of course, the congress decides to mess with social security.  Right now I have three vehicles I want to look at two are at one dealer and the third at another.  All three are GMs two are newer with lower mileage but are also lower end on the GM line.  The third which is the one that most interests me is a Cadillac.  Let’s see there is a song from way back about a Cadillac and a Hot Rod Lincoln comes to mind.  Anyway it is an XT-5. I get my room and comfort, she gets her nice appointments and the ford hopefully will hang on as a spare for those occasions when we need a second car for me to go to work and for her to do ??  The downside is it has just under 80,000 miles and is a 2020 so in that regard we are slipping backwards from a 2022 with 25000  but going from a sub-compact to a mid-size.  The other two are a compact and a Midsize but neither would provide the expected comfort and features of the Cadillac.  The biggest of which are the pedals that would adjust and the seat adjustments. (My wife is 4’ 10” and I am 5’8” since my spine has shrunk.  The Caddy also has the lane safety as well as front and rear collision warning.  The mileage will go down and the engine requires higher octane gas but that won’t be too much of a drag since we can go to Murphy USA where I work or to Costco which isn’t that far away. 10 miles.  And it’s better than the Ford!   I guess we will see how this plays out later.   Willow

Two things amaze me, One how fast short haired dogs dry. Two how did you keep from loosing your glasses? I'm glad you wear a life jacket while kayaking even on smooth waters such as ponds or lakes. I'm guessing you learned a few things about landing and exiting the kayak.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Aside from the X-Files, Gilmore Girls is easily my favorite TV show. I originally watched the original airing in the commuter lounge at my college starting in 2000 because I was embarrassed to watch it at home when I living as a man. Now that I am out and transitioned, I watch it openly and wear Gilmore Girls t-shirts at work on days that I wear a skirt. For Valentine’s Day, my wife bought me the DVD’s. Yesterday I had to stay at work late because of an IT problem (I am not IT so I just had to make sure the pump stations telemetry was functioning properly before I could leave, IT did the actual work) and so I watched it on Netflix. Lorelai Gilmore inspired me to change my name to Lorelei. Yes, I picked a more traditional spelling on the name. The mother daughter interaction between them is heartwarming and sometimes hilarious. Last week I just started rewatching it again. Ironically I relate most to Luke, very rare as I almost always relate to a female character. Anyone else here love the show?
    • Mmindy
Good morning everyone,   @Birdie continued prayers for you as they figure thing out. I'm glad you're being properly cared for.   @April Marie I love the pageantry of the Kentucky Derby the bright dresses, and fascinating hats worn by the ladies. As for the mint juleps... I'll pass, they're just to aromatic for me.  We'll be watching "The Fastest Two Minutes in Sports" as well.   @Adrianna Danielle & @awkward-yet-sweet it is amazing how a new stove seems to cook food better. Cooking for 36 people is a phenomenal task, and if you're doing it on anything less than a professional cook stove. You're preforming miracles, and I wish you the best.   My yard work is done for the day, because I don't have to wait until Saturday to do it. I'm getting use to this mostly retired situation. The windows and doors have been open since I first got up and the yard is full of bird songs. I have the best neighbors because they don't start their noisy yard work until very late morning or early afternoon.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
