What do y'alls think? Should I go to the VA and hope that they can help me or should I try and pay for insurance. I've been really confused on this part. I'm already on hrt and have the problem of running out of medicine and not having enough to pay for it and i have no insurance :/ I'm just so confused on this i don't know what to do :(

I would do it hun! You need health Insurance and you don't have enough to pay for it, so please, do it!!

I am sure that you don't want to run out of your "happy pills" so please do it. :)

I love you

Run don't walk to your primary care doctor.

If you don't have one get one by going to the primary care clinic and requesting one.

You are the person they are there to serve.

PM me if you don't get what you need I can guide you into saying the right things to the right people to move that lumbering giant.

Huggs,

They are paying for my HRT and Gender Therapy. You should get no less than I or any other veteran in need.

I am just getting started with the VA Willow.

My bff,a one year postop just got on with the VA.

Her advice is to have your prescriptions in hand

when you go/are refered,to your new attending physican.

Since you have a history, take your medical records showing

how long,test's/bloodwork,preformed,and the history of the

prescriptons you take. The VA docs wont go through the hassle

of prescibing if you don't have them in hand when you walk in.

Using the VA is a shot in the dark, some locals treat us,some don't.

Good Luck Sis,

Angie

Yes, Ang......

That's the part that sux....

The VA is NOT standardized!

It's a crap shoot from one to the next...

I hear girls talk about getting therapy/HRT through the VA and then others won't even get you an asprin...

I used the VA back in the 80's due to Agent Orange poisoning in 'Nam....they would do very little for me...

I had to get it all covered on my Blue Cross/Blue Shield...

I wish all very good luck!
