Accessories / Earrings

Hi ladies, it's been a while but I found something I had been desperate for and wanted to share

my discovery!

For a long time I have been searching for earrings that clip on, specifically hoops. Since I can not

get my ears pierced without answering too many questions I looked everywhere for clip-ons.

At a recent trip to the mall (in guy mode) I decided to stop into Claire's Boutique. I was pleasantly surprised

to find some awesome clip on hoops! They have a kind of pancake back and the front of the ear is just part of the hoop.

I had looked all over the internet for these, and found them but I never wanted to have to wait so I did not bother.

It's great to have earrings like these! THey make such a difference in the way I look and feel!

Anyway, check out Claire's if there's one in a mall near you, I think they were only $7. Now, If I could just find

some nice fake nails that were easy on and off!

Alissa...thanks for the info......

I have found tons of clip ons at flea markets/rummage sales...they don't seem very popular anymore with pierced ears being all the rage!

I'm lucky in that my friend makes & sells her jewellery for a living, so she's more than happy to make stuff for me. Only thing I would caution against, is that sometimes people can go overboard with jewellery, wearing too much of it at once which can make a person look like mutton dressed as lamb. So long as it compliments the overall look you're trying achieve though, then I think its all good.

Since I haven't "yet" been able to pierce my ears, though I promise it will happen one day, what I do is buy the pierced ones you like and then convert them to clip-ons. I typically wear dangle, hoops, or chandelier (nothing tiny). Go to Michael's craft store and buy a package of silver or gold clip-ons for jewely making and then remove the pierce wire -- and save it :) -- and then replace with the clip. This way a majority of earrings can be worn as clips.

My wife bought me some awesome earrings from American eagle that I grudgingly converted.

i use to buy them at second hand stores, before I pierced my ears.

I see them for sale still and most of the superstores around here like Walmart and Fred Meyers.

They are kind of easy to loose :(

@MaeBe, Good luck and best wishes on the new start in the Great Northwest. I don’t know a parent that didn’t call out their kids for being drunk or high as rebellious teenagers. I just told my teens that they can’t kid a kidder, and I was a teenager early 1970s we could drink legally at 18 so I have tons of experience spotting drunk kids.    As for the poetry, I liked it.  We never have enough support bras or tee shirts in the rotation.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Oh my @KymmieL, I’m sorry you’re on the job hunt again. They didn’t seem to be a good fit for you anyway. You deserve to be treated fairly and not undermined by competing owners who don’t communicate well.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Greetings everyone,   This is my introduction, I'm old and like donuts!  Let's see, what else...   I started my transition VERY recently, 5/17, after feeling like I've been uncomfortable doing it for like 20 years.  I lived in states where LGBT rights are strained, and have recently moved to a more friendly state.  I'm short, like gardening and crafts and rain.  Still a huge mixture of nervous, scared, excited and elated to finally be in a position where I can start.  I'm kind of easily excited, have the attention span of a humming bird does that to one, and usually medicate that with video games.  Not much else about me for now.  Started exercising so I can get my weight down as part of the transformation.  Still, I joined as I have questions and wanted to be with like minded folks.   Also, love trading recipes.
