Another "do I Pass?" Thread (with Caveats)

Hi everyone -

I just wanted to check in with the experts to see if I am anywhere near passing. These pics aren't my best work, or me at my most feminine. I could use a close shave, a brushing out of my hair, and make-up. I didn't include a close-up because I didn't take one, but I might just take a few tomorrow. Any tips would be vastly appreciated (my primary goal is to pass as female, rather than looking andro or simply throwing away binary gender)...

Pic 1 - Full-Frontal Shot

IMG_0054.jpg

Pic 2 - Another Full-Frontal (toned down breasts)

IMG_0073.jpg

Pic 3 - My favorite of the three. I consider this one of my better pictures.

PS - Honestly, would I have an easier time passing with the larger forms or not? I feel they do more good than harm, but I'm biased.

Thanks!

Krys......

Hon, I'm not sure where you're heading.....but if you want to transition you've got all that you need...You have a very good body, slim, no big shoulders....

Your face is good and I thing HRT would treat you right...

I personally like the bigger forms on you...more of a cue....

Maybe next time a close shave and some makeup....OK?

Good body potential, nice facial potential - but the scowl and the beard - terrible. And BEAUTIFUL hair.

I like the second photo of you better, but I like the outfit and the necklace in the first one more ;). So cute!

And, yeah, what everyone else said.

Its either the shadows, my eyes, or you have some facial hair showing. Maybe use some foundation.

The Hair looks good. I would suggest getting some more-girly glasses. The Jeans slim very well.

I like the first one's hair better. And I really like the belt.

I'd say for the first picture, get some concealer and more girly glasses and your good.

As for the second picture, hmm.. the only thing that seems off is your facial structure. This isn't a problem per se, but you might want to do the hair to frame your face more like the first picture.

You look nice.

And as for breasts, I think your OK.

Thanks for the input. I'm not really sure where I'm going myself, but it's nice to know that when I see myself as feminine / passable (with work!) / etc., it's not all in my head. Next time, I'll post pics of me in full femme mode...I'm excited already. =]

Yeah. Bigger the better, or so they say. XD

A close shave and you're good.

Not always! Bigger = bigger bills from back problems! (lol) The only thing I worry about is that the bigger forms have, erm..."nipples," that stick out fairly prominently based on what top I'm wearing, which can be slightly embarrassing...

...but scowls are so hot! I mean seriously, is there a bigger turn-on? In all seriousness, I totally get where you are coming from. I really appreciate your honesty, though. Thanks for the comment on my hair! I've been growing it out for almost 2 years, so it's something I'm really proud of. I just need to style it a bit more effectively than: "part down the middle and you're done." :P

Aww, thanks! I used to joke I had the fashion sense of a 14-year-old girl...I think I've improved a little bit since I first started. I should add that the first outfit, or at least the first top does not look nearly as good without something to fill it out...

Quick question - where could I get more "girly glasses"? I've looked on Amazon and eBay with no success. Also, yeah, there was a little stubble on my face in the above pics (not very feminine!!), but that's reasonably easy to take care of, at least in the short term. Also, I definitely want to take advantage of my hair...I've been growing it out for so long, it would be a shame to not get the most mileage out of it. Thanks again for the comments!

Also, it seems like the third pic didn't load. Here it is again (facial hair fail...I know):

About finding more 'girly glasses' - I went to get my latest pair with the thought in mind that I will be wearing them as a female as well as male at work.

Unfortunately my unaccepting mother hitched a ride to get her new glasses as well.

I looked in the female frames, Unisex frames and men's frames - I selected a pair that was available in all three - it was easy!

Love ya,

Sally

Oh, I see. That makes sense to me. My only question would be this: what should I do if I don't actually need glasses? The ones I wear in the picture are only for "show," as they have clear lenses and do not modify my eyesight at all...

You might want to consider swaping out the chunky strap bracelet for something else. They've always struck me as being rather masculine. Maybe something with a thinner strap or a charm bracelet of some kind?

First of all, I have to say, I LOVE your outfit in the first pic. ADORABLE!

Second, yes the facial hair has to go, and if your planning on getting serious with transition, you might be a good candidate for a brow lift/reduction, depending on what hormones do for you, and maybe a rhino. Scowls, sorry I have to agree with Liz, not sexy.

Third, about the breast size, typically natural breasts are smaller on skinny girls. So bigger doesn't equal better necessarily (despite what any guy will tell you). To pass best you'll want to size them according to your frame. In your pics, I'd say the smaller are too small, and the bigger are too big. Try and find something in between.

Other than that, you've got a great body and you're well on your way!

Hi Krys !

You have a very nice proportion to height. If you don't need the glasses, why not try a couple of shots with no glasses, or with feminine dark glasses placed up in your nice hair. Have you ever tried loop earrings?

A lot of women in this area wear white or jean pants that come down three or four inches below the knees. Do you have any pants like that so you can show a little leg? Perhaps if you can find some hip forms to bring your hips up to proportion with your breasts, I think you will like the results. Hope I'm not being overly critical. You are light-years ahead of me, and you have several features that are working in your favor!

Hugs!

Good call! Working on that as we speak, actually. I've got a few nice packages headed to my door which should address the problem. I need to be careful, though; if accessorizing is always this fun, I might be out a lot of money quite quickly! Thanks for the tip, by the way.

Thank you for your kind words. I used to joke that I had the fashion sense of a 14-year-old (girl, of course), but I guess I'm getting a little better. Dunno what my transition plans are just yet (hence MT?), but at this point I'm just trying to work with what I have and seeing how things pan out. Also, scowls are so hot! (lol!) I'm a song-writer in my free time, and I think that's going to be my next project...

Also, I had a sneaking suspicion they were too big. I suppose it doesn't help that I have a penchant for larger breasts, myself. All things considered, I'm going to look into more sizes and see what works. Thanks for your encouragement, though! I'm really excited to see where this journey will take me.

Hey Opal -

Thanks! I don't have any pants like that (aren't they called capris?), but before I showed any leg I'd have to give my legs a little attention. (If you think scowls are unattractive, hairy legs are about 10 times worse.) I do actually have a set of "hip enhancers," though I never really took a shine to them. I'll have another look and see if I like them any better now. Also, you're not being overly critical. This is exactly the type of feedback I was looking for! Thank you very much for the compliments! ^^

Well, Krys....

You've gotten all of these good critiques and lots of wonderful advice....

When do WE get something?

Like pics that are incorporating some of these things into them?

I've got a few things coming in the mail that will help me with my appearance (go go epilator). As soon as I've got all that sorted, I'll post more pics for more critique. There will be significantly less stubble, and at least 10% less scowling. Allegedly.

Update! I had a go at taking more pictures today, taking everything into consideration. I even managed to "find" some concealer in the house. Here's what I've learned -

- Me + Straight-Leg Jeans = ...awkwwaaard

- I need to get concealer that's a little darker than my skin tone. The one I used was lighter and it made me look a little...odd.

- I've acquired a few pieces of jewelry that suck less...I think my jewelry and I will have a long, loving relationship.

- I scowled less! I swear! (lol)

- I shouldn't be taking pictures the day after I was out partying until 5AM. That doesn't seem to yield the best results (surprisingly, lol). Also, my camera sucks. Cry more, noob. XD

So...I'm going to get some sleep, wait a few days, and try again. That should produce better results, methinks. =]
