Choose To Fight

A cloud came to rain on my parade

And each and every night that I had prayed

That ‘lord’ never seemed to come to my aid

The pain inside just remained

I couldn’t stand the way life’s game was being played

I felt so lost and betrayed

Surrendering to the tears as they’d cascade

Every word, action and sound was like a grenade

And when the explosions had ended the demons would go on their winning parade

I fell short of hope and started to fade

Falling into a masquerade

I didn’t know what to do so in the darkness I just stayed

Letting all these monsters and demons free to invade

I cried myself to sleep every night

I had to choose between fight or flight

Had to open up my eyes to see the light

Had to give myself a complete fright

Had to decide what was wrong or right

Had to pick a passion for me to ignite

Had to become my own knight

It was up to me, live or die

Wouldn’t you choose to fight?
