I'm gonna try to look at the positives. I was out with my parents and wife today, the first three I'm coming out to, and I was able to eat like half a salad. If this keeps up it will be a great jumpstart to my diet.

Just to let you know, I have a soon to be 4 year old, 15 month old and 3 month old. It is not easy making the decision I made considering their ages but I could no longer go on like this.

I have a 6 and a 2 yo. Both boys that Im supposed to teach how to be men I keep being told. Well they better have a book on that one. I'm prob slightly better than the 6yo at playing catch right now.

I have this fear Im going to come out to my wife and she's going to try to take my kids away. I don't think she's that kinda person but it's in the back of my mind.

I had the same fear but if we continue to allow our fears run our lives than we will never truly be happy. We may be happy on the outside but on the inside is a different question because we will always wonder what if.

A warm welcome to Laura's and to our family here, Karen. Two things about transitioning: there is no way to predict the future when it comes to relationships, especially marriages that will endure and those that will not. That is the scary part. And yes there are difficulties along the way---and unexpected twists and turns in our individual journeys. But there is also great joy along the way. The joy of experiencing ourselves blossom and become the people we had always wished we could be. The joy of being ourselves and the joy of experiencing ourselves in the gender we were meant to be and no longer struggling to be who we were never meant to be. Look for the joy, Sweetie and you will find it.

I want you to know that I understand that. I have an almost-1-year-old myself. Luckily, that's as far as he's gotten before I have fully transitioned.

Still, I'm going to teach him tolerance as the most important thing.

Now, I know that I'm young and that I've no right to give parenting advice, but it might not be too late to begin teaching tolerance before your coming out.

Food for thought.
