Problem Finding An Electrologist

Guest Opal

Recommended Posts

I had found an electrologist and called her this week, but sadly, she has gone out of business because of the economy. She also was experienced with laser hair removal, and close by. She was very personable on the phone, and we did discuss various things about permanent hair removal. Wish I would have contacted her about three years ago. Between my back and my face, I probably would have kept her in business.

I then checked around in the town I see my therapist in. She had mentioned one place, so I went by and was told that they don't do either type of hair removal, and didn't know of anyone who did in the area any longer.

So I guess its just concentrate on my voice training for now, and try not to get too depressed about it.

Hugs, (I'll try hard not to whisker burn you)

Opal, do you have any GLBT groups any your area? If so reach out to them and ask who they use. That is how I found the electrolysis lady I use. They usually have had the same problem finding one and more than willing to share theirs with you. That way you can find out how good they are at the same time. Good Luck in finding one.

Hi Sarah,

This is a pretty rural area, so as far as my therapist and I know, there are no GLBT groups nearby. I hope sometime to travel up to Denver and attend a meeting of some kind, but I don't have any relatives nearby to watch my dad, and I hate to keep imposing on my neighbors to watch him. After posting, I did happen to think about the Junior college. They have a cosmology program. They might know of someone. Somehow, I don't think getting out my welder to do electrolysis would be a good idea. :)

Hugs,

Opal

Opal, you may have to do a little traveling to get the treatments you need, but the good thing is that you may not need to see the electro more than once every 2-3 weeks. Not great, but doable, I hope.

Keep looking, though. You never know when a new place will open up.

Hi Carolyn!

Unfortunately, I'm pretty limited in how far I can travel. I can still start working on my 'voice', so I think I just need to stay patient and not get too discouraged over this. Thank you Dear, for your support and concern!

Hugs,

Opal

.

Opal, Hon.....

I live in rural Ohio...

On Saturday mornings, I get up at 5:30 and drive a little over an hour north to my electrologist.

And since it's such a distance, we do 3 hours at a time!

It's doable...

Also, to find one...

Google your state and LGBT organizations....

That is how I found my prescribing doctor!

They usually have a line on things that we need.

It's worth an e-mail....

Good luck, Dear!
