Hey everyone,

Just give you a heads up,

I finally told my Dad.

WOW.

I am still shaking from telling him.

Surprisingly He said "I don't care what you do as long as it keeps you from killing yourself, But you don't need to go through HRT, or SRS to be yourself." "So what that you have a female brain." "You will just get along with girls better that's all" "There is no need to change your name or do anything else."

SO......

Well I am stunned. I had no clue he would say that. Mind you he also told me that the men on His side have all had low Testosterone levels as well. Another surprise.

I am exhausted. More so from the worry, and wondering what he would say, then the actual conversation. LOL.

Another step towards womanhood. *small yay*

Love to all

Ree

Ree :)

I am glad that you have come out to your father. Coming out is a very important step.

With that said, I would be careful about allowing him to dictate to you what is right for you.

You know what is right for you :)

Congratulations,

I remember how scary it was coming out to my dad who has a short temper and I have seen catch a small block Chevy V8 by the exhaust ports, throw a 100 lbs crankshaft the width of a two car garage because it peed him off for being in the way when he was putting the welding tanks back and run down my husky as well as superman catching a car with no brakes or transmission down the driveway by himself as I put the block behind it to keep it from rolling into the street. I really didn't plan to come out to him when I did my stepsister kinda outed me and luckily he took it a million times better than what I thought, thank the gods. He said While he didn't understand it I am old enough to do what I want and whatever makes me happy. while its been over a year we are still having the name fight and I think he is glad I am a femme butch a small levee because while I like to be femme away from him alot of the time I will still get greasy working on sleds and help move stuff and all. He is alot more supportive than my mom was who wanted to kick me out and drama with that stuff caused me to go back into the closet til I bought my own house and started living alone. While he did give me an appreciation for bikers and old bike clubs I still love the quote from Ralph "Sonny" Barger "Customize yourself originals don't come off the assembly line." I hope he supports you all the way through your transition because when we are starting out we need all the support we can get. Also remember fortune favors the brave.

Hi Rachael,

<<< hug >>>

I am happy to see that you are becoming more comfortable as the woman you are.

It sounds like your Dad loves you very much, but don't let him denture you from doing HRT , a name change, and SRS if it is what your heart feel that it needs to be complete.

Always be true to yourself.

Ree I am so happy for you right now. Come here and give me a big hugg.

Your father was understanding to a point and that is all you can ask for right now. I would let him know what your plans are for the future when you get the courage to talk about it again. Like others have said, don't let him try to tell you how far to go. That is your decision not his.
