Question Of Being Androgyne

I've been doing some research about the word of what not it only means, but where it places us into he human race. I find to my amasement, its runs all through history even before Adam an Eve. The real question is, how many are there is in this whole world, and what is their purpose of being here. Well, each one us has a special quality, and characeristics. It's like were all gaurdian angels in our current lifetime, and were hear for a purpose especially being Androgyne. Being Androgyne is not a gender, but having characteristics of both male and female.

I was looking into my dad's side of the family, person I was raised around the most. A nice person, and also caring man. He did not hit me, or anything just treated nice. I've been looking where I fit into the picture, of having a dad that the way he was. From what i understand, about where my dad is from (Hungary), his family is a very nice and considerate people. And now it runs in my blood as well, but I have these qualities of being female, but still have some male qualities left. And, my oldest daughter, has the same heart as I, loving, caring, and kindess that will make you want to cry. My real question is, am I Androgyne or i'm just plain female in heart.

When I now talk to my mom, after being on hormones, our conversations are more open minded, its just like were connecting for some unusual reason. Before I started hormones, life was different when i was talking to mom, everything was kinda uneasy, but know things are more easy going and more aware of myself and my surrounings. If anybody has a real answer to this, please feel free to give an answer.

i would only suggest you be careful classifying gender according to the content of character, traci nicole. i know some men, who are all men, who are very nice, decent and caring people. your gender is just something you feel inside. it is devoid of all other characteristics. some women can be just as uncaring, insensitive and uncouth as the worst man you've ever met, yet she is still a woman. your gender is what you are, not what you do or how you express yourself. i think i said earlier, stereotypes are merely indicators, they are not answers. lotsa love and hope, pj

Traci,

Something motivated me to reread over the Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu, and I found something that might inspire you here: http://acc6.its.brooklyn.cuny.edu/~phalsal...aote-v3.html#28

Know the male,

yet keep to the female:

receive the world in your arms.

If you receive the world,

the Tao will never leave you

and you will be like a little child.

Know the white,

yet keep to the black:

be a pattern for the world.

If you are a pattern for the world,

the Tao will be strong inside you

and there will be nothing you can't do.

Know the personal,

yet keep to the impersonal:

accept the world as it is.

If you accept the world,

the Tao will be luminous inside you

and you will return to your primal self.

The world is formed from the void,

like utensils from a block of wood.

The Master knows the utensils,

yet keeps to the the block:

thus she can use all things.

Hi Traci Nicole. My personal take on all this is that I can't be bothered worrying my head over whether I'm TS, TG or androgynous. Just the facts ma'am. Stick to what you know, not what to call yourself. Yes, it is helpful sometimes to stick a label on yourself to give people without a clue a starting point. The danger is that some people will just put you in a bin with that label.

To me, the telling point is that you're on hormones and apparently happy with it. Go from there. Ask yourself how you want to live your life. Do you want to find a public persona that you're happy with and stick with it? Do you want to live in different modes? What kind of people do you want to have relations with? What do you like, what do you want? These questions are for you to answer for yourself. You don't have to fit into any mold.

Woh. You have touched on lots of things here.

"The real question is, how many are there is in this whole world"

Depends on your definition of Androgyne. If you look in a dictionary androgyne as a noun can refer to a hermaphrodite, an effeminate man as in a eunuch or an androgynous plant. On this site most of us when we say androgyne are referring to a gender identity. This is something you feel inside. As Penny Jane said, gender identity it is who you are inside and not how you act. There are probably not many at all - personally I think there are actually a variety of non-binary gender types that could fit within the term 'androgyne'.

"what is their purpose of being here"

I'm only referring to Androgyne the gender identity here when I say I don't know. Might as well ask what is anyone's purpose? If you believe in a higher power like the christian god then maybe you are here as part of his/her plan. Or we are actually here to oppose gods plan - like we are an evil in the world and our purpose is to do the devils work. It might be androgynes are the people's link to the spiritual world as believed by some native American tribes. If you are an evolutionary biologist then you could suggest the androgynes play an important role in the survival of the species, they act as mediators, councillors and as a kind of social glue. Or we could simply be a biological mutation with no more purpose than anyone else. It could be independent of our purpose. Personally I have certain 'gifts' associated with being transgendered. Maybe my purpose is to use those gifts to help others.

"Being Androgyne is not a gender, but having characteristics of both male and female."

As I mentioned 'androgyne' can apply to lots of different things. You can look androgynous, you can act androgynous, but his does not mean your gender identity is androgyne. As PennyJane said, gender is what you feel inside, not how you act.

"And now it runs in my blood as well, but I have these qualities of being female, but still have some male qualities left. And, my oldest daughter, has the same heart as I, loving, caring, and kindness that will make you want to cry. My real question is, am I Androgyne or i'm just plain female in heart."

I don't really know what your trying to say here. I don't think it matters who you are descended from. It also does not matter if someone acts exactly the same as you. If you feel that you are an androgyne or a woman then that's what you are. Lots of people have a combination of 'qualities'. What makes those qualities masculine or feminine depends largely on your culture. In some cultures it would be seen as unmanly for a man to cry in public while in others it is acceptable male behaviour. Does this mean that if I cry in one country I am a man and if I cry in another I am a woman? I don't think so. I could be a butcher of men like my Cossack forbears but I would still have the same gender.

Only you can answer this question. Do you feel like a woman at heart?

"When I now talk to my mom, after being on hormones, our conversations are more open minded, its just like were connecting for some unusual reason. Before I started hormones, life was different when i was talking to mom, everything was kinda uneasy, but know things are more easy going and more aware of myself and my surrounings. If anybody has a real answer to this, please feel free to give an answer. "

The hormones are allowing you to be more like you are supposed to be, so naturally you are more happy and relaxed and open. Life's seems better eh?

I think I will also take a try at these questions, NickSister.

"The real question is, how many are there is in this whole world"

I have wondered the same thing. There are websites which talk about the possibility of mixed gender being the most common transgender identification. Then there are others which believe it to be much lower. Personally, I think an accurate count is impossible at the moment. To too many people, what is an androgyne looks to be something wrong or immoral, so there is a certain stigma associated with it even appart from the general transgender stigma. It does seem that our numbers are growing, not in truth, but just that more people are becoming aware of themselves and there is support out there for them to feel okay with themselves and their gender.

"what is their purpose of being here"

Well, I don't think we have a PURPOSE persay. But then, I don't think anyone trully has a purpose outside of what they make for themselves. I'm a biologist, so I tend to look at this from a very nonspiritual perspective, neurology and physiology and psychology, etc. However, there are some ideas that do come to mind. I think it was the anchent Greeks who believed that those that showed characters of both male and female were a sort of spiritual link between the two. In many ways, I can see this, as androgynes seem to adept at poking holes in gender steriotypes and can communicate well with both genders. In addition, androgynes seem to me to have a great deal of understanding and common curtesy when it comes to differences between people. Just some thoughts.

"Being Androgyne is not a gender, but having characteristics of both male and female."

I would have to disagree with this statement. Being androgyne is most definatly a gender identification for me. Were it a completly physical and physiological manifestation, I would consider it intersex. I think we can agree that the terms intersex and androgyne reffer to two separate things. However, as far as gender goes, I would agree that an androgyne has gender identity characteristics of both male and female genders, which may include behaviors, gender roles, inclinations, thought processes, etc. While an androgyne can be intersex, it is no more manditory than an intersex being androgyne.

"And now it runs in my blood as well, but I have these qualities of being female, but still have some male qualities left. And, my oldest daughter, has the same heart as I, loving, caring, and kindness that will make you want to cry. My real question is, am I Androgyne or i'm just plain female in heart."

That is for you to decide. Only you can draft that, and I wish you the best in that decision. If you feel you are female, then you are female. If you feel you are androgyne, you are androgyne. There is no problem with either decision, as long as you feel it is best.

It seems that you feel more at home in your body than you did before. Part of it was probably just embracing who you are. Less stress means happier person. And that probably boosted your awareness up too.

Much Love,

I see that I have got alot of responses on this subject. It's just that so many questions come through my head, its pretty much like what i said; why, were, and purpose. Nobody in this whole can be perfect, but a decision is a decision. My mind feels, different I don't know why, and I can't explain why. Its just seems if there is no life, than there is no purpose. My feelings seem so different, just trying to figure what heart is saying. The heart, yes can be a funny thing in our lifes, without it our human bodies can't operate, but the heart is our life force to operate. My heart it tells me I'm female, but there is another part that says you are part of something. I thanks, for the responses, and I greatly apreciate. I'm starting to cry, for no apparent reason. I don't know what it is feelings, or just emotions. But my heart burns for something I just can't seem to grasp. I still need more input, please help.

Thanks Sophie Jean, for great moment, its truely inspirational and its get to the heart.

Don't feel like you are rushed in any decisions you might make. Take your time, explore yourself.

It is true, with no life, there is no purpose. However, life, at its very base, is a self replicating system that grows and interacts with the environment. This alone gives life a teleos, a will, a will to survive. For if it didn't survive, it wouldn't exist. And over time this teleos has included more and more things; what was once basic metabolism, in the stramatolites of the Proterozoic, converting sunlight to teleos, now is much more complex, a life form which needs not only food for the body, but also for the interesting network of cells we call mind. The mind grasps at everything, and learning is health, exploring oneself with thought and emotion is daily bread. Gender is yet another aspect of that.

Ugh....see, this is what happens when people let me wax philosophic! :D

I would like to point out that androgyne is indeed a gender. Male and female are not the only genders.

YEP! That's what it's about! ALWAYS trust your gut feeling, your heart, and your intuition, because it never cheats. I listned to it, and it said: Androgyne and now I am on top of my world! couldn't be more happier!

I wonder why people always look for a purpose. Why can't life be a dance, which is essential pointless to begin with. Maybe it's just fun? Looking for a purpose is purposeless in my eyes. But it can be fun to look for a purpose, it keeps one busy. Seriously, fun is purposless as well, but it does make you feel good doesn't it? Maybe that's the "purpose": Being happy! :D

The months of June has already been planned out for me with only minimal time for sleep between the Trans Chorus Of Los Angeles and the various communities around me that are in the service area of the LGBTQ  Center I was on the Board of Directors of that are having Pride Events, both LGBTQ Pride and Trans Pride stand alone events.

Very cool. I've been clumsily navigating the world of makeup so this may help. Some of the tutorials on YouTube are so advanced, they may as well be speaking Klingon :P

I've realized that our laptops are using much less plastic than they used to.  They are smaller devices that use less raw materials and are easier to ship and hold up better in shipping than bigger computers with removable parts.  They seem to have gotten rid of the overheating/fan problem for the most part, but there is a performance hit for that.  I use a 10yo desktop computer with a moderate level gaming video card to run 3 monitors.  I'm a producer though and most consumers have no need for that.   I really haven't watched TV since the 80's.  I spend some time researching on the internet and then I spend a lot of time meditating on the objects in my environment and on the streets.  From living on the streets for a year, I've learned that people can say anything and can control you, but the laws of physics and mathematics are outside of that and really even transcend time itself.  After people would not support my music, I built my life as a software engineer based on mathematics and engineering.  I've had a moderately successful career with that and have written code for many different industries.   The problem with stopping oil usage is that if we still need the bitumen to pave our roads and shingle our houses, then what do we do with the gas when we refine it?  There are natural deposits of bitumen, but you know, with so many people out there, demand is huge and we are using this stuff up.  If you grow corn for corn syrup, then what do you do with the cobs?  We've shipped coffee and bananas all over the world.  We took material from those environments.  What do we do now?  How long can it last?

I think that threats that can be proven should be incarcerated for half the sentence of the one they would commit if carried out.  Lies unfortunately are just words unless as you stated if not under oath.
    • Ivy
I think it depends on where and how it's happening. We also need safe places where, the perhaps more easily intimidated, can feel free to express themselves.     And what about threats of violence?  Can this lead to a place where only the violent can have this freedom?  Is it "free speech" to threaten and intimidate opposing views into silence?  I mean maybe, if I can say anything - "if you don't shut up I'll kill you."   Or spreading lies?  (perhaps about an election). Lying is okay, unless you're under oath - for what that's worth.   Censoring books in schools?  That was fine until the bible was included.  (there is some nasty stuff in there) Then, there's what used to be that free speech birdie place.  You can denigrate queer people all you want, but "cis" is a slur, and prohibited?  Free speech as long as I like it? And let's not go into court cases and gag orders. Porn?

I have noticed when anyone speaks against their though process they don't like it no matter what sided. Republicans are quick to defend Trump when he's not professional and treats his employees like crap. One employee didn't get paid at all and then he had the nerve to say that he would sue the worker. He already has a model as his wife and still goes after other women. Biden gets lost quicker than a 2nd Lieutenant gets lost at land navigation. Not to mention his open border policy which is flooding the country and can't even take care of the American citizens that we have now. I could go on about both sides. I personally don't get mad at anything someone says to me. I know it's not true so I'm over it before it even starts. You have to have thick skin.

For some people, diversity of thought is okay as long as you agree with them.  I have noticed this on both sides.  Yesterday I got cussed out on FB for advocating the rule of law, which I thought an innocuous thing to advocate, because the danger a certain alleged totalitarian poses to our country.  So we should throw out the law to protect the law in the view of this person.  For that I was greeted with a long stream of obscenity.  The cussing poster claims to be Republican, which is supposed to be all MAGA and right wing and all and law and order.  Strange.   I don't think I have been cussed out by someone on the left.  I have been insulted in knowledge and intelligence and worship of Trump (which is false) but not directly cussed out.  And they get bent out of shape badly if you disagree with them, typically. Come to think of it, I have been.  Disagreeing with someone apparently is the worst thing you can do to them, invalidating their identity or something.   There is REAL diversity on this forum, and for the most part we get along.  Even if I were not dealing with trans stuff, it would be attractive that way.

I put out an ad on Indeed for a campaign manager in January.  I got 435 responses and had meetings with 2 of them every day for a month.  No one was willing to donate enough time to my campaign to jump start donations so that I could pay them a salary.  Reposting is an excellent idea.  I don't have the time for it.  I'd love it if people would just make creative clones of my website like in the old css zen garden days 20 years ago.  I have $26.50 in my bank account today and need to sell my fancy, almost mint condition, Specialized M2 bicycle for less than $200 to buy food.   Stepping into this executive level role like I have is very intense work and I've been sleeping 4 hours a night for the last two months to stay in character.  In other words, I could use some help.  I've had 3 Gen Z transwoman musicians living with me this year and all 5 of us that have lived in my house this year have significant time living in cars and the streets.  My first wife is a symphony conductor, arranger, bass trombonist and carpenter who used to do concrete work on the freeway.  I have a picture of her on a private plane with Yo-Yo Ma from almost a quarter century ago.  I'm not just some crazy street person with $26.50 in my bank account.  I've played music for Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton and I played a gig with Ray Charles in 1995.  And that is just the beginning of my story.  It's not easy to change the reproductive habits of 8 billion people.

(I'm no poet, so this is more just melodramatic word vomit lol)   Where did the hurt go? Where are the tears on my face? Hole in me, I need it so The sound, followed by a sting Feels empty now, staring into space Feels like I'm in a pile for discard Where are the things that made it home? Isn't home that place you're loved so hard that you want to die?   Why aren't you louder? Why don't you tell me those things anymore? You're supposed to make me cower The iron hand turns to a feather Without your anger, I don't know what's in store I want it and don't, it's kind of hard Where are the things that made you home? Isn't home the place you're loved so hard that you want to die?   Why doesn't he speak the same? Where are the comments that made me feel like a fool? Useless, B for bad, a weirdo, I'll take the blame Sharp words are too soft now I'll try to stay on these strings, play to his rule I need those words to go between my mind's shards Where are the things that made him home? Isn't home the place you're loved so hard that you want to die?   Why aren't they loved the same? Why did you love me so different until now? A gentle hand guides them instead of the gauntlet's claim Was I special, maybe? You're supposed to be hard as steel, now you bow Or perhaps it was because something was wrong with me, on my guard Where are the things to make them at home? Isn't home the place you're loved so hard that you want to die?   Where are the familiar things? Where are the echoes of a scream, the sting after I did something wrong? Should I fear what you're now doing? Too gentle, maybe you'll leave me alone like you used to Like the other one does, this was fate all along Hurt me, belittle me, please just make it home? I don't want you to leave, just love me so hard that I want it to end and keep going all at once

China, India and Africa have the biggest population problems.  I'm a jazz musician who does Zen meditation and cooks curries every day.  Kamala Harris has Indian and African heritage and is strong on Planned Parenthood and abortion rights.  I've reached out several times to Kamala in the last few months to try to get her endorsement.   Susheela Jayapal is running against me and she was born in India and is endorsed by Bernie Sanders.  I'd like to see Kamala Harris as president, me as vice-president and Susheela Jayapal and Maxine Dexter in our Oregon Federal positions.  We can be highly visible and move the needle on population world-wide with this combination in my opinion.  If we can't pave our roads in 75 years, how are we going to get food to all those people.  I don't think there is a space age solution to our oil problem and our society must reverse course.   As dire as all this sounds, what I'm suggesting is that we give up the rat race and literally have a world sports and music party for the next 40 years while we decrease population.  A decreasing population will have no need for new housing, so that won't be a problem.  I think we can give up this rat race finally.   At least China recognizes there is a problem with population and has actually done something to address it.  Yes, our birthrate is falling, but we certainly are not at the 1:2 ratio that I think we need to be at.  Without making a big deal about this, we'll just be following the path of least resistance picking up our mochas on the way to work 40 hours/week in our SUV.
