Coming Out At Work

Last week I came out to my boss and the director of our group. This week our entire department had a diversity training but I haven't told all of my coworkers yet. I was able to get a meeting setup through my boss for next tuesday to come out to the rest of the people in my department. In total thats about 70 people. I'm a little nervous about coming out to so many poeple at once. But I figure it is better to tell everyone at once to minimize gossip getting out of hand and causing rumers. Once I'm done with this meeting I only have to wait for the name change to go through and I can start full time at work.

It's both nerve wracking and very exciting, almost like christmas as a kid.

Natalie, things are going to go great with your co-workers, I just know it.

I would wish you good luck, but you already have that. :D

Please let us know how it goes. I'm expecting a happy post.

.

WOW!

What a weird feeling for me!

I'm sitting here as excited as all get out for you!

I know that it's scary, but coming out to that many folks is like taking a BandAid off quickly! ZIPP! DONE!

Love & HUGGS!

Yeah exactly. Why prolong it and just give it time for people to gossip and have rumers start between people that I haven't told yet. If I tell everyone at once all I have to deal with (lol yeah I know, thats all) is preconceptions and the talk that comes from that.

It's been two or three weeks< I've lost track, since I mailed in my name change petition to the local courthouse. I hope that the court order arrives soon. It would be awesome if I could go full time before this month is through.

Yes it would....

And, of course we are all concerned (nosey) about how it goes!

HUGGS & LUCK!

I hope your meeting goes well and you are accepted by all. If they see the woman I see than you shouldn't have a problem. Let us know how it goes and Good Luck.

Don't worry Donna I'll let you all know how things go on tuesday.

Sadly Sarah, in work mens cloths I just don't feel female. I could almost describe it as a very oppressed feeling. I wouldn't feel hurt if they don't initially see through the mens cloths during the meeting. I do think that it would be interesting to see the reactions on day one of the real life experience. Especially if I use a more femine resonance with my already gender neutral voice pitch. :D
