Ok, I Get It Now About Now Turning Back Once You Start

I've read about TSs who start HRT and then stop getting more depressed than prior to starting and I never got it.

Now I know and why HRT is a big step not that I thought it wasn't before.

I've gone my whole life getting erections when and where I didn't want them and then getting mildly annoyed/depressed about it. In the morning it was like a stupid turkey thermometer. That had all stopped a little over two weeks ago thanks to the t blockers. I had no idea how happy this would make me feel. When I think about it, I just smile.

But then a few nights ago I was laying next to my wife thinking how much I love her and how attracted to her I was. The rumors of 'it's' demise have been exaggerated as I started to feel the annoying stiring. I don't think it got that big at all but there was movement and it prob bothered me more than most have in my life because I stopped just taking them for granted. I'm supposed to get my dosages upped this week (knock on wood) so hopefully it'll stay down next time.

And then last night OMG I have been just tucking before bed just cause it makes me fall asleep easier...and that's getting so much easier every day too. And this morning I woke up still 100% tucked and I move around a lot so that was cool. And that was just 1 pair of regular stock panties.

If I got yanked off the hormones now after these changes and all the little ones that follow and then I have to go back I think it will be devistating.

I totally agree....

I do understand how these non-voluntary things can totally upset us...

And most of us are overjoyed to be rid of them...

Afterall, most of us don't want them at all....

Just a terrible reminder of what we're trying to leave behind...

I agree with you, Kimberly, about the joy and satisfaction of not feeling those feelings down there.

It has become a very rare event for me as well.

One thing to warn you about, if you haven't experienced it already, is the guilt you might feel from time to time over not being able to satisfy you're wife's needs. Eventually, she will likely remind you of that, and you need to be mentally prepared for it. It all depends on how important sexual relations were to your marriage before starting to transition.

There are few gains for us TS that don't come with a loss of some kind. It's never easy...

Sometimes I wonder why my wife is still with me.

But the bedroom's prob one issue that I won't feel guilt/pressure over from her.

I think we've gotten closer that way. She knows my eyes aren't closed because of her body but mine, and she's not doing anything wrong that's making me 'not perform'. Just thinking about my body does that so it was a constant up down. Her self-esteem has taken a huge boost.

I can honestly say that mentally/emotionally baby making was among the most difficult things for me in my life and I couldn't do it again. Thank goodness for modern science where we could time the last one to one take. I told her point blank when I came out to her that type of relations are over but we can do a other stuff & I still love her and I'm attracted to her.

Now lines have been drawn and we are both trying to make the other happy which should be the purpose anyway. I'm just honest with her about what feels good and what bothers me instead of just saying I'm tired always.

I was saving this until others could reply. My therapist and my wife's therapist got together. They suggested sex aids - read that as 'toys' - which is a misnomer. They work and they are not about playing at all. It prolonged my relationship with my wife for a year and a half before other problems caused us to separate. This method of sexual interaction is highly recommended - and your wife will be satified as soon as she accepts this as a viable and lovingly offered substitute. If you follow that option... you will both laugh about it later.

Coincidentally my wife showed me something the morning we left on vacation. It's along these lines. It told me she has zero doubt I'm 100% serious and certain things are now off limits and won't push the issue. And She is totally OK with space aged polymers or whatever its made of, and is trying to work around it.
