.

Are you serious?

You look amazing!

You remind me of someone...dang, I can't think of his name right now...a male actor...

But, OH MY!

Look great!

And, I've been meaning to ask you...is that you in the AV with the guitar?

Looking good!

Hey Calvin-you look really great!

It is always a relief when someone asks how they pass to see someone who passes as well as you do. All good.

I like the pics too.

You look fantastic!

If I'd see you on the streets I'd think that you're a 15~16 y/old teenage kid. (I image you are around that age too, right?) :P

Nervous about this, but here goes...

Appearance wise, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. I had to do a double take and re-read your post. Consider yourself one lucky dog.

I don't know how good your voice is - but visually? Natal male, not a TMan - a real male.

Okay, I might get some slack for this, and I'm not attacking you Lizzy and I am willing to bet you didn't mean this the way it sounded. But am I the only one who gets offended when someone says something like this? Like being a trans-guy is not a "real male" ? :-/ I've seen comments like this on more than one occasion and it just irks me when I do. I see being trans as having a birth defect, so to me it's similar to telling a guy who was born without a leg that he "looks like a real male" when he has a prosthetic leg attached, etc. As if missing that leg somehow makes him less of a man. :-/

Don't mean to thread hijack, 'n yes Calvin you definitely do look good in your pics, the hairstyle you've got seems to match you and you look masculine (I believe you had asked about haircuts previously too right?) ... You remind me of Liev Schrieber I believe the actor's name is...

Appearances are maybe 20% of the desired goal. 80% is straight up socialization. Comparisons to natal whatever is expected and understandable. It doesn't matter what you look like or how you feel and think when society judges you based on what comes out of your mouth and how you present your self. I'd guess that most of us realize that the best that can ever be achieved will simply come off as an emulation, an ever present fear and source of distress.

I dunno about that... I've showed pics of transmen to my mom and she was like WOW, you'd never know they were ever born in female bodies!!" Cases in point: Loren Cameron, the dude from Coyote Grace, Jamison Green, Billy Tipton (lived his whole life as male with no T and even his ex-wives didn't know he was trans), and many others. Just look at Transbucket sometime and you'll see plenty of good-looking guys who don't look like an "emulation" of anything.

I don't plan to become an "emulation" of a man. I plan to make my body match my male self, and therefore everything I do, say, or wear will be what a man does, says, or wears.

Prepare for the beat down of your life, especially if you are young. Take the role models and stuff 'em in the trash. Don't delude your self, we see so much of that with the MTFs. I don't want to discourage you, but you've a rough, rocky road to plow though. Any feminine trait you have will be picked apart and you will be humiliated for it. A social boost for the other males looking to increase their stature. Yea some folks transitioned into manhood, i guarantee you it was hell in the process. I'm 30 years in and I look forward to death.

Whoah... that one hit me like a punch in the gut. That's a pretty negative take on the whole thing.

I'm actually much older than I look (early thirties). I know a bunch of transguys who are happy and love their new lives. I know it's not easy, but neither is my current life (been getting threatened, harassed, thrown out of women's bathrooms since I was 10 years old). I refuse to concede myself to a life of hell and torture. I know dudes can be rough on each other, but I have a HUGE support network including my family and friends and my best friend of 16 years who is a happy, healthy, successful transman with a top-notch career ahead of him, a wife, and two lovely daughters. I'm prepared for the "hey shorty" comments and other such male harassment; in a way, I've been dealing with it my whole life since I've been passing as male for maybe 75% of my life, at least in public. I spent 7 years in successful practice as an attorney - never once got harassed about my appearance.

I know there will be trials and tribulations, but I refuse to accept that the road to transition is ALWAYS the road to misery and death. Sorry.

Also - I just have to add this - you have no idea what kinds of "beat-downs" I've had in my life. I kind of resent the implication that transitioning will be the biggest beat-down. I've survived regular beat-downs as a child; beat-downs at the hands of addiction; beat-downs from the ghosts of PTSD that still haunt me. I refuse to give up, I strive towards health every day, and I am as happy as I've ever been.

You look more like a man than I ever did, and I was only called ma'am when I had really long hair. If this is you pre-T, you're going to look quite ruggedly handsome after you start.

You want what I wish I never had to deal with. Straight cis-gendered guys go through the socialization process scarred for life... You didn't grow up socialized this. I empathize with your past experiences, you're going for another round. Sucks doesn;t it? Trans dudes have a ton of latitude when it comes to expression. My girlfriend can wear my stuff, no problems, inverse, problems.

I don;t know why I write this. You know what the deal is. It's so screwed up, just look at all these hyper feminine MTF types. Talk about shooting over the moon... I've had to suffer the male socialization process, I don't even know who I am. I've had the core of my personality systematically stripped from me.

Bathroom usage law based on chromosomes is quite irrational. Just within the intersex community there are quite a few problems with it with those that have full or partial androgen insensitivity. For instance, I have XY chromosomes but also have a uterus and fallopian tubes. My breasts are real and I have had them since puberty. I was also born without a penis to speak of, but I do have testes.    I don't look like the average guy, and much less now that I don't hide my DDD's behind baggy layered clothes.    Physically I am much more female than male, but my birth certificate and chromosomes say something else.    I most definitely don't fit in the men's room. Last time I tried everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at me until I left. I have used the family restroom in public ever since (all gender). The Texas law basically leaves only one choice for intersex individuals. Family restroom or pee your pants. 🙄

I had a similar experience.  My father, doing geneological research, googled the name of the tiny hamlet in Scotland where his family came from.  He was surprised to find a request from someone in Australia wanting to find his birth mother.  The mother was named as my father's sister, from that same tiny hamlet.  There was no possibility of mistaken identity: there could not be two people of that name in such a small place.   The family knew that my aunt had had a child out of wedlock, but no one had kept track of the child.  And of course, the times being what they were, knowledge of the event was kept on a need-to-know basis.    My father contacted the person in Australia.  He gained a nephew and I gained a cousin that I never knew I had.  We kept in touch until my cousin passed away a few years ago.  I am still in occasional contact with his widow.

I can relate to that, I started my oral estrogen back in 2017.. less than 6 months I was wearing jeans size 40, then afterward my hips started to curve so I can fit a jeans size 12 or 14.. my treating doctors suggested for me to take before and after pictures and show it to them during my next doctor's appointment.

Good morning from the backyard patio,   Parker and I are outside enjoying the morning sounds of the day. It’s was filled with the beautiful sounds of birds, bugs and kids off at a distant playground. My coffee was hot, strong and black. This came crashing down as the Monday morning trash truck came into the neighborhood. We’re the first neighborhood for the trash route since a city ordinance keeps all commercial workers limited to a 07:00 start time. It was Parker’s first time experiencing this noise and physical vibrations as the operator slammed the articulated arm around picking up individual trash bins. Parker ran from the fence back to the patio swing looking back at the monstrous truck causing such a commotion. His head tilted, ears perked, and body language indicating curiosity.    My second cup of coffee is settling down as the birds return to singing their calls, and Parker ravages his toy rabbit.    Hugs and best wishes as you take on the week. Happy Monday!   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Good morning @Adrianna Danielle   I’m glad you agreed to the paternity test.    My Uncle found himself in a similar situation and after the test he was faced with explaining his infidelity and one night stand to his wife and family. Not only did the test come back; “YOU ARE THE FATHER” she looked like a sister to the other children in his family. This was a “23 & Me” moment confirmed by an independent test. The most important reason for the young lady to search for her father, was medical history and peace of mind. The blessing of the test was her understanding and willingness to disappear into obscurity. That was not what my Uncle or his family wanted to happen. She was family and they wanted to know her and eventually love her as a family member. The next 4th of July family gathering, she was introduced to the rest of her extended family and I gained a cousin. My prayers for you as you navigate all the possibilities, and I hope it works out for everyone involved.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Well I’m short on time again!   I had to move to the couch around 3:15 this morning. Unfortunately my wife’s med vac was making a lot of noise which woke me up and I couldn’t sleep. Then I over slept because my alarm wasn’t set correctly, my fault.    @Mirrabooka Hobart is a beautiful city and Tasmania is a wonderful place to visit. I was there several times in the 80s.    @Birdie Texas isn’t the only state with such laws.  Don’t try going to a public bathroom in Florida either. Now there laws aren’t based on chromosomes or anything like that but it’s a birth certificate as far as I know.  That Texas law is a tough one, really anti transgender in all respects. Except!  What if you have an extra chromosome?  Or DNA that’s flipped?  Did they think of that situation?  Medical theory suggests that is the case when it come to Transgender people, but especially the young ones.  Also, IQ, that tends to be higher than average.  There are a lot of things about us the medical science is studying, not just psychology.   got to go   Willow
