How Well Do You Think I Pass Pre-T

You want what I wish I never had to deal with. Straight cis-gendered guys go through the socialization process scarred for life... You didn't grow up socialized this. I empathize with your past experiences, you're going for another round. Sucks doesn;t it? Trans dudes have a ton of latitude when it comes to expression. My girlfriend can wear my stuff, no problems, inverse, problems.

I don;t know why I write this. You know what the deal is. It's so screwed up, just look at all these hyper feminine MTF types. Talk about shooting over the moon... I've had to suffer the male socialization process, I don't even know who I am. I've had the core of my personality systematically stripped from me.

abbxrdy,

I hope you can go get the help you need, because it sounds like you really need to talk to a trained professional.

Most straight cis-gendered guys do not find socialization "scarred them for life." They are socialized to be men and they live as men and this doesn't BOTHER them. Yes, this can be very painful for MTFs, but that's the point - they are not cis-gendered guys or whatever phrase people like to use.

Beyond that, transitioning is not a competition. FTMs have certain challenges, MTFs have others. No one gains anything by putting one another down or delegitimizing anyone else's struggles. I don't speak with any authority for this website, but as an FTM dude, I really don't appreciate someone posting in the FTM forum telling Calvin both what kind of a beat-down he's in store for in one breath and then in another breath saying how easy transmen have it because of society's gender constructs. I think it's inappropriate, and I really hope you go get some help, because clearly you are suffering and lashing out at others as a result.

I;m sorry but I don't need the lecture. I've lived as a male for 30 years and I don't think you understand the subtly that goes along with it. Male culture is a rough place and not every guy comes out unscathed. Me, i'm something different, yea, I do need some serious help, can't afford it. It's amazing i'm still alive. I'm not beating down on an FTM, i'm just relaying my life experience. Got tons of love for the trans guys, hell, they actually let us know how they feel. Not surprising given the amount of latitude they have regarding outward expression.

I have to agree here with what Shawn said. My own personal opinion here y'all, but we already go through hell bein trans and everyone's transition is gonna pose its different challenges. Honestly, the comment that was made, made me pretty mad because who is to tell anyone what kinda beat down they can expect. especially from one transperson to another. transition is hell for everyone. we all have to experience the bull.... that comes with it, and although we might share some of the same experiences, its gonna be different for all of us.

I'm not tryin to start nothin here, but like Shawn, i felt it was inappropriate.

The age thing applies to both of them, and I say this as someone in my own mid 70's. As for being "businessmen," I don't consider the government to be a business.  That might be part of our problem now.  But this might not be the place to open that can of worms. I would like to be able to keep my personal freedom to live as myself, and the social security that I worked most of my life for.

Although the right to care has been affirmed, I still find it disheartening that so many of the treatments that are available and beneficial to someone who is trans, is consequently barred by insurance companies who claim that anything beyond HRT and vaginoplasty, are cosmetic. I believe that any procedure that can help to make one passable as their desired gender, has the potential to be lifesaving. Is being able to just blend in as our desired gender so abhorrent to the insurance companies?    I also believe that the transgender communities are taken advantage of in many ways. Look at the number of healthcare providers who will provide care, but want up front payment, which in many cases, is way above what an insurance company will pay. It is very expensive paying out of pocket, yet many of us become so desperate to transition that we just pony up the money.

The only thing good about Trump, he's a businessman, but as for leadership to be the president of the entire   United States.. ahh nope lol, there's no telling how many secrets he blabbed to foreign countries when he was in office, anyway he's too old to be in office.

I hope to be able to drop in on tonight's Zoom. If I can, you'll see me wearing this band-collar floral popover with jeans and these slip-on sneakers.

Oh, my! It seems as if I have been gone for so long. And, interacting with you all has been such an important part of gaining an understanding of who I am this past year.    My wife’s mother passed away this week. She was in her late 90s but has been in relative good health. Until the past month. We brought in hospice last week when she began to sleep most of the day and began to become restless and uncomfortable. She passed in her sleep on Monday.   As you might imagine, it’s been a whirlwind of coordinating burial arrangements with family, the unreal home, the church and the venue for a lunch after mass.   We have a place here on our property where we place the ashes of family members so we will place her alongside her husband next Saturday.   Of course, our new puppy adds to the strain of time. She is a joy but also a typical Lab with lots of energy. She’s 11 weeks old and already 21 pounds.    I will I’ll find my way back here more as things settle down.   I miss you all!
