Stuck In A Dress...

.

In town today I bought my first dress...OMG! I LOVE IT!

It's a Green and black striped jacket with a white blouse underneath and a black skirt (shorter than any skirt I have) Thing is, it's all one piece, even though it looks like separates....

It has a zipper in the back that goes from the waist..up to the neck....cool..

Well, a while back I mentioned to my good friend JJ that I did not like back zippers because they're so difficult to do the zipper...

He told me to loop a piece of string though it to pull the zipper up and then just slip the string out..

Thanks, JJ...works like a charm!

Problem is that I forgot how he said to get it back down, so I'm sitting here typing this in the dress...DANG!

My wife left for a while, so I'm stuck.

Help.

ROFL!

Donna Jean, whatever are we to do with you??

Have you tried putting the curved end of a hanger through the zipper handle?

I use to be able to contort my body and arms to get those back zippers up and down. But now my body just doesn't want to turn and twist like it use to. So I too get stuck in those type of dresses. But that is okay, I love dresses. And fortunately my wife doesn't drive or go anywhere without me, so I have and automatic zipper slider whenever I need one...LOL..Huggsss

This happened to me once. But I was like 12. And it wasn't my dress. Oh and my mom came home. Luckily I was upstairs and kinda ripped it a little and then tossed it a few days later. Actually this is nothing like your story. Never mind.

There are worse things, I wouldn't mind being stuck in a dress for a while. Anyway you said JJ told you right, you mean the JJ here? I saw him post somethings so he's around, if not I'm sure your wife will be back soon enough.

Oh dee Jay! Well you put your hand behind your neck and pull the top of the zipper up and stick that string through tat little hole again with a good enough loop not to come out. Then let it drop and reach around to the bottom of te string and pull.

Alternately yelling "HELP" in the right circumstances has been known to work.biggrin.gif

Sounds like a really cute dress!

Love You

I'll not yell "HELP!" around here...

A kind and caring FtM can REALLY help to get one out of a wardrobe jam, although he might see some humor in your predicament.

LOL...holy crap hun.

That just made my day, and made me think of hilarious memories.

I helped a friend of mine pick out some skirts once, and he put one on wrong and got stuck in it, had to actually walk OUT of the dressing room to find me and wandered around Burlington Coat Factory for almost 5 minutes with a skirt on wrong yelling "NICK, HALP!"

Oh, yeah, brings back some memories. I got stuck in a dress once, the zipper snagged on the material and the dress was fairly tight. I don't think even a contortionist could have figured out that one. I was alone for several days, so over a long period of time, I slowly worked the zipper a little up (like one notch), then down. Eventually I got it off but after about the first two hours, I was getting just a little nervous.

What we women will do to look pretty. I hope the dress looks good on you Dee Jay. I only have one dress that I can fit into that doesn't make me look like too much weight in the mid-section.

Also why is it that a dress is the hardest piece of clothing for a woman to put on and take off. I remember the first time I tried on a dress, I gave up on my first try and had to analyze the dress for awhile and develop a plan on how to put it on.

Beautiful dress for a beautiful lady!

I don't know if I will ever buy a dress with a zipper in the back just for this reason only. I am glad you got out of the dress Dee Jay. Next time you will know the trick to get in and out.

Oh good grief!

I go to a short day at work - only nine and a half hours and I come back to find my best friend has been held captive in a terrorist dress.

Then she escaped and now right back into it - Holy Stockholm Syndrome.

Sweetheart - once you escape you are supposed to run away not go back in!

But it does look great and so do you!

I will keep the jaws of life handy in case you have any more trouble.

Oh Dee Jay-I'll be happy to ride to your rescue any time! :D

You look fantastic in that dress!!

They sell zipper pulls but it's easy to make a pretty one of your own with a small hook -even a filled down fish hook -and ribbon braided on it or threaded through for the string.

Love you

JJ
