I Few Hrt Questions.

Ok im gonna be starting hrt sorta soon. In around 3 months ide say. I must stay with my current job till the end of march at least. I wants my profit sharing. So im probably just gonna do spiro till.....thats the question. How much does the process speed up once estrogen is included? I know ymmv, but i'm just kinda looking for a guesstimate here. Im probably starting college in january. As you can see, im kinda putting all this into 1 timeframe-beginning of next yr-. So what im saying is, is that i got to be on top my game to keep this job i have till then. Plus the added cash will help with electro and etc. etc. So how is the mental effects of adding estro to spiro? I can't be too umm, unstable at work cause they will most likely fire me. (haha).

At the moment im kinda doin all i can do to feel as comfortable as i can as still put up with the hatemongers. Im honestly just hoping i have enough motivation left to keep goin to this job. But regardless of that (im rambling) I just wanted to know the mental effects of everything.

I know it shouldn't bother me but like i said i think i deserve my cash for putting up with them, and it really would help. I just don't wanna be a mess for a month or so if i make the wrong decision here.

My job requires a lot of quick thinking and mental alertness. Short term memory is a big thing. Any insight or past experiences would greatly help me out. Worse come to worse though, Im choosing Hrt. Im a hard worker and I'm positive i could find another job, maybe just a bit less pay.

Well, I know that you want something to hang your hat on....

So, I'm 20 months HRT.... both Spiro and estrogen...and I only just came out at work a couple of weeks ago...So, just short of 2 years...It's doable if you hide things and make excuses....

Hormones affect everyone differently and at different speeds, so it will be hard to say what changes you will have. However there shouldn't be that many changes, at least physically, after you start.

I would recommend starting both at the same time, the estrogen and spiro together will give you a calm state of being that you'll have had in your life. I don't know of any reason to start sprio first unless you want to be chemically castrated before you start estrogen. The other ladies may be able to give you more insight.

I'll agree with Charlene. If you can start E, start it with the Spiro. As far as effects, you're not going to become a raving lunatic of emotional wreckage. You'll be fine, better than fine, really. It's a good thing.

Hon, all I can go by is my experience. Aside from being more prone to tears and moody, I didn't notice any mental changes, certainly nothing having to do with memory or reasoning ability. Others here have reported improved mental processes.

Physically, I have been on E for 8 months and T-blockers for about 4, and I don't have any problem hiding things with a dress shirt on. Some tighter knit shirts show a little, but people probably just take them for moobs if they notice at all.

I've posted all of this in different places. I'm on t-blockers for a few reasons. Prostate issues-want to concentrate more on that. Getting a jump start on the spiro working on body hair. The chemical castration thank you very much.

These last few weeks I have been becoming increasingly emotional and less able to focus. It started when I'd cry at work by myself. Then I started crying a little at work when other people were there and I'd have to quickly leave the area. Then I'd cry while watching a movie that was so predictable that I knew exactly how the couple was going to get together and then they got together and I was so happy for them. Then I started crying because I don't know why I'm crying all the time. And my highs and lows seem like they can change on a dime. I can be really upset and then a few minutes later think about something someone said, and walk into a room with a big smile on my face and I honestly don't know why. My wife is always asking me these days whats so funny cause I never used to smile that much. And I just tell her I really don't know.

You'll be fine but there really is no reason not to take E with spiro. Doesn't taking spiro alone cause bone loss or something? Or maybe I imagined that...

No loss of mental ability. I got an A in calc 2 while on HRT and functioned well in my computer-y job.

But yeah... I wasn't out to the person I was living with for 5 months on spiro and E and they never suspected anything.

Don't take any hallucinogens, though, or get drunk around people who don't know or you might out yourself... trust me your body will react to both VERY differently

I've noticed changes. Emotionally it probably isn't related to the hormones except for the calming feeling. Physically even a sports bra and a loose shirt can't hide the fact that I have boobs. I've found if I have my hair up I look very feminine and doubt I could pass for male if I tried.

I have been on E and spiro for 11 months and have not had any problems holding my job. I work as a assistant manager at a gas station and have to be in top condition to handle alot of it and if anything my mental processes have gotten better and faster in my book. Like the others have said above you will be alot calmer as well and not as quick to get mad easyly(or at least for me that happened). I had the same question when I started and had Angie around to ask alot of questions to, lol. Yes, went through if I would be able to handle my job still since only 1 person works per shift and alot of customers so I was worried about my mental state and emotional state as well but both turned out ok and if anything are alot better now. Never had any problems at all decision wise or thinking wise through the whole process.

I eventually came out at my job due to not being able to hide them anymore and all but most of my female relatives and my mom are big chested though so you may be able to hide them for a while depending on your family history. Hope everything goes smoothly for you without any problems.

Whew thats a relief. My biggest fear was goin to a job I hate and gettin so worked up that i cry most the day. lol

I surely didn't want everyone thinking i'm an emotional trainwreck. Of course can't be much worse than the emotional state im in most the time just from all the frustration of having to not be me.
