hey, everyone! i decided to just do a little, quick post on whats been going on with me and how things are changing...quickly yet excitedly :]

ive come out to a few more family members and a friend. the responses were accepting and supportive...so really amazing! just about a few more to tell and then im pretty set. i honestly feel sooo blessed and im so so soo thankful!

the last time i saw my therapist was two years ago but i had to stop because i, alone, couldnt afford to go as much as i needed to. but ive recently got in contact with her again and im seeing her this wednesday. and only for ten dollars. amazing! not only that, but i plan to do community work and look for job opportunities within the area (its the lgbt community of chicago basically)

im also getting my hair done! my sister's friend said she would do it for me so ill now have new hair. its going to be hair pieces sewn into my natural hair (it sounds painful but i know itll be worth it) and im getting this done because my hair grows all funny and weird so ill just do this for the time being. im thinking wavy and up to my chest area? but we'll seee!

im also going to do my transition in reverse - meaning live my life as a girl before getting the hormones. i think its usually done hormones and then real life but im doing the opposite. i thought about it and im good with the idea. i mean, i already pass as it is without hormones and mostly everyone i surround myself with knows and supports me in what i do. so why continue living my life as a boy and continue waiting to be me? but im still very impatient about getting hormones!

i think thats really all thats new with meee. so any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. thank youuu :]

Wow, lots of great stuff happening for you, Audrey. Congrats, girl!

You're right, its unusual to do RLE before getting hormones, but certainly not without precedent. Joanna Phipps did the same thing, although she didn't have a choice. It sounds like you have great confidence, and that counts for an awful lot.

I wish you all the best. Keep us posted, OK?

Ok....they aren't going to be sewn into your scalp, are they? OMG!

But, Audry...you have a lot going on and it's all good stuff...

So happy to hear it!

I think that's wonderful Audrey. I've gone out quite a bit as a female in RLE. You learn a lot this way. Although I can't go out full time per se, mainly because I have to present as male at work. Although in some ways I am close to full time. 95% of my clothes now are woman's clothes. I have a section for androgynous female clothes I need for work.

And congratulations on the support you find with family and friends. That means a lot. All I can say is enjoy your life sister and be yourself.

Love Jenny

Hi Audrey,

Sounds like you have a plan that should work for you.

DeeJay, maybe she means a hair weave. Extensions are sewn to hair that has been tightly braided at the scalp. I've known a number of young women that have had that done. It lasts with care for several months (possibly longer). The other choice is extensions which are glued or bonded to base of the hair.

Keep us updated with your progress!

Sweet Audrey Michelle,

What wonderful news! If you can live as the girl you truly are, why wait? You are very lucky to be able to do so.

Keep us posted on your progress. You're a ray of sunshine around here and we all need some of that.

Hugs of support,

Becky

Spill girlfriend! I've been waiting for hours. What did you think? Did you go femme? How was your session?

Kim

all was good! i presented myself as female and the only looks i got were from gay guys and then another transsexual (she eyed me up and down with such attitude, haha. she was just very rude in the building by yelling at everyone so i just rolled my eyes mentally and continued doing me, regardless of her stand offish presence) but anyways! i met with my therapist who i havent seen in like two years, caught her up, and now i have to get insurance to get my bloodwork and stuff done and then hormones!

everything went really well. i mean, i wanted to just be like "kk, give me the hormones now, please" but i guess im okay seeing as how im able to go out as female just finee

.

Well, that was a great report, Honey!

Now you can get your process going to get your HRT! Good on you....

And don't pay any attention to the rude ones....They come in every type, color, size and species!

HUGGS!

Was it a worker? I've always been treated nice but I could see the one woman there getting loud. Either way she was just jealous.

Kim

It was a client. She was just very defensive and outcasted herself while being rude, loud, and a diva

But I looooove the workers. The one girl with the music note tattooed on her hand is my favorite! I was considering some of those groups/meetings

Audrey, you have a wonderful attitude, and as long as you are able to go out as female that should work towards getting hormones sooner, rather than later.
