Ive been wondering around these boards for a while now;

But im still very confused whether im trans or not.

just wondered if you guys could help me a bit on what you think by what i tell you;

Ive always been boyish, my twin sister used to buy dresses when we were little and i would buy jeans and shirts, i used to play with cars and hated dresses etc. When i was little i used to wear my pj shorts under my jeans coz i thought they were like boxers. I used to try and stand up to pee coz thats what i thought i was ment to do.

I brought a binder a while ago coz i just hate the mounds on my chest. I always have felt like i was in the wrong body, like im trapped in the wrong body and should be in a different one.

basically do you guys think that i could be trans. I know its not a broad picture of me but just things i thought were important, I belive there is definately something not 100% right about me. But how can i be sure if i am trans that i am?

cheers guys

That's a hard question and one that I am dealing with myself right now. I'm not sure how you can be 100% certain you are trans. A good start is to try and find a therapist who is knowledgeable about gender issues. That's what I'm doing now.

I know what you mean about the chest mounds. I hate mine too.

Nobody can tell you if you are trans or not but you. (And qualified gender therapists.) Non-qualified people like us don't like to give advice on if you should transition or not. That part is up to you. If a non-qualified person tells you that you're trans, and you believe it based on their idea, what if you transition and regret it? It makes the person who diagnosed you responsible for your misery and irreversible changes.

That being said, I do think you're possibly trans. Cisgender girls don't normally buy binders. (Unless they're cosplaying or dressing as a male character for halloween.) Your body self loathing issues and daily binding sound like very strong gender dysphoria issues. Your childhood issues are also extremely strong signs.

Take your time, examine your innermost feelings, and watch/read every trans resource you can get your hands on. It's a journey, not a race. If you find that transition is really the only way you'll be able to function and be happy with life, then find a gender therapist and work from there. Transition because it's what YOU want to do; not because of what someone else told you that you are.

well no one except a gender therapist or some sort could diagnose you and tell you if you are trans or not. but to me in my opinion, you could possibly be one, because i feel the same way you have everyday of my life and i consider myself trans. i don't like labels much. but i know that i'm proud to be trans and be in support for other trans people as well. i say with your clues you are one but i could be wrong. maybe its a phase but i highly doubt it. again its my opinion.

Those behaviors seem to be indicative of transsexuality, the ones unrelated to stereotypes drawing my attention the most. However, only you can decide can figure this out. Not us. Not even a gender therapist. You.

Sounds like being transgendered is a possibility, based on what you've said. But a good therapist will be invaluable in sorting out your feelings and helping you make an accurate diagnosis of gender identity disorder or not.

Good luck! And we're here if you need us.

talking to us helps...or it helped me. a lot.

read around the forums and try to figure out if some of your own feelings mirror those you read.

check a couple of books out of the library.

start journaling, or if you have past journals, read them and see whats been going on in your head that you may have forgotten about.

loads of stuff you can do to try to figure yourself out.

counselors and therapists are masterminds at getting you to think about things in a different way - so see one (like so many have said) will help too...if you can.

if you cant get a counselor/therapist then talking to close friends (even if its not EXACTLY about the transgender issue) can help.

just a few ideas...

and like the guys have been sayin - we're here for you.

I don't understand the need to label yourself as anything. Why do you have to be called trans at all? You can be whatever you want.

      My kitty has a litter box, which she uses on occasion.  But she prefers to make me get up to led her out. I could install a "cat door" but I'm afraid it would be used more by the possums and raccoons.  I have had possums in the house more than once - even without one.

      Good morning everyone,   It was our first night with our European Boxer and it went well. We got up at 05:30 let him out of the cage and went directly outside to give him a chance to go potty. It has been raining for two days and nights so the grass is soaked and nearly up to his belly. I don’t think he’s ever been outside while it’s raining or wet. I had my rain jacket on and a big brimmed hat as well as rain boots, he just stayed at my feet no matter where we went in the yard. I took him to the previous locations where out daughter’s dog had gone poo, but he just sat at my feet. Once inside and drying him off with a towel. He took a poo right there. So I gathered up his mess, and took him and his poo outside. So right now it’s dog one, trainer zero. Now that the coffee is brewed and I have a cup, he’s chewing on a toy.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

      Strange that I awoke from a dream dreaming about "being able to pee standing up!"   I know that sounds strange from someone AMAB, but intersex issues have always prevented that.    I wonder what made me dream like that? That was a first! 🤔

      Morning y'all.    Nearly winter here, but it's a mild climate compared to what most of you experience. Even so, the best way to describe the mornings lately is...nipply! 😁

      What I don’t like about the dealer working on my car, yes the put the paper mats on the floor, but why don’t they remove them when they bring my car to me?  And why do they always mess with my radio settings and my electronic dashboard settings?  I get them the way I want them and they seem to want them at factory default.  Leave things like you find them!  Why is that so difficult?  And don’t tell me it’s because the updated the computer! Every time!.  And no I haven’t figured out everything yet on the new car.  I can’t even get my key programmed to move my seat when I get in and out.  It’s supposed to move the seat, the mirrors, the steering wheel and several other things.  My old Eddie Bauer was easy to program but then it only programmed seat location and pedal location.   ok now that we’ve had our rousing knock on cars and dealer mechanics.  What else shall we talk about?  Bras?  Seems like an appropriate subject for most of us.  I have several different types. Two are famous store push-up padded to are more common everyday lightly padded ant one is a no padding no strap slip and the last one is a front close longline no padding.  Now that one supports the theory that I am now a B cup on my own. I’d prefer a C but then I’m not so sure my blouses would still fit without pulling.  Ah the problem we have as women.  And sizes are never ever the same.  Oh I’m a size ??  But men I need a large shirt and 36-30 pants and they always fit.   we can’t buy anything off the rack with confidence it will fit and I hate having to take it home to try one and return what doesn’t fit.   we’ll time to do my hair and leave.   love ya   Willow
