Letter to My Parents

How often must you tell me

I’m too young to know my mind?

Each time I try to make you see

You act deaf and dumb and blind.

You only want me to pretend

That life is not a living Hell;

I struggle till I’m at wits end

To live inside this horrid shell.

Can you not feel my misery?

Can you not see my deep despair?

My true gender isn’t what you see

A different person lives in here.

Every day my body grows

In ways that drive me mad.

If only someone else could know

What has made my soul so sad.

How can I make you understand

That what I need to make me whole,

Is just your love and helping hands

To help me reach my longed-for goal?

That I am still your loving child

You simply will not see.

You think by changing I defile

The life you gave to me.

I did not choose this path to walk,

No fault is it of yours.

What we need most is just to talk,

Not hide behind closed doors.

Dear parents please forsake me not,

Give your true love to me,

My gender I do seek to change,

But your child I shall always be.

OMG!

OK I dont know what else to say but dang! normaly I only read poes but thats up there with him. Minus the walled cat, and the pendulum, and the aw you know what im talken about with pudding cups (-bill cosby)

It kept my attention, normaly If i dont like a book slightly I will rip the page when im done, that way I dont never re read a part again, and it serves as a book marker! But I would've framedd that woot woot.
