Coming Out Should Be Easy

Like 9 people know I'm transgendered and I've only come out to 2 people (mom and sister). My mom told about 4 people and the rest just seem to guess. My aunt and uncle came for a visit this weekend and my mom went to get something from the kitchen and my aunt just right out asked me if i was having gender identity issues I'm just like how does she know because my mom didn't tell her. Then I went to help my moms friend fix up her house out by a lake near by and she asked me if I was trangender. And I went to my "friends" house today and his mom asked if I was having gender issues I'm not acting any different then I have before I came out. It's not like all the sudden I started acting masculine and wearing guys close because I've always done that. I've only gotten my hair cut short but it's been like that since last summer. Since I came out people have just been like reading my mind or something it's really weird.

People would NEVER guess I'm trans, so my opinion is is you're lucky.

Dude! People straight up asking if youre trans? That's...pretty cool actually. No awkward "ive got something to tell you" moments goin on is a PLUS in my book. At least if they ask, then you know theyre cool with it -- or at least they know a little about what's goin on with you. Either way it seems like it could be a good thing, man.

...I kinda wish people would ask ME. I think there are just too many butch chicks runnin around my city though.. makes it hard for a guy like me.

That's how it was for me when I lived in San Fransisco. Sometimes an abundance of butch lesbians can really screw with your chances of passing. Draik, you're lucky. Coming out won't be so awkward.

I plan on coming out to my peers but not my parents (great, a double life) and I wish it would be that easy.

I have really terrible anxiety problems so I'm scared to death of coming out, but I'm going to do it anyway (if I can!) because of my overwhelming hate for this female body I am trapped in. :| I just hope I'll be able to handle it.

Hey man. Welcome to the forums. Reading your post reminded me a lot of myself, so I felt like I should comment. I kind of lead a double life (out to a bunch of peers, not to my folks), and I have anxiety issues as well (social anxiety disorder). Coming out is scary, especially with anxiety, but it's worth it. You can handle it; just take it at your own pace (mine was/is pretty slow) and start with people who you know will be accepting. And we'll always be here for you if you ever need advice or anything.
