Hi CDs

I think my favorite Star Trek line would have to be "Beam me up, Scottie".

I'd like to hear some others, Please reply!

One of them has to be "My God Jim, you're a woman!" (or whatever it actually was) in the Turnabout Intruder episode!!

But one thing Eveanna, did anyone actually say "Beam me up, Scotty" in a TOS episode? Think it's one of those phrases that people picked on, but never actually used in the series. More often "One to beam up"

hi Eveanna,

i'm a big fan. i have all 7 seasons of the next generation so i have a few favorites just can't think of any right now. i know, a lot of people don't care for the next generation, i like the old star trek episodes too but am a bigger tng fan. i'm a big picard fan and i love the movie star trek generations where kirk and picard are together. i also have my favorite episodes. yesterdays enterprise is awesome as are cause and effect, and all of the Q episodes also data lore and datas day are among my more watched episodes. back to your question. my favorite line? i'll have to get back to you on that one. i'm so tired right now my mind is drawing a blank.

My favorite line would have to be "If the continuum has told you once, they've told you 1000 times, DON'T ANTAGONIZE THE BORG!". I think the line is from Q2 from ST:Voyager.

I'm a big ST:TNG fan myself. I don't even know if I have a favorite episode because I love them all. However, I kind of get annoyed by the ones that follow Lieutenant Barclay.

Must admit, I do like the episodes/films that feature the Borg, they have some of the best lines going!

"WE ARE THE BORG! RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!" being the best.

Barclay? Dire character but being of a certain age, all I can see when he comes on is Howlin' Mad Murdock, what a case of mis-casting on the part of ST:TNG there.

"He just kept talking in one long, incredibly unbroken sentence, moving from topic to topic so that no one had a chance to interrupt him, it was really quite hypnotic..."

...Somehow I know that word-for-word even though I've never watched Star Trek in my life.

I guess I still prefer the original cast, and especially in the movies. One of my favorites is when Bones needs a ship to get him to the Genesis planet because Spock has deposited his consciousness into Bones brain. The captain says he will need "many permits" to get into that sector to which Bones replies

"There aren't gonna be any damned permits! How can you get a permit to do a damned illegal thing?"

And of course from the show there is always the "I'm a doctor, not a _______" lines you could always count on!

I just remembered some other Star Trek quotes that I like. Seven of Nine is one of my favorite characters.

This one is from an episode where she gets drunk. I think it is funnier if you see it rather than read it though:

Seven - "You have always been of enormous assistance to me doctor. You are my mentor."

Doctor - "Yes!"

Seven - "We are as one. We are as one."

This one is also good:

Seven - "Chance is irrelevant. We will succeed."

Doctor - "A vote of borg confidence. Who could argue with that?"

lol "He's Dead Jim" I've been quoting that for about a year and never knew where it came from, I'm such a dork. I don't watch the show, although my friends and mother do, which is probably how I picked up the line.

I love all the Star Trek series but think the best lines come from the orginal.

However i think a classic line doesn't come from any of the series but from the satirical song released back when...

We come in peace shoot to kill. :P

That about sums up the original series

I think some of my favorite lines came when Bones (first episode) and Scotty visited the enterprise in The Next generation

"Logical, I don't see no ears on you boy... you don't look like no vulcan" Bones to Data

"I am an android Sir."

"Almost as bad.

---

"Its ... Green." Scotty to Picard. then pours Picard the drink

though in the original series Scotty was always good for a laugh so was the Bones/ Spock feuds

It's a toss up between:

Lt. Cmdr. Data: In every way of course. I am programmed in multiple techniques. A broad variety of pleasuring.

and

Lt. Cmdr. Data: A human idiosyncrasy - triggered by a fascination with a particular set of facts. Or sometimes brought about by senility. Or used as a means of weighing information before reaching a conclusion. Or as a...

Yeh... "Star trekking" by The Firm.

It has lots of great lines in it...

"It's life Jim but not as we know it."

"It's worse than that he's dead Jim"

"Bridge to engine room, warp factor 9!"

The video is quite amusing too... and its a very catchy tune

"... always going forward, cos we cant find reverse!"

Engage....

In an episode will Kirk was on a planet being held by the locals with the might Starship Enterprise orbiting the planet with all of its weaponry and sensors disabled (as usual), the ship suddenly lurched and everyone one the bridge was tossed around (again, as usual).

McCoy, “What happened, Spock?’

Spock, “The occipital region of my head seems to have impacted with the arm of this chair.”

McCoy, “I meant to the ship.”

Spock, “Without sensors, that is impossible to ascertain with any degree of accuracy.”

McCoy, “Guess!”

And for favorite episodes, just pick one where Kirk talked a computer into pulling it’s own plug.

I think that one of my favorite lines.... and it was used alot on the original series as well.

"Gosh darned it Jim I'm a Doctor not a_____" the one that really sticks in my head was "Bricklayer" with the one where Spock mindmelded with a living rock called a Horta.

I watched pretty much most of the Star Treks that came out, most of the series' and I had all of the movies at one time, and of what I have seen the one line that strikes me the most is from "THe Voyage Home", I think it was, on Vulcan when Spock was being tested by the computer about all his knowledge.

The Computer asked "HOW DO YOU FEEL?" This struck me because I thought it was so cool that the question to a character on the show was being asked but I thought about it myself....

When someone asks you HOW DO YOU FEEL? Do you give them an honest anwer or do you give them a programmed one, deeper yet, do you really know how you feel??

Besides the thought provoking question, it just sounded cool the way it was asked in that it was an unfeeling machine that asked Spock about his feelings.

What do you think?

i think my favorite was from the original series "The Trouble With Tribbles" and it was when they had beamed the Tribbles to the Klingon ship and in responce to where they had beamed them they said " to the Klingon engine room where they will be no Tribble at all".

Or when Spock and the Capt. were confronted by bad guys in the passageway of the ship...

Spock said "Sir' there is a multi- legged creature on your shoulder" and when the bad guy looked over on his shoulder, Spock gave him the Vulcan Nerve Pinch!! Gotcha!!!

I have lots of favorite lines:

"Beam me up Scottie"

"It's life Jim, but not as we know it"

"My god man, 20th century medicine is barbaric!"

"Green blooded hobgoblin...!"

"Kirk to Enterprise"

"Make it so"

"Engage"

"It's gaining on us Captain"

Oh, gosh, there are dozens of great quotes. Here are some of mine that haven't been mentioned yet, some from the movies:

Spock: "What does it mean, 'exact change'?"

Spock: "The good of the many outweighs the good of the few, or the one."

Kirk: "Of all the souls I've met in my travels, Spock's was the most....human."

Bones: "Oh? Well, one good slug of this, and you could hit a man with phaser stun, and he'd never feel it, or even know it."

Scott: "Does it make a good mix with Scotch?"

Scott: "Aye. The haggis is in the fire for sure,"

"Live long and prosper, Spock." -- T'Pau

"I shall do neither. I have killed my captain, and my friend." -- Spock (Amok Time)

Actually, though I believe the original Star Trek was, far and away, the very best of the batch, I loved all of the subsequent shows and movies too. When all is said and done, I just have to say my favorite all-time Star Trek line is when Captain Jean-Luc Picard looks over to Will, does the patented hand gesture, gives him The Look and says:

"Number One, make it so!"

God, I love it so!

Peace  Lacey

Sup singly, a superintendent prevented a student within the transgender community from changing current name, to the new name in which the student identifies with, I don't know how far back this story goes, but if you Google it under Oklahoma along with "student name change" the article should pop up. I'm not transgender, but I can relate to the process of legally getting a name change done, it's a lot of paperwork from court, a lot of traveling, and expenses depending on the laws from each state.

Wow, I guess it’s the dat to be in trouble.  I’ve been hit twice by the ASM today and it’s my day off.  Why didn’t you, followed latter with a where is the.  Made me realize that I do t want to continue working long enough to pay for it. I guess I’ll just to have to stick with my 20 year old car for now.   I suppose sooner or later only one of us won’t be able to drive anymore.  Since I am older you might think it would be me but at this time i am the one that does all the driving except when she goes to church or the store when I’m at work.  She hasn’t driven anywhere since February and hasn’t driven more than 10 miles in perhaps a year.  Yet the “good” car was purchased for her not for me because she couldn’t drive the Jeep which we bought strictly for her because she wanted it.  But it turned out I was the one that really liked it.  Can’t win.

Good morning :)   I have coffee today, but the cup keeps leaking (I guess the cap isn't able to fully seal or something), so I keep having to wipe up the sides lol   Almost finished all my missing work for school, which means if I do a bit more work, I should be out of trouble with my parents (not even that bad of trouble compared to when I was younger, more just an annoyance haha)

I'll be going to some Pride events as a spectator.  Maybe marching in a parade if they have open participation.    The event we'd prefer to go to is held in a small town with a population of less than 600.  They have a parade through all three blocks of their downtown area.  Unfortunately, this year it is on the same day as a memorial service for a friend who passed away this winter, so we'll have to miss it.  So our second choice is a larger town, population about 9000, a bit farther away.    And we are keeping our eyes open for other events in the general area as they are announced.   I dress a bit flashier than normal, with some trans bling, such as rainbow or trans flag earrings, a trans symbol pendant, and a handheld trans flag to wave.  Political sentiment is turning against us, but public sentiment here is still strongly on our side, so getting out and showing the flag, both literally and figuratively, is important.
