I posted some pictures before in the General forum, but I wanted to post some here as well to get some more opinions. These are not the best quality, most of these were taken today after our bands 4 hour jam session, so I'm not at my best (which is good because you can see me not all made up etc.). (our friend Lucy dropped in today, so it was quite the jam by the way). Anyway here they are, oh and Dinah is my Strat...to prevent any confusion ;). Just wondering if I could get some advice on what I need to do to pass better, I already am going FT and I haven't had many problems, but I don't really think I'm doing such a great job passing, I'm feeling a bit self conscious I guess...so I was hoping I could get some advice.

i think you look really good. i don't see how you would have trouble passing...but as others have suggested, eyebrow shaping works wonders. and for the sake of randomness, you have slender wrists...which makes you look even more feminine. are you on HRT yet?

You look adorable.

Do you just play for fun or do you do this professionally? The band I mean.

Sorry I hadn't responded to you question/comments for awhile. Ugh, finals week...anyway now that I've officially failed this quarter (ha, had a lot on my plate ;) ) I have all the time in the world...see positivity in any situation! Anywhoo, thanks for the advice. We went out to see Eric Clapton and I actually got mrs'ed. (the ring ;) ). Oh and some drunk guy started hitting on me and my wife, he must have been really drunk to be hitting on me ;)...but it was fun. Oh, and I finally got to go shopping at the real mall (not online ;) ) which was a blast for Amanda, Brit, and I...Josh and Frank just kind of sat around all day, but hey we need to look good on stage so what can they say.

About the music, we do professionally play/tour but nothing big at the moment (usually we only cover 4-5 states in a two month period over summer break). We're the Acid Gorillas, and if you catch us on a "special" performance we are Purple Psychedelic Journey,by the way if anyone is looking to see us (ha, yeah we play a lot of original psychedelic music and also a lot of 60's, 70's hippy rock/hard rock). We also have a few cd's floating around, but you usually need to buy them at a show, etc. not on itunes yet (thats the goal after this summer though). So yeah, the Acid Gorillas (Purple Psychedelic Journey), good stuff ;).

Peace, love, and health,

Alice

In some pics you look totally feminine, but in some from certain angles, there are hints of maleness. I can't exactly describe what it is, it's just a subconscious hint of maleness. I think 3 things would help you. Get your eyebrows shaped. (There's also home waxing kits with do it yourself shaping.) From your other posts I'm assuming you aren't on HRT, or you've only been on it for 1 month or less? The 2nd thing you can do is give the estrogen time to soften your face. I think after 6+ months on HRT your face will look dramatically more female. The 3rd thing is, if you're thinking of any FFS at all, I'd say go for just a nose job before you consider anything else. But like I said, give HRT tons of time and see what it does for you facially before you consider any FFS. I'm not trying to be insulting by saying these things, I'm trying to be critically honest because you asked.

I think you are passable. I totally love the hair. You just need to shape your eyebrows. And no offence, your nose could be a little smaller. My husband is FtM and is chomping at the bit to start therapy. When April gets all dolled up as I call it, with her wig, makeup, dress, ect., I think she is passable. Like you, I told here she needs to shape her brows, and get some work done on her nose. And unfortunately, her adam's apple is a bit noticable. i think she has some pictures on here if you want to check her out.

Thank you soo much, this really really helped. We are going to finish the eyebrows tomarrow. They were huge greek caterpillars so it gets painful ;) thats why we break it up. Right now they are still baby caterpillars, so they have a way to go still. As far as HRT yeah, I have a letter of recommendation from one doctor to start, but I want to wait until I get the recommendation from the therapist at school (that way it can be covered in my student health services, the hormones too ;)..that's a big plus). We are really hoping they will make a difference, like you said soften it up a bit. As far as FFS we have decided to wait until 2 years of HRT to consider FFS, that way most of the change will be done and we'll know what we have to work with.

Please don't be worry about my feelings on these issues, I really need someone to be brutally honest with me (I tend to think my friends/family are a little too nice). I personally think I look horrible and have a lot of work to go, thats why I'm so surprised when I something like what happened at the concert occurs. The only way to make a work better is to critique and adjust, same with my looks in my opinion. Thanks the advice.

Peace, love, and health,

Alice

I kinda second what Snow Angels say, but really though, HRT should help out big time :P It is for me right now.

I also second how cute you look :) <3 You have a similar look to my adopted pseudo-little sister from my theatre days, who I adore very much. =)

Wow you're looking good in those pictures. In some of them there are small hints of manliness but some HRT should definetely help with that :)

You look great girl, totally passable. Like the others said there are little hints of maleness about your facial features, but they should go away with HRT. I reckon now you could pass about 90% of the time, and on HRT that will most likely go up to 99%. Thats just going from your pics though. :)

Also, you look a little young to be married ;)

Best of luck with your transition.

Personally I think that you look awsome! I have to look really hard to find the "rough" characteristics. Even those are not entirely out of character. Anyway enough of my rambling. You do look awsome.

I came up with a new strategy.  Replace the good 2 year old car we bought used with something that suits me. New or used but has to suit me this time and I’ll hang on to the old ford as long as it starts and runs for going to work when wife needs @ car.  Oh and yes she could drive the ford too, she’s done it many times in the past.  Movable pedals and seat combine to get here where she needs to be.  Now I just have to sell her on that idea.     now starts the search all over again but I can double my top range!

Sup singly, a superintendent prevented a student within the transgender community from changing current name, to the new name in which the student identifies with, I don't know how far back this story goes, but if you Google it under Oklahoma along with "student name change" the article should pop up. I'm not transgender, but I can relate to the process of legally getting a name change done, it's a lot of paperwork from court, a lot of traveling, and expenses depending on the laws from each state.

No one seemed to pay attention to me other than a young woman who complimented me on my skirt and an older gentleman who smiled at me as we passed each other.

Wow, I guess it’s the dat to be in trouble.  I’ve been hit twice by the ASM today and it’s my day off.  Why didn’t you, followed latter with a where is the.  Made me realize that I do t want to continue working long enough to pay for it. I guess I’ll just to have to stick with my 20 year old car for now.   I suppose sooner or later only one of us won’t be able to drive anymore.  Since I am older you might think it would be me but at this time i am the one that does all the driving except when she goes to church or the store when I’m at work.  She hasn’t driven anywhere since February and hasn’t driven more than 10 miles in perhaps a year.  Yet the “good” car was purchased for her not for me because she couldn’t drive the Jeep which we bought strictly for her because she wanted it.  But it turned out I was the one that really liked it.  Can’t win.

Good morning :)   I have coffee today, but the cup keeps leaking (I guess the cap isn't able to fully seal or something), so I keep having to wipe up the sides lol   Almost finished all my missing work for school, which means if I do a bit more work, I should be out of trouble with my parents (not even that bad of trouble compared to when I was younger, more just an annoyance haha)
