Hi! So I haven't been trying to "pass" in the public at all, but lateley I do seem to pass in some cases!: O I've been on low dosage hrt for more than year and a half, and I dress tottaly unisex style, nothing really femm...

So I really wanted to hear Your advices on weather I should try to go on full time - What is safer for me? To be like this andro, or would I maybe be happier full-time? I don't really yet maybe have the confidence or self-belief to change something, but maybe not it's became harder to pass as a male.

If other young women in your country trim and thin their eyebrows that would be one thing to do, grow you hair more unless that is the style where you live, you have nice features and full lips, but as i always tell people in these passing forums, it is so much more than looking female, do you blend in to others your age, do you wear the style clothes others your age, how are your mannerisms, your voice, these are all the things that make for a successful transition.

Do you have a therapist that can help guide you and a doctor that is prescribing that low dosage of hormones and do you get regular blood tests to make sure your testosterone, estrogen, kidney and liver functions are at the correct levels.

When to go full time is entirely up to you, nobody should tell you or push you in that direction if you feel you are not ready.

A couple of days ago a man walked in the door of a local store just in front of me. Khaki pants, flannel plaid work shirt, ball cap and khaki jacket. Didn't even think about it till the clerk said hi and he replied in a musical lilting voice. Immediately my perception did a 180 degree turn. No question. Her fluttering hands and body language were female too as she stopped to talk but every appearance was male. It made me think about all the "Do I pass?" questions we get about appearance here. Because I had no doubt at all that the woman in the store was a woman. Neither did the clerk.

It points up what Paula so wisely said. Appearance is the least of it. You have to have the voice and attitude first. Especially the attitude.

That said you do look very female in your pics and it seems to me you could easily pass on looks.

My mannerism is pretty feminine, but I could work on that more, and Im trying to work on my voice but it's definateley a hard, taking a long period of time process.

And no, I do not have a therapist and I do not check my hormone levels or anything like that. I prescribe meds myself, but I take them at really low dosage, so Im thinking this cant harm me much. I do know that it's bad, but in my country transexualism is uncommon, and it's hard to find proffesional help here.

Nostros, I understand the situation you're in, and I don't pretend to know what conditions are like for transfolk in your country. But please, for your own health and safety, have a doctor monitor your key organ functions,

such as liver and kidneys.

There is no guarantee that even low dosages are safe. It all depends on what dosage in what combination and

what other health issues you have. If you are not monitored at least every six months, you run the risk of

serious health risks. Hormones are serious medicine. Please treat them as such.

Thank You, I've taken this into consideration. But can I do this without having the doctor know that I use hormones? Can I just ask the doctor to check my liver and kidneys? Should I just say that, or is there a name for that sort of check up? sorry im really not familiar with doctors and medical stuff.. never been on a check up. Please tell me more about it. What check ups do You go though?

Nostros,

You can talk to your doctor and tell them that you are taking estrogen adn that you would like your blood word monitored to be sure your liver is functioning well and that you are not harming yourself. Most doctors would be happy to monitor your blood levels for you and if the one you first speak to say no, then find another one who will monitor you. Just becasue a doctor won't prescribe the hormones for you does not mean they would not be willing to monitor your blood tests to protect you.

Good news!^^

I had Echoscopy done to check all my organ functions, and I checked my blood, and they said im very healthy:- ) So I guess I can continue using my hormones the way I had been. ^_^

This is fantastic, We're adding a Boxer to our family sometime this evening or tomorrow. His name is Parker. We'll be crate training him as well as introducing him to two cats that have never been around a dog.   Pictures to follow later,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I still don't understand how any queer people can vote for these people.  I'll just leave it at that.

Thanks Kathy!    Some place where the peer pressure is to dress more feminine instead of less.  Imagine that. I haven't left the house in fem clothing since an outing to a local LGBT club over 15 years ago.   She's also pointed me to some support groups so that's next as well.     And for those who noticed, yes, I committed a rather egregious grammatical error in my post, but I couldn't figure out how to edit it.  That stuff bugs me to death. Geez Louise .

Just more of the same.  Unfortunately, I'm coming to expect it.

Everybody doesn't feel this way. As a AMAB child (in the 50's) I don't think I questioned my body, but I was quite fascinated with girl stuff.  When puberty hit I really wished I was a girl - but alas - I was stuck living as a guy.  As an adult I had pretty bad  homophobia, which was probably internalized transphobia, but I didn't really know what transgender was at the time.  And by then I was locked into a marriage and family. I lived like that for most of my life, and convinced myself (but not my wife) that I was happy.  When we were in our 60's, the marriage fell apart.  And I believe a large part of that was me resisting my feminine self.  When I no longer had to live up to being a man, I dared to take another peek inside, and my egg cracked big time. I still don't think I was "born in the wrong body."  Maybe it just needed a little tweaking. I think our "gender" is an internal thing.   I don't regret having lived so long trying to be a guy.  But if I could have transitioned as a child it would have been awesome.

Said it is possibly ptsd and anxiety, wants a second opinion.

@Adrianna DanielleSeeing two different therapist for separate issues really helped me deal with the each of them on different levels. I hope this works for you too.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I seem to remember the word "deplorables" being used not long ago.  Unfortunately so often appropriate.   Hugs,   Charlize

It was not that long ago that black people were banned from the University of Mississippi.  Schools were segregated and the same excuse of protecting the women (or girls) of old miss.  Times and many feeling have changed with time and federal intervention.  Unfortunately politicians love to separate and divide to gain power.     Hugs,   Charlize

I agree @Birdieto just "fit in", is what drove us to therapy. I'm not fitting in just to please someone with a closed mind. At least you know who your fair weather friends are now.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Yesterday in the lobby some of the residents were talking with me. One asked, "how come in all the TV commercials at the centre you don't appear in any of them?"   I explained that, "I'm an embarrassment to the centre and they don't know what to do with me." I get edited out!   Quite the differing options with the ladies at the table as some of them said, "that's discrimination", while others said, "they can see why."   Another lady said, "you would fair better if you cut your hair and went back to overalls, you should strive to fit in!"   Their opinions are as meaningful to me as rubbish. I did 45 years of trying to "fit in", and not doing that again. 😉
