Out In Public For The First Time, Not Binding

I'm posting this here since it relates to gender neutrality (I identify as gender neutral).

I’m out in public right now, in a rather tight shirt, and in a bra instead of a binder. I’ve been on T for 6 months, my body reacted well to it, so my voice is masculine and I have a beard (a scraggly patchy beard cuz I haven’t shaved lol), so everything about me appear male. Except for my chest. I have always wanted to do this. I feel that this… partly female, mostly male appearance is exactly who I am inside. And it feels so good to express that. It feels amazing, sitting here, eating dinner, feeling content and comfortable in my skin. Or close to it, I’m not gonna lie, I’m still kind subconscious. The guy who took my order keeps scowling at my chest too lol…. And I got a few weird looks in the restaurant. A three year old boy looked at me, smiled, and waved. It was so sweet. And really touching in a moment when everyone was looking at me like a freak. That’s why I love children…. I love the way (most) of them are able to look at a human being and not really see a gender, but see a human being. I wish the world could have that kind of outlook.

I just realized this is the first time I’ve ever been out in public though, as myself. As exactly how I see myself to be. Not ashamed. Not backing down. It feels good. It feels amazing.

I don’t know why I was inspired to share this, but I was.

I'm grateful for people that can go out honestly, even though most will scowl at them. I really wish I had that courage or confidence.

Why can't everyone be like that 3 year old...the world is so simple until we reach puberty, when we all become minorities; islands alone in an ocean of seperation...a child can apply the same kind of undying unconditional love to everything around it as a full grown human being can only hope to apply to another single human being. How is love so hard to grasp? At least affection? Innocence and affection, seeing the best in people, that's what i strive for day to day. I may not be perfect at it...but at least i try...i only wish others would do the same.

Sorry i kinda splurged on your thread...i'm just in sort of a drama queen funk... Anyway, congrats to going out as who you really are. That puts you strides ahead of many, including myself. Best of luck if you intend to do it again.
