Hey everyone!!

I am ridiculously excited to be here. : )

My name, or my chosen name, I should say, is Isobelle. I'm 33 years old, and I am a mtf transexual. Some degree of awareness of this goes back to my earliest memories, but unfortunately, mostly out of fear and confusion, I have spent a lot of time and energy in my life repressing. On and off through the years I have tried to accept and assimilate my feminine nature, but in every previous instance I have failed. I finally got depressed enough late last year that I had little choice but to face things. I couldn't go on the way things were.

I was both happy and frustrated that the end result of truly, openly exploring this part of my life has mostly been great happiness- the lifting of a tremendous burden, the opening of the cage doors, so to speak. The frustration comes from feeling like I should have made more of an effort earlier in my life.

I came out to most of my family and friends gradually over the next couple of months, giving myself time to understand and accept things, and then asking everyone else to try to as well. Happily my friends seem not to have been terribly surprised and have generally been supportive. I also started counseling in January, but I had to give it up in March, for a while, at least, because despite an understanding counselor that was willing to make concessions to my budget, I have been still unable to afford it. It wasn't much fun, admittedly, but I know I need it, and I hope to return to it soon.

I have been trying to find a good forum and support site for months and until now I have had no luck. I found this place while trying to research evanesce and feminol, which I had already placed an order for, but have since returned. I am doubly greatful for this site because, in addition to looking like a wonderful place to learn and share, I have no doubt that it has probably saved me from potential health problems related to herbal hormone treatments.

I really hope to learn some things from being here. There's a lot I don't know and don't understand. But I am done with hiding and being ashamed of myself, done with burying my feelings, done with being unhappy. Now its time to be myself, be proud of it, and to live.
