I am a 61 year old MTF Transsexual on HRT that just finished coming out at work.

My employer handled this so well, the results are way beyond my wildest dreams.

Now I am living in my real gender full time.

Its so nice to know I am not alone.

The work thing was fantastic. I told my boss on a Thursday, fully expecting to lose my job.

I was called to an off site meeting with the HR lady, the Manager and my boss.

I shook all the way to that meeting and found them more than accepting. They hired a group to come to work and give a series of sensitivity training seminars. The manager met with everyone and publicly congratulated me, even though I wasn't there. When I returned to work the next Thursday, I was greeted with open arms. I'm so proud of my employer!

This is so awesome, Chrissy!! It's so wonderful to hear a few employers are changing!! It takes a lot of courage to make this step in your life!! Great Job!!!

My SO is a postie, now. 2 years ago when she came out at work, the results weren't very good. They didn't want Karen rolling their steel!! ONe of the oldest and was largest steel producers didn't think well of a 33 yr vetern with the company. The surprises were a few people coming and telling her that it must've been hard for her. The worst part, "friends" for years ignoring her.

It's a good way to learn who your real friends are, for sure!!
