Say One Good Thing That Happened Today

Wife made my day.

When I picked her up from work today, while driving to my full time imprisonment job, she lifts up my sunglasses, sees my eyeliner and mascara, and doesn't say a word.

Some time later, after holding my hand and snuggling my shoulder, she tells me I'm not allowed to wear make up anymore.

I'm all "why not?!"

"Because you look better than me."

. . .

OMG!

She's full of . . . it, of course, I could never be as pretty as she is. But wow, I felt sooo good! I mean, she's never really been down with me wearing eyeliner, absolutely against mascara, but I do it anyways. To have her tell me I looked good in it. . . So much relief, and some understanding too.

Just one comment, but Gosh darned, I feel good.

So good! So very goooood!

Went to therapy as usual, and... she said my apparent gender has changed, but my base personality is always going to be what I was. And that personality was always very female. I hadn't thought of it, but she said I could morn my old male self, but the hole I have left when 'he' went away is not as large as I think - and it's obvious I am taking the best part with me, and... filling the hole nicely.

I feel completely unified now that I understand. It's such a GRAND feeling!

That's just the truth of it. Doesn't matter the shell, the appearance, the temporal. The soul is and always will be.

The finite is subject to change, the infinite, the soul, the part of us beyond what we can sense with what we've been given in nature; that never changes.

I've questioned my faith, I've even hated God, but I will never question the quality of the human soul. That's what we are, our entire being. Nothing conquers it, nothing alters it, that's our identity, that's our being, that's our "self."

Funny, how and when things come to us. I never really put it into words before, but that, the soul of each individual, the soul of our self; that's what I believe in over all. No doubt, no resentment, no question; that's something I can always have faith in.

I spent almost the entire day last night (and most of this morning) with my best friend, talking about our combined nerdiness and how our weirdness compliments eachother.

And then, wonder of wonders, my internet decided to work today.

BUT EVEN BETTER THAN THAT.

My girlfriend finally managed to find me a copy of Doctor Zhivago. I about cried I was so happy, I've been looking for that movie since friggin' 9th grade.

Volunteered at Raven's pre-school today. Always a good experience, I love kids. Aedin (my 5 mo old) was so good too, as usual, and Lily got to play with someone other than her sister for a change. Snax we brought were a hit and all in all, it was a good morning.

Hello, Ladies;

Well early this morning when I stopped at the store on my way to work. I saw a lady that I have not seen in over a year. We talked for a few minutes and these are some of her comments.

1. Wow, you have really changed.

2. Your facial skin feels like a womans.

3. You are looking extremely happy and have a glow about you.

After that I explained to her why I am looking different then the last time we had seen each other. She was slightly shocked, but she said that the changes look very good on me.

/Love

Valerie

I'm actually late in saying this, but on tuesday I got a promotion. a week or so ago I was talking to the owner/GM of where I work about benefits. He said unfortunately they can't offer them to non-management. I had been meaning to talk to him about becoming a supervisor for a little bit now, and this was the perfect time. I mentioned that I was interested, and he seemed to think it would be worth looking into. This past saturday (my day off) I got a call from the owner, saying that their closing supervisor wasn't coming in, and would I like to work the shift for him. He then went on to say that that night would be a trial run for me to see how I do as a supervisor. I said sure, and went in. I then came in for my shift on tuesday, and the owner pulled me aside for a minute to talk about how saturday went. He said he, and everyone else was impressed, and starting this coming monday, I'm our newest closing supervisor. Woohoo!

I've just found out that I'll be living with my friends next year.

...Actually that's the result of a bad thing happening. I'm just trying to make the best of it and be happy that I'll get to be with them.

Not today.. so this might be cheating a little bit.. more over the last combined few days.

Anyway.. that good thing:

Finding my true self and not only coming to terms with it, but learning to love it.

Means the world to me.

Overdosed on Daria episodes.

I know it's really not a good thing to stay in bed all morning, but after 5 hours sleep and running too many errands before breakfast, I felt I was entitled to catch up on vegetating. So my babies and I spent the rest of the morning with my Daria collection.

Maybe a not so healthy dose of 90's cynicism. Oh well. ^_^

Made a Gosh darned good pot of coffee too. One cup, over two hours ago, still a little shaky. Yah, whoa.
